Abstract

Resistensi dalam pendidikan Islam merupakan fenomena yang muncul sebagai respons terhadap dinamika perubahan sosial, teknologi, dan kebijakan pendidikan di era globalisasi. Dalam konteks transformasi pendidikan Islam, resistensi tidak selalu bermakna penolakan, melainkan dapat menjadi refleksi dari upaya menjaga nilai, tradisi, dan identitas keislaman. Namun demikian, tanpa strategi adaptif yang tepat, resistensi berpotensi menghambat inovasi dan pembaruan kelembagaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk resistensi serta strategi adaptif yang diterapkan oleh lembaga pendidikan Islam dalam menghadapi perubahan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR), penelitian ini menelaah empat artikel ilmiah terpilih dari tahun 2020–2025 yang relevan dengan tema resistensi dan strategi adaptif dalam transformasi pendidikan Islam. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa resistensi justru dapat berfungsi sebagai mekanisme adaptif apabila dikelola secara konstruktif. MAN 2 Kota Malang menampilkan model manajemen strategis partisipatif; Pesantren Musthafawiyah Purba Baru mempertahankan resistensi tradisional yang produktif; SMAS Islam Sunan Gunung Jati Tulungagung menegaskan pentingnya kepemimpinan inklusif; sedangkan MI Thoriqul Huda Ranupani memperlihatkan resistensi kultural berbasis kearifan lokal. Keempat temuan ini menghasilkan preposisi bahwa keberhasilan transformasi pendidikan Islam bergantung pada kemampuan lembaga mengelola resistensi secara reflektif dan mengembangkan strategi adaptif berbasis konteks sosial. Kajian ini diharapkan memperkaya wacana teoritis dan praktis dalam membangun model transformasi pendidikan Islam yang inklusif, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan di era 2025 dan seterusnya.

Abstract

Principal leadership is a crucial factor determining educational success, but the phenomenon of authoritarian leadership cases indicates a gap between formal roles and effectiveness in the field, especially in relation to curriculum management. This study aims to examine in depth the leadership style of the Principal at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung Tulungagung and its implications for improving the curriculum management capabilities of educators. This study also aims to identify the leadership style and describe the curriculum management carried out by educators. This study adopted a qualitative approach with a focused case study type, where the researcher acted as the main instrument at the research site. Primary data sources involved the Principal, the Vice Principal for Curriculum, and educators. Data were collected using triangulation techniques (participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies) and analyzed interactively using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study confirm that leadership effectiveness lies in an adaptive and multifaceted approach that simultaneously integrates the roles of educator, leader, manager, motivator, administrator, innovator, and supervisor. The principal implemented instrument differentiation: transactional aspects (rewards and punishments) were directed at managing behavior and discipline directly tied to curriculum implementation, while transformational aspects (training/internships) were directed at improving technical competency. This success was supported by the supervisor's role through classroom visits that ensured the internalization of new knowledge into actual practice. This finding is significant because it offers a validated applied model for vocational school management, demonstrating that the effectiveness of curriculum management depends on the flexibility and comprehensiveness of the leader's managerial role.

Abstract

This research aims to identify practices in implementing effective learning-based supervision. Effective learning-based supervision is a process of coaching and professional development of teaching staff which aims to improve the quality of learning in the classroom. This research uses the library research method to analyze various relevant literature related to the implementation of effective learning-based supervision, starting from analyzing the basic concepts of effective learning-based supervision, the evaluation framework which includes aspects evaluated in the process of implementing effective learning- based supervision, then indicators of success in implementation of effective learning-based supervision as well as evaluation instruments in implementing effective learning-based supervision and this research also discusses related problems and efforts in evaluating the implementation of effective learning-based supervision. The results show that effective learning-based supervision has great potential in improving the quality of learning. However, the implementation of supervision still faces various problems in its implementation, lack of commitment from school principals or supervisors, limited time, minimal support from other teaching staff, and budget limitations. Of course, more systematic, integrated and sustainable efforts are needed to overcome these problems, including, by increasing the number of teaching staff, allocating sufficient funds, and encouraging active teacher participation.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to understand the role and responsibilities of a school principal in teacher development. School principals can monitor teacher performance by conducting supervision, the results of the supervision can then be used as a source of evaluation data in improving teacher performance. The method used in this research is literature analysis, data obtained through various sources such as articles in journals and books that are related to research. The conclusion obtained is that the school principal as supervisor has a role and responsibility in carrying out teacher development or supervision, in order to achieve educational goals effectively and efficiently. The aim of teacher development by school principals is to help teachers improve and develop learning and improve the quality of work. In carrying out supervision, supervisors use individual techniques and group techniques, individual techniques namely class visits, class observations, individual meetings, and self-assessment, while group techniques include holding meetings or conferences, and holding group discussions

Abstract

Disrupsi digital menuntut transformasi tata kelola SDM di lembaga pendidikan Islam, namun pembinaan pendidik saat ini masih terjebak pada pola pelatihan konvensional (one-size-fits-all) tanpa diagnosis awal serta sistem karir birokratis yang kaku. Penelitian kepustakaan kualitatif ini menggunakan analisis isi (content analysis) terhadap literatur akademik untuk menyajikan solusi sistemik atas masalah inefisiensi tersebut. Kajian ini bertujuan merumuskan model integratif desain diklat modern dan pengembangan karir kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Training Needs Assessment (TNA) sangat esensial untuk memetakan kesenjangan kompetensi pendidik secara presisi sebelum diklat dieksekusi. Selain itu, pelembagaan ekosistem karir alternatif, seperti dual-career ladders dan job enrichment, terbukti efektif menekan resistensi kultural dan meretensi guru inovatif. Kesimpulannya, sinergi antara diklat berbasis kebutuhan, jalur karir meritokratis, dan kepemimpinan transformasional merupakan intervensi mutlak untuk memecahkan stagnasi SDM serta mencetak tenaga pendidik yang adaptif dan berdaya saing global di madrasah.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize and analyze previous research findings on kyai leadership in building Islamic education management and to develop a conceptual model that explains the relationships among the various dimensions of kyai leadership. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The literature search was conducted through the Scopus database using keywords related to kyai leadership, transformational leadership, Islamic education, and Islamic education management. From an initial pool of 312 identified articles, 42 articles met the inclusion criteria and were subjected to an in-depth analysis using thematic synthesis techniques. The findings reveal that kyai leadership is a multidimensional phenomenon consisting of seven major dimensions: spiritual leadership, charismatic leadership, transformational leadership, visionary leadership, cultural broker leadership, entrepreneurial leadership, and adaptive-collaborative leadership. The study further demonstrates that kyai serve as spiritual leaders, agents of organizational change, developers of institutional culture, educational innovators, cultural mediators, community empowerment leaders, and managers of educational transformation. Based on the synthesis of the reviewed literature, this study proposes an Integrative Model of Kyai Leadership in Building Islamic Education Management, which incorporates these seven leadership dimensions into a unified conceptual framework. This study contributes theoretically to the advancement of Islamic education management literature and provides a foundation for future research on Islamic educational leadership.

Abstract

Quality education will give rise to a well-educated golden generation. However, in reality, the quality of education in Indonesia has not been fully supported, as reflected in data from UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring Report in 2016. This study aims to determine how human resource management contributes to improving the quality of education at MI Plus Watulimo Trenggalek. The research employed a qualitative case study approach, with data obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed through three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that human resource management at MI Plus Watulimo is implemented effectively through four stages: human resource planning; recruitment and selection; human resource training and development; and human resource control. Several challenges arose in the training and development stage, particularly regarding the teachers’ motivation, as many of them were hesitant to participate independently and tended to wait for direct instructions from the headmaster. Systematic and structured human resource management is essential to producing teachers with a strong sense of responsibility toward their work, which in turn helps improve the overall quality of education.

Abstract

Educational institutions are increasingly required to respond to rapid educational reforms, technological advancement, and rising expectations for educational quality, making innovative leadership an essential competency for school principals. However, limited empirical research has examined how innovative leadership behavior contributes to the development of the National Education Standards (Standar Nasional Pendidikan) within Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the innovative leadership behavior of madrasah principals in developing the National Education Standards through a multisite qualitative study conducted at MTs Negeri 3 Jombang and MTs Negeri 16 Jombang, Indonesia. A qualitative multisite case study design was employed, involving principals, vice principals, teachers, administrative staff, school committee members, and supervisors selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, followed by within-site and cross-site analysis. The findings reveal that innovative leadership behavior operates through four interconnected stages: opportunity exploration, idea generation, idea championing, and idea implementation. These behavioral stages enable principals to transform educational challenges into sustainable institutional innovation through collaborative planning, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and continuous evaluation. The study proposes an Innovative Leadership Behavior Model for Madrasah Development, extending the Innovative Work Behavior framework into educational leadership. The findings contribute to the literature on educational leadership by providing a behavioral perspective for understanding sustainable school improvement and offer practical implications for strengthening leadership capacity in implementing the National Education Standards within Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of Islamic school culture, the strategies of its internalization, and their effectiveness in addressing the moral challenges faced by Generation Z in the digital era. This research employed a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analyzed through an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that: (1) Islamic school culture is manifested through a Qur’anic vision, the integration of Islamic values into the curriculum, habituation of worship, teachers’ role modeling, and a consistently religious environment; (2) internalization strategies are implemented comprehensively through school leadership, value-based learning integration, Qur’anic achievement monitoring, the use of digital media, and active student participation in religious activities; (3) these strategies led to improvements in students’ discipline, responsibility, and religious awareness, as well as the creation of a conducive, bullying-free school climate and the reinforcement of Islamic practices in family environments. The findings highlight the importance of integrating digital innovation into Islamic education to enhance student engagement and ensure the relevance of value internalization in the digital era.
