Abstract

This study investigates the operations of unlicensed zakat institutions, with particular attention to problems such as the absence of accountable reporting, the misallocation of zakat funds away from legitimate beneficiaries (mustahik), and the emergence of fraudulent claimants (jockeys). This study adopts a qualitative approach with an exploratory design to understand the phenomenon of zakat institutions' non-compliance with sharia principles, particularly in the context of legality and governance. The findings reveal structural and operational shortcomings contributing to non-compliance and misalignment with existing policies. The study advocates a shift in research orientation from predominantly ritualistic dimensions toward justice-oriented and religiously humanist policy frameworks. It emphasizes the need to prioritize equitable distribution over technocratic classifications of mustahik while resisting communal or political domination, particularly in political networks. The politicization of zakat, particularly in the context of the 2024 election, has undermined its spiritual and social objectives. Ensuring compliance with sharī‘ah principles is therefore crucial for establishing legal certainty, strengthening public trust, and enabling zakat to realize its full potential as a transformative instrument for community empowerment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Central Post-Stroke Pain (CPSP) is a chronic neuropathic complication of stroke that substantially impairs long-term well-being. While its clinical characteristics are increasingly recognized, data regarding the multidimensional quality of life (QoL) impact of CPSP in regional Indonesian populations remain limited. This study aimed to describe the QoL profile of CPSP patients at Arifin Achmad General Hospital to provide a comprehensive understanding of the disease burden. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from August to October 2025 at the Neurology Outpatient Clinic of Arifin Achmad General Hospital, Riau. Forty-four patients diagnosed with CPSP were included. QoL was assessed using the validated Indonesian version of the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life (SS-QoL) scale. Descriptive univariate analysis was performed to determine median scores across domains. Results: QoL scores demonstrated marked heterogeneity across domains. The Vision domain showed the highest median score (4.0), whereas Social Role recorded the lowest (2.7). Notable reductions were observed in Work, Upper Extremity Function, and Energy domains. In contrast, Language and Self-care domains were relatively preserved. These findings indicate that although basic functional abilities may remain intact, CPSP significantly compromises social participation, occupational capacity, and physical activity. Conclusion: CPSP imposes a substantial multidimensional burden, particularly affecting social engagement, productivity, and physical endurance. Comprehensive management strategies extending beyond pharmacological pain control are essential to address the psychosocial and functional consequences of CPSP. Further longitudinal studies with larger sample sizes are needed to clarify determinants of QoL outcomes in this population.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the influence of water play models and aquatic-based learning on motor skill development and anxiety control in elementary school swimming education. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Articles published between 2021 and 2024 were retrieved from ScienceDirect, Springer, and PubMed using keywords related to water play models, aquatic interventions, motor skills, and anxiety regulation. Of the 30 articles initially identified, five high-quality studies (Q1–Q2 indexed journals) met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using a thematic synthesis approach. The findings indicate that structured water play activities significantly improve fundamental motor skills, including balance, coordination, and body control, while simultaneously reducing anxiety levels and physiological stress responses in children. Three main patterns were identified: (1) enhancement of motor proficiency through task-oriented aquatic activities, (2) reduction of anxiety through enjoyable and low-pressure water learning environments, and (3) the role of play-based aquatic pedagogy in fostering inclusive and student-centered physical education settings. This review confirms that water play models function not only as strategies for improving motor competence but also as effective approaches to supporting children’s emotional regulation.

Abstract

Overtraining and non-contact injuries represent critical issues in the development of adolescent basketball athletes and may compromise long-term performance progression. Overtraining is defined as a maladaptive condition resulting from an imbalance between training load and recovery, whereas non-contact injuries are primarily associated with impaired neuromuscular control and biomechanical risk factors in the absence of external contact. This conceptual article aims to analyze the relationship between overtraining, neuromuscular fatigue, altered movement control, and high-risk biomechanical patterns contributing to non-contact injuries, while outlining practical prevention implications relevant to the Indonesian youth sport context. A narrative review approach was conducted using scientific publications from 2015 to 2025. The findings indicate that high training volume and intensity, early sport specialization, limited program variation, and insufficient load monitoring and recovery strategies contribute substantially to injury risk. The most frequently reported injuries include ankle sprains, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, and hamstring strains. Preventive strategies include structured periodization, developmentally appropriate variation in training, load monitoring using session rating of perceived exertion (sRPE), and systematic recovery education.

Abstract

Physical activity is an important factor that contributes to physiological health, as well as the psychological well-being of an individual. Participation in sport has increasingly been associated with higher levels of happiness, subjective well-being, and the development of meaning in life. However, the philosophical dimensions of sport participation remain relatively underexplored within the field of sport science literature. This study aims to examine the relationship between sport participation, happiness, and meaning in life through a narrative literature review approach. The literature search was conducted across several international academic databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, using keywords related to physical activity, psychological well-being, happiness, and meaning in life. Approximately 40 relevant scientific publications were analyzed thematically to identify psychological and philosophical mechanisms linking sport participation to human well-being. The findings indicate that physical activity contributes to happiness through several mechanisms, including the enhancement of subjective well-being, the strengthening of self-efficacy, emotional regulation, and the fulfillment of basic psychological needs as described in Self-Determination Theory. In addition, experiences of challenge, achievement, and social engagement in sport play a significant role in helping individuals develop a sense of meaning in life. Therefore, sport should not only be viewed as a physical activity aimed at improving bodily health but also as an important medium for fostering psychological well-being and meaningful living. These findings highlight the importance of promoting sport participation within society as part of a broader strategy to improve overall quality of life.

Abstract

This study stems from the importance of developing empathy in junior high school students as a foundation for prosocial character building and the prevention of negative behaviors such as bullying. Audio-visual media is considered capable of providing a more meaningful learning experience through a combination of verbal and visual messages that stimulate students' emotional involvement. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of audio-visual media-assisted information services in increasing the empathic attitudes of eighth-grade students at SMP 1 Karanganyar, Demak. The research subjects consisted of 30 eighth-grade E students selected using purposive sampling from a total population of 210 eighth-grade students. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The data collection instrument was an empathy attitude scale that had been tested for validity and reliability (α = 0.87). The results of the data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental group (t = 5.47; p < 0.05), while the control group did not show a significant difference. These findings indicate that audio-visual media-assisted information services are effective in increasing student empathy, with an average score increase of 12.87 points, which is much higher than the control group, which only increased by 1.40 points. The originality of this study lies in the application of audiovisual-based information services in the context of junior high schools with a rigorous quasi-experimental design, thus providing stronger empirical evidence than previous descriptive studies. The implications of this study encourage school counselors to integrate audio-visual media into guidance services, while further research is recommended to test the sustainability of the intervention effects through follow-up tests and expand the subjects in various educational contexts.

Abstract

The development of students’ non-academic potential through soccer extracurricular activities at the junior high school level is often hindered by limited internal school resources; therefore, a systematic approach that involves active parental support is needed to successfully foster students’ interests and talents. This study aims to comprehensively analyse the impact of various forms of parental support on the sustainability of soccer extracurricular programs at the junior high school level in Pekanbaru City. This study employs a qualitative approach using an Intrinsic Case Study design at three junior high schools (SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru, SMP Negeri 5 Pekanbaru, and SMP Negeri 10 Pekanbaru). Data were collected through triangulation (observation, interviews, and documentation) from parents, students, and coaches. The results indicate that parental support is vital and multidimensional, encompassing financial, moral, and logistical factors. This multifaceted support collectively has a significant impact on improving the quality of the development program. The conclusion affirms that parental support is a determining factor and catalyst for the success of a soccer extracurricular program. The implications of this study recommend establishing a structured parent-school partnership model to more comprehensively optimize the development of students’ interests and talents.

Abstract

Cooperatives in Indonesia play an important role as pillars of the people’s economy; however, millennial participation remains relatively low despite this group being the largest demographic within the productive age range. This study aims to analyze millennials’ perceptions of cooperatives and identify the factors that influence their engagement, including perceived benefits, social norms, and ease of participation. A quantitative approach with descriptive and explanatory designs was employed, involving an Indonesian millennial population of approximately 88 million individuals. The research sample consisted of 212 millennial respondents aged 25–40 years from various regions of Indonesia, collected through an online questionnaire based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. The findings indicate that perceived benefits, social norms, and ease of participation significantly contribute to millennial involvement in cooperatives, with social norms emerging as the most dominant factor. These results highlight that millennials’ motivation to join cooperatives is not only driven by economic benefits but is also strongly influenced by social support and the accessibility of cooperative services. The study recommends that cooperatives strengthen educational programs, enhance community-based engagement, and accelerate the adoption of digital innovations to attract millennial interest and ensure cooperative sustainability in the digital economy era.

The success of this system's implementation is greatly influenced by the readiness of business actors, including Fish Processing Units (UPI) as an important part of the processing and distribution process. This community service aims to provide assistance in the implementation of Stelina at 16 UPIs in Malang Regency. The DM-PK team provided assistance in the implementation of Stelina at UD Dhaden Kurnia Abadi, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency. The implementation method included socialization, mentoring, and evaluation of Stelina adoption readiness. Socialization activities were carried out to deepen understanding of the features, requirements, and challenges of implementing the Stelina application. Evaluation of adoption readiness used the UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) questionnaire approach and Likert scale assessment. The explanation of the urgency of traceability in food products and the Stelina application from the DM-PK UB team, the Malang Regency Fisheries Service, and the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in the FGD was well received by UPI. All UPIs were classified at the expert and experienced levels, indicating their readiness to adopt the Stelina application. The success of Stelina implementation depends heavily on the commitment and consistency of business actors in inputting data routinely and accurately. The Dadhen Mandiri Farmers Group in Malang Regency is a clear example that collaboration between business actors, government, and academics can make the implementation of this system run effectively. Keywords: Adoption; Traceability; Fisheries; Stelina; Fish Processing Unit.
