Abstract

This research aims to develop a PISA-type content quantity that uses the context of religious holidays during the pandemic that is valid, practical, and potentially affects mathematical literacy skills. This research uses development research with two stages: preliminary and formative evaluation. This research also uses Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model in the learning process. This study involved eighth-grade students aged 13-15 years of various abilities. Data collection and analysis techniques were documentation, walkthroughs, observation, interviews, and tests. The research was carried out offline and online (Zoom and WhatsApp Group (WAG)). In this study, sharing activities were produced as well as a PISA-type jumping task with content quantity characteristics in the context of religious holiday during the pandemic by the PISA 2022 framework where what needs to be considered are mathematical literacy skills and use of language that is by language standards that can be applied and well interpreted by the students. Based on the students' answers, it can be seen that the questions and activities are included in the practical category because they can be solved well by students. From the results, it can be concluded that the developed PISA-like numeracy and activity has a potential effect on mathematical literacy skills and life in the context of religious days during the pandemic. In addition, IBL model can improve students' communication skills in solving PISA-type math problems and activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical representation ability of educated people in the linear buying system using Palembang culinary context questions. This research uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were students of class XI IPA SMA, totaling 3 people. The data collection techniques used were written tests and interviews. The questions on the written test are of the type of description questions, which consist of 2 questions using the culinary context of Palembang, where the first question uses the context of lamington cake and the second question uses the context of pempek. Data analysis is done by collecting data, reducing it, presenting it, and drawing conclusions from it. The results of the research were that there were two subjects who were able to change the given problem into the form of a mathematical model so that their mathematical representation skills emerged successfully, and one subject was unable to generate mathematical representation abilities because they had not been able to change the given problem into a mathematical model form.

Abstract

This research belongs to the type of development research, which consists of the main stages, including preliminary design and formative evaluation. This study aims to obtain valid and practical PISA-type development questions consisting of initial design, self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, and small group. The emergence of this research is due to the low mathematical literacy of students in Indonesia. This study took a particular research subject for grade IX junior high school students in Palembang City. From this study, the results obtained include the development of PISA-type questions and activities using the context of social distancing during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' mathematical critical thinking skills after the implementation of learning using PMRI and LSLC on social Arithmetic material with the help of animated videos in class VII. This type of research is descriptive. The subjects of this study were students of SMP Negeri 1 Palembang class VII.1, totaling 32 students. The data collection technique used is the provision of test questions which amount to 2 questions in the form of descriptions, observations, and interviews. After doing the research, it was found that the mathematical critical thinking skills of class VII.1 students on social Arithmetic material, the subject of sales, purchases, profits, losses, and percentages had appeared a lot. However, some students still did not show indicators of their mathematical critical thinking abilities. The indicators that seem the most are the analytical indicators, while the indicators that appear the least are the interpretation indicators.

Abstract

Collaborative learning through lesson study has become one of the promising methods for improving the quality of education and improving teachers' quality, likewise with the PMRI approach. The combination of the two in the training for primary school pre-service teachers, specifically in the second simulation session, was observed and reported. This article aims to describe the collaboration process in the second session of the simulations about polygon learning at PMRI training for primary school pre-service teachers. A design research method of the development type was used in this study, only at the preliminary and development or prototyping phase. The research subjects are students of Primary School Pre-service Teachers of Sriwijaya University that consisted of eight students for the small group and 32 students for the field test. Data was collected through documentation, observation, and field notes. The result showed that there were good collaboration occurs between researcher-lecturer, lecturer-student, and between students at the plan-do-see-redesign stage of the lesson study.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan matematis tiga siswa kelas 8 MTs Islamiyah pada materi Systematic Listing and Counting dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik pengambilan data observasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengujikan soal-soal matematis yang memiliki level mudah, sedang, dan susah. Dari analisis yang dilakukan oleh peneliti, didapat ketiga siswa mampu mengerjakan semua soal dengan tepat. Namun, hanya dua dari tiga soal yang dapat dikerjakan secara mandiri, yaitu soal mudah dan soal sedang. Sedangkan, sisanya, yaitu soal sulit, diperlukan arahan oleh peneliti dalam pengerjaannya. Hal ini disebabkan oleh minimnya informasi yang diberikan pada soal sulit. Hal tersebut membuat siswa kesulitan dalam memecahkan permasalahan soal. Peneliti menyadari bahwa perlunya penekanan aspek pemahaman konsep serta pengembangan berpikir kreatif di dalam pembelajaran. This study aims to analyze the mathematical abilities of three 8th grade students of MTs Islamiyah on Systematic Listing and Counting using descriptive qualitative methods and observational data collection techniques. The research was conducted by testing mathematical questions that have easy, medium, and difficult levels. From the analysis conducted by the researcher, it was found that the three students were able to do all the questions correctly. However, only two of the three questions can be done independently, namely easy questions and moderate questions. Meanwhile, the rest, which is difficult questions, require direction by researchers in the process. This is due to the lack of information provided on difficult questions. This makes it difficult for students to solve problems. Researchers realize that it is necessary to emphasize aspects of conceptual understanding and the development of creative thinking in learning.

Abstract

Abstrak :Berpikir reflektif dalam matematika merupakan salah satu kemampuan berpikir yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Dengan berpikir reflektif siswa dapat mengkaitkan beberapa pengetahuan yang ada untuk merumuskan dan memecahkan suatu masalah baru. Namun kenyataannya berpikir reflektif tidak terpenuhi secara optimal karena kurang diperhatikan dan kurang kesempatan dalam mengembangkannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemunculan indikator kemampuan berpikir reflektif siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PMRI konteks ornamen jati diri Sumatera Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian yaitu 3 siswa kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap analisis data. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis dan wawancara. Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan tiga aktivitas, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa indikator yang banyak muncul adalah reacting dan elaborating. Sedangkan indikator yang sedikit muncul adalah contemplanting. Kata kunci: Berpikir Reflektif; PMRI; Ornamen Jati Diri Sumatera Selatan

Abstract

Abstrak : Berpikir kreatif matematis adalah kemampuan berpikir dengan memiliki tujuan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan dengan menggunakan satu atau lebih gagasan atau ide yang baru dengan didasarkan konsep materi yang sudah dimengerti. Aspek kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang digunakan adalah Fluency, Flexibility, Elaborasi dan Originality. Tujuan penelitian ialah mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Penelitian menggunakan subjek siswa kelas XII SMA. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang mana tujuannya untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dalam mengerjakan soal PMRI dengan konteks Monpera pada materi Kaidah pencacahan. Prosedur pelaksanaan yang digunakan terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan analisis data. Selanjutnya, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tes dan waawancara. Kemudian, teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini terdiri dari (1) reduksi data, (2) penyajian data, (3) penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian yaitu penggunaan konteks monpera berdampak pada kemunculan aspek kemampuan berpikir kreatif matamatis, diantaranya aspek yang paling sering muncul yaitu Fluency (Kelancaran) dan Flexibility (Keluwesan). Sedangkan aspek yang jarang muncul yaitu Elaborasi dan Originality (Keaslian).Kata kunci : Kemampuan berpikir kreatif, PMRI, Kaidah Pencacahan

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa pada materi bangun datar konteks wisata Palembang. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian deskiptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan ada yang digunakan adalah tes dengan dua permasalahan berkaitan dengan konteks wisata Palembang yang telah di validasi oleh validator. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tiga orang siswa kelas VII di MTs Plus Sai’idiyah Lubuk Batang. Hasil dari tes dianalisis kemunculan indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis. Dari tiga siswa yang diberikan tes, pada kasus pertama salah satu siswa tidak memenuhi indikator ketiga tetapi pada kasus kedua seluruh siswa memenuhi ketiga indikator koneksi matematis.

Abstract

This study examined the efficacy of collaborative teaching using a projectbased learning (PjBL) worksheet on plastic waste and climate change. The research design followed a type-II development approach, with two distinct phases: exploration and development, and collaborative teaching. The study involved five science teachers, two lecturers, and 45 seventh-grade students in three limited field trials. The study found that collaborative teaching through worksheet development could increase science teachers’ professionalism, particularly in the collegial phase. Furthermore, the study developed a valid PjBL-based worksheet on plastic waste and climate change, aligning with the 2013 curriculum for science instruction in junior high school, involving three core competencies. The research design employed a lesson study framework, which allowed for a thorough exploration of the research topic, leading to the development of effective instructional material. The findings of this study have significant implications for science education in junior high school, particularly in promoting active learning and fostering a deeper understanding of complex environmental issues. Overall, the study highlights the importance of collaborative teaching and the potential of PjBL-based worksheets in enhancing teacher competence and developing relevant instructional materials that align with the curriculum.
