Abstract

Consumer protection law reflects the responsibility of the state in ensuring fairness and justice between business actors and consumers. This study analyzes and compares the historical, social, political, economic, and constitutional factors underlying the formation of consumer protection law in Indonesia and the Philippines.. The results indicate Both nations demonstrate that consumer protection laws serve not only as legal instruments but also as reflections of social transformation and state accountability.

Abstract

Implementing passport services in the Immigration Work Unit of Bojonegoro Regency has shown significant efforts in implementing Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. This is reflected in the implementation of an online application system, strict document verification, the use of biometric technology, and high document security standards. This work unit has also improved service efficiency through an integrated management information system, special services for certain groups, and increased transparency and accountability. However, there is still room for improvement and optimization to meet the expected service standards.  This study aims to analyze passport services in the Immigration Work Unit of Bojonegoro Regency and identify inhibiting factors in implementing passport services. The method in this study is empirical law by examining Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration in the Immigration Work Unit of Bojonegoro Regency. The results of this research are that the implementation of passport services in the Immigration Work Unit of Bojonegoro Regency has shown significant efforts in implementing the principles of Law Number 6 of 2011. This work unit seeks to improve service efficiency through the implementation of an integrated management information system and the provision of special services for certain groups; the factors inhibiting the implementation of passport services include a shortage of human resources in terms of quantity or quality, technological infrastructure that sometimes experiences disruptions, bureaucratic procedures that still need to be simplified.

Abstract

Prisons are institutions or places that are responsible for coaching inmates. One of the coaching programs is in the form of fostering independence in the Surabaya Class I Correctional Institution. The program's objectives include allowing inmates to interact with fellow inmates during their sentences and preparing them for reintegration into society. However, this independence development program has experienced several obstacles due to the prison conditions exceeding capacity. The purpose of this research is to find out the prison's independence development program and how the process of fulfilling the rights of prisoners is. The research method with a problem approach is carried out using a normative juridical method with the source of the Law of the 1945 Constitution, Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections. The data analysis used is a qualitative data analysis technique. The results of the study show that the Class I Correctional Institution of Surabaya has implemented the inmate development program (especially the development of independence). In addition to increasing knowledge and expertise in the field of skills, participating in prisoner independence coaching is a requirement to be able to obtain prisoner rights. However, the coaching held is still constrained by the overcapacity of residents and the ability of trainers to provide coaching; besides that, qualified facilities and infrastructure are still not used effectively due to the limitations of the existing situation, conditions, and places. With the results of this research, it is hoped that it can add insight and can be used as evaluation material for Surabaya Class 1 Prison.

Abstract

The inmate visit service is very effective in contributing to reducing the crime rate and improving public safety. As a forum for coaching, protecting and guiding inmates, correctional institutions hold a great responsibility to fulfill the goals of corrections. One of them is the fulfillment of the right to visit prisoners. The purpose of this study is to find out the legal provisions and how to implement the inmate visit service in the Class I Surabaya Correctional Institution. The method used in this study is through a qualitative descriptive approach. Data was taken through interviews with visiting officers, inmates and related parties, as well as by direct observation at the Surabaya Class I Correctional Institution. In addition, analysis of documents and related literature is also used to support the findings of the research. The results of the study show that the fulfillment of the right to visit services for inmates still faces various challenges. Factors such as relatively complicated administrative requirements policies, lack of adequate facilities, as well as lack of resources. This study also found several recommendations to improve the fulfillment of the right to visit services for inmates. Measures such as the formulation of clear and firm policies, the improvement of adequate visiting facilities, and the increase of understanding and awareness of visiting officers and other related parties regarding the importance of fulfilling the rights of prisoners are needed.

Abstract

Food and its processed products are a vital basic human need. Given that the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim, compliance with strict regulations regarding food types and halal requirements is mandatory in food selection. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of a clear legal status and a strong legal framework for halal certification within the national legal system. This research method uses a legal approach, which aims to answer various legal questions, both academically and practically, covering legal principles, applicable legal norms, and the implementation of existing laws. Data collection techniques include cataloging and determining the identity of laws and regulations, as well as systematically grouping and organizing legal materials according to the research objectives, so that the collected legal materials can be properly organized. The results of the study indicate that this is crucial for protecting Muslim consumers and ensuring food meets halal standards. Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection also emphasizes the importance of product safety for consumers. This study analyzes the legal aspects of halal certification for imported food products in Indonesia, identifies challenges in its implementation, and provides recommendations for improving the effectiveness of supervision and law enforcement related to halal certification.

Abstract

Aksi Bersih Sungai adalah sebuah inisiatif lingkungan yang bertujuan untuk membersihkan sungai dari sampah dan polutan lainnya. Kegiatan ini melibatkan partisipasi dari berbagai kelompok masyarakat, termasuk relawan, organisasi non-pemerintah, dan pemerintah lokal. Tujuan utama dari aksi ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan sungai sebagai sumber daya alam yang vital. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode pengabdian ABCD (Asset Based Community Development). Metode ini sebuah konsep pembangunan yang berpusat pada aset daerah, merupakan metodologi pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini. Daerah memiliki sumber daya yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan regional. Kegiatan bersih sungai di Desa Sumokembangsri, Kecamatan Balongbendo, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, Provinsi Jawa Timur, dimulai pada hari Minggu tanggal 28 Juli 2024 dengan tujuan menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih dan asri. Aksi ini juga berupaya untuk mengurangi dampak negatif terhadap ekosistem air dan meningkatkan kualitas air yang dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat sekitar. Aksi Bersih Sungai berfungsi sebagai sarana edukasi bagi masyarakat tentang praktik pengelolaan limbah yang bertanggung jawab dan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Kolaborasi dan partisipasi aktif, diharapkan aksi ini dapat menghasilkan perubahan positif dalam perilaku masyarakat terkait pelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

Kunggulan kompetitif telah menjadi fokus utama bagi banyak organisasi yang ingin bertahan dan berkembang di lingkungan bisnis yang semakin kompetitif. Sementara itu, MSDM memainkan peran kunci sebagai pengelola tenaga kerja perusahaan dan memastikan bahwa sumber daya manusia digunakan secara efektif. Studi ini bermaksud untuk memriksa pengaruh antara kunggulan kompetitif dan manajemen sumber daya manusia (MSDM) dengan kinerja perusahaan. Metodologi penelitian ini melibatkan desain kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dari 90 karyawan sektor publik dan swasta di Kota Surabaya. Desain purposive sampling sebagai pengukuran pada teknik pengambilan sampel di studi ini. Analisis statistik dipergunakan sebagai evaluasi pengaruh diantara variabel-variabel ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara kunggulan kompetitif dan kinerja perusahaan. Kunggulan kompetitif, yang mencakup strategi bisnis, inovasi, dan pelayanan pelanggan, memiliki kemampuan untuk memberikan keunggulan yang bersaing kepada perusahaan dalam lingkungan pasar yang penuh persaingan. Kemudian hasil antara MSDM yang efektif dan kinerja perusahaan yang baik memberikan pengaruh secara signifikan. Keefisienan MSDM memberikan dukungan strategi bisnis terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang baik.

Abstract

"Eco" (ecosystem) means nature, and "Print" means printing. These two words are combined into the word ecoprint. This method was developed with the aim of producing high-quality artwork using natural materials as dyes and design motifs. Leather is one of the materials used to make the ecoprint process. Namely leaves and plant flowers. Although each fabric uses the same type of plant leaves, the ecoprint process uses natural materials to create unique themes and patterns on each fabric. Using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) service method in the form of an approach by increasing community participation so that they can participate in the activity. This activity begins by determining the right day and date of implementation after that conducting observations and permission from the principal at MI Ihatta and MI Miftahul Ulum schools to be able to carry out activities at the school, in addition, ecoprint training activities are also held in the yard of the village hall office. There are several ways to make ecoprints, including (1) turning the tote bag inside out, (2) lining the inside with plastic so that the resulting color does not spread, (3) arranging several plant shapes on the tote bag and using the leaves and flowers, (4) after that cover the arranged plant parts using other plastic, (5) hit it using a stone or hammer slowly while holding the plastic cover so that the results obtained are not messy, (6) and the last stage is removing the remains of the plants that are stuck to the tote bag, after that turning the tote bag back to its original position and forming several beautiful motifs from the plant parts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the legal basis or legal considerations of the panel of judges in deciding Civil Case Number 29/Pdt.G/2023/PN.Mjk. To find out these problems, the author uses Normative Research methods, legislative approaches, scientific journals, court decisions, with Library data collection techniques, and descriptive and qualitative analysis.The result of the author's analysis is that he disagrees with the judge's consideration in deciding the case, with considerations including the existence of procedures or conditions for the legal acquisition of sale and purchase of land based on Legislation, as well as the existence of a Supreme Court Circular Letter governing Good Faith Buyers, and the absence of strict regulations governing legal protection for good faith buyers, causing multiple interpretations of existing rules and resulting in different court decisions even in the same type of case.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 telah mengakibatkan dampak signifikan pada ketahanan pangan dan ekonomi masyarakat, terutama di daerah pedesaan. Di Desa Terungwetan Krian, banyak keluarga menghadapi kesulitan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan sehat akibat terbatasnya akses ke pasar. Solusi yang diusulkan adalah penerapan budidaya hidroponik, yang memungkinkan masyarakat menanam sayuran di lahan terbatas, berupa pekarangan rumah. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini menerapkan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang melibatkan masyarakat dalam proses identifikasi masalah, pelatihan, dan evaluasi hasil. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa setelah pelatihan, peserta dapat merawat sistem hidroponik dan menghasilkan sayuran seperti selada dan kangkung, yang  memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga, dan memberikan peluang ekonomi baru melalui penjualan hasil panen. Meskipun terdapat tantangan dalam pengelolaan nutrisi tanaman, program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga serta kemandirian pangan. Disarankan untuk melanjutkan pendampingan dan membentuk kelompok tani hidroponik guna memperkuat keberlanjutan budidaya ini. Dengan langkah-langkah tersebut, diharapkan budidaya hidroponik dapat terus berkembang dan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap ketahanan pangan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di masa depan.
