Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of students caused by the lack of learning activities and teacher-centered learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model assisted by PANZAT media on the mathematical problem-solving ability of elementary school students and examine the role of learning activities in supporting these abilities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest. The subjects of the study were 42 second-grade students of SD Negeri 5 Ngabul. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and tests, while data analysis included normality tests, paired sample t-tests, and simple regression tests. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. In addition, learning activities had a positive and significant effect on mathematical problem-solving ability with a correlation coefficient of 0.788 and a determination coefficient of 0.622. Thus, RME learning assisted by PANZAT media has a positive effect on students' learning activities and mathematical problem-solving abilities

Abstract

The tendency to teach geometry mechanically highlights the need for mathematics instruction grounded in students’ daily contexts. This study designs a Learning Trajectory (LT) for cube nets using the engklek game—a traditional Indonesian hopping game—as a realistic context, framed within Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), and implemented through educational design research (validation study type). Conducted at one school in Kudus, the study involved 21 Grade 5 students across three phases: preparing for the experiment, designing the experiment (pilot and teaching experiment), and retrospective analysis. The resulting LT comprises four sequenced activities aligned with RME’s modeling levels—situational, model-of, model-for, and formal—through which students progressed from informal understandings (e.g., engklek kapal terbang as a cube net) to formal knowledge: recognizing eleven distinct cube nets organized into four pattern categories (1-4-1, 2-3-1, 2-2-2, and 3-3). This LT contributes to the expansion of instructional design in mathematics and provides teachers with a culturally responsive, game-based pedagogical tool that bridges students’ informal experiences with formal geometric concepts.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk Menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pemecahan masalah matematis menggunakan teori Newman pada siswa kelas IV SD 3 Karangmalang, Kecamatan Gebog, Kabupaten Kudus. Jenis penelitin ini mengunakan Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus yang akan dilaksanakan di SD 3 Karangmalang. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan subjek penelitian 9 siswa kelas IV. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Newman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 siswa melakukan kesalahan membaca, Kesalahan memahami masalah yang dilakukan oleh 6 siswa. Kesalahan transformasi yang dilakukan oleh 5 siswa. Kesalahan keterampilan proses dilakukan oleh 9 siswa. Kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir yang dilakukan oleh 9 siswa. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa analisis kesalahan Newman memudahkan guru dalam mengidentifikasi tahapan kesalahan siswa untuk perbaikan pembelajaran. Abstract

  ABSTRACT : This study aims to determine the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by Batik Nusantara media on the understanding of plane geometry concepts among third-grade students at MI NU Suryawiyyah. The study was motivated by the low level of students’ conceptual understanding, where only 29.7% of students achieved learning mastery. This condition indicates the need for a more engaging learning model that can improve students’ activeness during the learning process. The Jigsaw model was chosen because it can train students’ cooperation, communication, and responsibility in group learning activities. In addition, Batik Nusantara media was used to help students understand plane geometry concepts through examples closely related to local culture. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design (pretest-posttest). Data analysis included the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and simple regression analysis. The results showed that the pretest value was 0.092 > 0.05 and the posttest value was 0.397 > 0.05, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The regression test showed an R Square value of 0.574, meaning that the Jigsaw model assisted by Batik Nusantara media contributed 57.4% to students’ conceptual understanding. ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berbantuan media Batik Nusantara terhadap pemahaman konsep bangun datar siswa kelas III MI NU Suryawiyyah. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa, dimana hanya 29,7% yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan perlunya model pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan mampu meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam proses belajar. Model Jigsaw dipilih karena dapat melatih kerja sama, komunikasi, dan tanggung jawab siswa dalam kelompok belajar. Selain itu, media Batik Nusantara digunakan untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep bangun datar melalui contoh yang dekat dengan budaya lokal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental (pretest-posttest). Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dan regresi sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan nilai pretest 0,092 > 0,05 dan posttest 0,397 > 0,05, sehingga data berdistribusi normal. Uji regresi menunjukkan nilai R Square sebesar 0,574, yang berarti model Jigsaw berbantuan media Batik Nusantara memberikan pengaruh sebesar 57,4% terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa.

Abstract

The low level of students’ mathematical conceptual understanding was evidenced by the Mid-Semester Assessment (STS) results for the 2025/2026 academic year. Students’ mathematics scores remained below the established Minimum Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 75, with the highest score reaching only 72. Moreover, 24 of 39 students had not achieved the KKTP. This condition indicates the need for meaningful and contextual learning to improve students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by Burandut media in supporting the mathematical conceptual understanding of fifth-grade students. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 39 fifth-grade students at SD N 3 Demaan Kudus. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, paired-sample t-test, and N-Gain test with SPSS version 25. The results showed that the data were normally distributed, with significance values of 0.258 for the pretest and 0.417 for the posttest, both exceeding 0.05. The paired-sample t-test obtained a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Furthermore, the N-Gain value was 0.66, categorized as moderate. Therefore, the CTL model assisted by BURANDUT media was moderately effective in supporting students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. The implementation positively contributed to students’ ability to understand, differentiate, represent, and relate angle concepts to real-life contexts. Thus, CTL assisted by Burandut media can be an alternative learning approach to support students’ mathematical conceptual understanding, particularly in angle material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan media papan pecahan melalui pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pecahan sebagai bagian dari keseluruhan pada siswa kelas II SDN 1 Panjang. Materi yang diajarkan difokuskan pada pengenalan konsep pecahan sederhana, yaitu 1/2 dan 1/4. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 32 siswa kelas II SDN 1 Panjang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media papan pecahan melalui pendekatan PMRI membantu siswa memahami konsep pecahan dengan lebih baik melalui kegiatan pembelajaran yang dikaitkan dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme dan memberikan tanggapan positif selama proses pembelajaran, yang tercermin dari meningkatnya kemampuan mereka dalam mengenali dan menjelaskan konsep pecahan sederhana. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media papan pecahan yang dipadukan dengan pendekatan PMRI merupakan alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif untuk memfasilitasi pemahaman konsep pecahan pada siswa sekolah dasar. The Use of Fraction Board Media through the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) Approach to Improve Elementary Students' Understanding of Fraction Concepts This study aimed to describe the implementation of fraction board media through the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach in improving second-grade students' understanding of fractions as parts of a whole at SDN 1 Panjang. The instructional content focused on introducing the basic fraction concepts of 1/2 and 1/4. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of 32 second-grade students at SDN 1 Panjang. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of fraction board media through the PMRI approach helped students develop a better understanding of fraction concepts by connecting mathematical learning to real-life contexts. In addition, the students demonstrated high enthusiasm and positive responses throughout the learning process, as reflected in their improved ability to recognize and explain simple fraction concepts. These findings suggest that integrating fraction board media with the PMRI approach provides an effective instructional alternative for facilitating elementary school students' understanding of fraction concepts.

Abstract

Inovasi pembelajaran matematika di sekolahh dasar (SD), sangat diperlukan hal ini dikarenakan pembelajaran masih berpusat kepada guru yang kurang memanfaatkan kearifan lokal sebagai sumber belajar siswa. Khususnya di kelas 4 SD Negeri 3 tunggul Kecamatan Nalumsari Kabupaten Jepara. Terdapat beberapa siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami pembelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi Bangun datar. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut peneliti merancang desain pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran realistik Indonesia dengan konteks rumah Adat Jepara dengan menggunakan media permainan edukatif tangram. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan pemahaman konsep geometri permukaan lebih dalam dengan melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam merakit dan memecahkan teka-tekipada permainanedukatif tangram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian desain (desain research). Dengan 3 tahapan yakni 1. preliminary design. 2. Eksperiment 3. restrofektif analysis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: siswa minat belajar siswa meningkat dan siswa sangat berkontribusi dalam pembelajaran.
