Abstract

The quality of life of ODHA will be affected by various problems including stigma and discrimination from society which becomes a double burden for people with HIV/AIDS. Stigma is a negative view that is attached to a person that comes from the environment. Negative stigma and discrimination from society will make the condition of HIV/AIDS sufferers worse, the body continues to decline because it has to work hard as a breadwinner. As an alternative that can be used as leverage to increase productivity, KDS provides skills as a provision for their lives, namely making batik which is developed through Cap and canting, has a contribution of domestic products and from local wisdom as a characteristic of Indonesia, which can increase regional contributions and is in demand by all levels of society. The KDS and ODHA empowerment program through batik-making work therapy has proven successful in increasing the knowledge and skills of participants, where most participants showed increased knowledge and practical skills in making batik. Through these skills, KDS members can produce quality products that can be marketed and contribute to the local economy. This program also shows a positive impact in reducing stigma and discrimination against ODHA in the Blitar Raya community, by creating a new and positive social identity. With the right sustainability strategy, this empowerment can make a long-term contribution to improving the welfare of ODHA and encouraging better social acceptance in society.

Abstract

Poverty is one of the complex phenomena that occurs in Indonesia. Various socio-economic variables in Indonesia influence poverty, which we can mathematically model using the Generalized Linear Model (GLM) framework. In this study, we modeled data on the number of poor people per province in 2023 taken from the Badan Pusat Statistik of Indonesia website. The response variable in this study was initially assumed to exhibit equidispersion, where the variance equals the mean. However, the observed variance exceeded the mean, indicating overdispersion. Consequently, Negative Binomial Regression, an extension of the GLM that introduces an additional dispersion parameter, was applied to account for this overdispersion. This approach accommodates overdispersed count data by incorporating a gamma-distributed latent variable. The aim of this study is to determine the best model using Negative Binomial Regression in handling overdispersion in Indonesia's poverty data. This model was chosen for its robustness in capturing increased data variability, enabling the identification of factors that influence poverty. The results of this study offer a mathematically rigorous approach to better understand the underlying dynamics of poverty across provinces in Indonesia.

Abstract

Empirical evidence on the operational integration of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah (ASWAJA) values into mathematics instruction is still limited. This qualitative phenomenological study aims to formulate an integration model of the ASWAJA concepts of balance (tawazun) and justice (iʿtidāl) within Mathematics Education and Islamic Religious Education (IRE). Data were obtained from 18 lesson‑hours of classroom observation, in‑depth interviews with 12 mathematics and IRE teachers, and document analysis of 24 lesson plans across three ASWAJA‑oriented Islamic senior high schools in East Java, Indonesia. NVivo‑assisted thematic analysis yielded three dominant themes: (1) epistemic balance framing the teaching of symmetry and geometry; (2) numeric justice structuring fraction operations and context‑based distribution problems; and (3) reflective integration linking mathematical concepts to prophetic traditions on moderation. The study proposes an “Integrated Tawazun‑Iʿtidāl Model” as its theoretical novelty by adding numeric‑justice indicators to existing value‑integration frameworks. Practical implications include thematic teaching modules, value‑driven lesson‑plan design training, and character‑moderation assessment tools. Future research should pilot the model at elementary and junior‑high levels to examine its transferability and wider applicability.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-module based on Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) to enhance junior high school students' creative thinking skills, particularly on flat-sided geometric shapes. The research was motivated by the low level of student creativity in mathematics, often attributed to conventional, teacher-centred learning methods. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilising the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The participants were eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 16 Kota Jambi. The developed e-module was validated for practicality and effectiveness. The effectiveness was assessed through a pretest-posttest design, demonstrating a significant improvement in students’ creative thinking abilities across four key indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The average N-gain score of 0.79 indicates a high category of effectiveness. These findings suggest that integrating IBL with digital learning media provides an effective instructional tool for fostering students’ mathematical creativity. Therefore, the IBL-based e-module is recommended as an innovative alternative to support student-centred learning and the development of higher-order thinking skills in mathematics.

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescent girls are prone to nutrition-related problems, ranging from anaemia, SEZ, undernutrition and overnutrition. Currently, more interventions are conducted on school-aged adolescents, while adolescents who are no longer in school have not been addressed. Implementation of interventions in the community, such as youth organisations and religious organisations, not only in schools. This can increase accessibility and participation among adolescents who are not in formal education young women-based social organisations can be involved in interventions to prevent adolescent malnutrition through a mentoring model. The aim of this study was to analyse the effect of organisation-based mentoring on improving knowledge, this study aims to analyse the differences in knowledge, practice of malnutrition prevention in the form of measurement of calorie adequacy and iron intake. Methods: This research design is a quasi-experimental pre and post-test with a control group. This study was conducted on 189 adolescent girls, which were divided into an intervention group of 98 people and a control group of 91 people. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. The study was conducted for 10 weeks. Data were obtained by structured interviews. Data were analysed using paired t test and wilcoxon, while between group analysis with manwithney. Results: The results showed that there was a difference between knowledge, behaviour before and after the intervention between the treatment group and the control group with p < 0.05. There was a significant increase in knowledge, attitude and behaviour in the intervention and control groups. Conclusion: Community organisation-based mentoring has been shown to be effective in improving adolescent health. It is necessary to strengthen regulations in regulating the role of community organisations, especially adolescents, through structured assistance and education for vulnerable groups including adolescents. The results of the study can be duplicated to be implemented in other organisations that focus on adolescents.

Abstract

Learning mathematics is important for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, improving students' creativity and self-confidence is still a major concern, especially in solving complex mathematical problems. This study analyzes the relationship between Creative Performance Self-Efficacy (CPSE) and mathematical problem-solving ability on number pattern material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with participants of grade VIII students of Jambi City 1 Junior High Schools selected based on high and low CPSE categories. Data was collected through CPSE questionnaires, problem-solving tests, and semi-structured interviews. The study showed that CPSE is not always directly proportional to mathematical problem-solving ability. Students with high CPSE do not always perform better than those with low CPSE. Some students with low CPSE can develop more systematic and practical problem-solving strategies. In contrast, students with high CPSE have difficulty understanding problems and executing the right solutions. Factors such as conceptual understanding, accuracy, and learning experience also influence problem-solving success. The conclusion of this study confirms that a learning approach that only focuses on improving CPSE is not practical enough without strengthening conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies. Therefore, a scaffolding-based learning approach, problem-based learning (PBL), and differentiated instruction are needed to accommodate the needs of students with different CPSE profiles. In addition, metacognitive strategies such as self-evaluation, error-based learning to identify errors, and reflective discussions to evaluate solutions are also essential to implement.   Keywords: creative performance self-efficacy, mathematical problem-solving, students’ strategies, number patterns.
