Abstract

This research analyzes educational programs in New Zealand through a comprehensive literature study, focusing on educational policies, curriculum structures, teaching methods, as well as challenges and solutions in overcoming educational gaps. The results show that education policy in New Zealand is very progressive and innovative, with initiatives such as "Digital Technologies & Hangarau Matihiko" integrating digital technologies into all aspects of education. The national curriculum, The New Zealand Curriculum (NZC), emphasizes the development of key competencies such as critical thinking and collaboration, and provides flexibility for schools to adapt learning programs to suit student needs. New Zealand teaching methods are very student-centred and based on active and collaborative learning, supported by the widespread use of technology. Despite this, challenges in overcoming educational disparities remain, especially regarding differences in academic achievement between students from various socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. The New Zealand government has launched various programs to address these challenges, with positive results but requiring sustained effort. The conclusions of this research indicate that curriculum flexibility, student-centred teaching approaches, and technology integration are key factors supporting the success of the education system in New Zealand, providing valuable insights for improving education systems in other countries

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out and explain: 1) The contribution of school principal compensation to teacher performance. 2) The contribution of teacher commitment to teacher performance. 3) Contribution of school principal compensation and teacher commitment together to teacher performance in the SDN Batang Cenaku District. This type of research is a correlational quantitative study. The population in this study were all elementary school teachers who had become Civil Servants in Cenaku Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency, which numbered 110 people. The sample of this research was taken using stratified proportional random sampling technique, The sample of this study was 93 people. Data collection techniques in this study used for data collection were questionnaires. Data analysis using correlation and regression techniques. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded as follows: 1) Compensation contributes to the performance of elementary school teachers with a contribution rate of 10.5%, this means that compensation contributes to teacher performance. 2) Commitment contributes to the performance of elementary school teachers with a magnitude of 9.4%. Thus, a significant commitment to teacher performance. This means that the better the commitment, the better the teacher's performance in carrying out their duties, and vice versa. 3) Compensation and commitment together contribute to teacher performance by 18.5%. This explains that to improve good and ideal teacher performance should be done through increased compensation and commitment.

Abstract

This study aims at know the comparison of Basic Education Indonesia and Japan by using five indicators, namely the objectives of Education, education management, education budget, education personnel and salaries, and the process of evaluation of learning. The method used in this research is the study of literature with a qualitative descriptive approach to see the comparison of basic education in Indonesia and Japan, the study of literature using a qualitative descriptive approach is to gather a number of references relevant to the topic of this study. The reference is taken from national journals and international journals which are then reviewed according to the needs in this study. The results of the study shows that the comparison of Basic Education Indonesia can be seen from four aspects, namely This is due to several indicators, namely (1) differences in education objectives, (2) education management; (3) Japan Education budget; (4) his education and salary; and (5) learning processes and evaluations. This study only emphasizes on five indicators of Basic Education of Indonesia and Japan. there are gaps that can be filled by subsequent research, namely curriculum, political system, character education, and so forth. This research should contribute to the policy makers of the Indonesian Education system in order to apply the five indicators of Japanese basic education to the Indonesian basic education system.

Abstract

An organization needs to continuously change to stay abreast of dynamic, complex, and sometimes unpredictable environmental developments. School organizational development is an important form of change, but its success is influenced by various factors, including internal factors in the form of individual factors. These individual factors are closely related to each member in the organization. This study aims to analyze individual factors in organizational development at SD IT Madani Islamic School 3 Padang, focusing on relationships between members, cooperation, and financial factors, and reviewing their suitability with existing basic concepts. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation and interviews. The results showed that individual factors have an influence in supporting organizational development, where harmonious relationships between members, good cooperation, and employee financial stability enable program implementation to run smoothly and effectively. These findings confirm that management's attention to interpersonal aspects and employee conditions is key to the success of school organizational development.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of using folklore-based character education materials in improving reading literacy and social care understanding among elementary school students. Employing a comparative quantitative design, the research involved 74 students, divided into experimental and control groups, each consisting of 37 students. The experimental group received education materials integrating folklore, while the control group used standard print teaching materials. Data were collected through tests measuring reading literacy and social care understanding, both before and after the intervention. The results showed that the experimental group had an average reading literacy score of 69.07, higher than the control group's 58.94. In understanding social care, the experimental group also excelled with an average score of 77.37, compared to 66.99 in the control group. ANOVA tests revealed significant differences between the two groups, with an F Statistic of 13.46 and a P-value of 0.000464 for reading literacy, and an F Statistic of 19.71 and a P-value of 0.000032 for social care understanding. These findings indicate that the use of folklore-based education materials significantly contributes to improving reading literacy and social care understanding among students, demonstrating the potential of this approach in character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Indonesia menghadapi tantangan besar dalam sistem manajemen pendidikannya, terlihat dari peringkatnya yang berada di posisi 72 dari 77 negara. Sistem pendidikan Indonesia membutuhkan perhatian dan perbaikan yang signifikan. Meskipun demikian, negara ini memiliki banyak ahli pendidikan yang berpotensi besar untuk mengubah dan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Salah satu strategi yang efektif adalah dengan mempelajari dan membandingkan sistem pendidikan Indonesia dengan negara yang memiliki sistem manajemen pendidikan unggul, seperti Jepang. Sistem pendidikan Jepang menekankan pada pengajaran prinsip-prinsip moral, kesopanan, dan kedisiplinan sejak usia dini serta menerapkan ujian yang tidak terlalu membebani siswa di tingkat dasar. Pelajaran dan praktik terbaik dari Jepang dapat diadopsi dan disesuaikan untuk memperbaiki sistem manajemen pendidikan Indonesia, mengarahkannya ke jalur yang benar untuk mencapai peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

Ramayulis merupakan seorang tokoh pendidikan Islam, tenaga dan pemikirannya disumbangkan untuk kemajuan pendidikan Islam di Sumatera Barat, inilah yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini, jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan studi pustaka dan studi lapangan serta metode sejarah dengan langkah-langkah berikut: mengumpulkan sumber, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Hasil temuan Pertama, tentang riwayat hidup Prof. Dr. H. Ramayulis lahir 04 Maret 1945 dari pasangan Sutan Janun dan Soyo’. Kedua, tentang latar belakang pendidikan Ramayulis mulai dari Sekolah Rakyat, Thawalib, Pendidikan Guru Agama, IAIN sampai jadi guru besar pendidikan Islam, Ketiga, peranan Ramayulis dalam pengembangan pendidikan Islam di Sumatera Barat, sebagai pendidik, pemimpin, praktisi dan pemikir. Ramayulis memiliki banyak karya diantara Ilmu Pendidikan Islam, Sejarah Pendidikan Islam, Psikologi agama dan lain-lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Perubahan Pola Pemukiman Masyarakat Ulu 7 Sungai Musi Kota Palembang pada dasarnya disesuaikan dengan ciri-ciri ekologis dari lingkungan pemukiman dengan memiliki jumlah penduduk terbesar yang berada di daerah-daerah yang memiliki irigasi dan pertambahan penduduk akan memerlukan perubahan structural pemukiman sedemikian rupa sehingga terbentuk konsentrasi urban dalam lingkungan. Pemukiman pingiran sungai musi tercatat selalu terjadi peningkatan jumlah penduduk dari tahun ketahun. Mengunakan pedekatan penelitian yaitu kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Untuk pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi non partisipan, wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian pada perubahan pola pemukiman masyarakat Ulu Tujuh Sungai Musi Kota Palembang, yaitu bentuk perubahan pola pemukiman salah satunya pola pemukiman memanjang dan bentuk perubahan konstruksi bangunan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dinamika konflik warga dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat Kerinci. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan,literasi, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dinamika konflik warga masyarakat dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat kerinci terjadi dipengaruhi dari berbagai aspek social seperti geografi,sosiologi, ekonomi dan sejarah dan dan dampak dari konflik dapat dikaji malalui perspektif pendidikan ilmu pengetahuan sosial

Abstract

Artikel ini akan menjelaskan dan mendeskripsikan pola perubahan interaksi dalam keluarga pada masyarakat Air Batumbuk Jalur Pendakian Gunung Talang. Teori yang membantu menganalisis temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori perubahan sosial dari Veblen dan Ogburn sebagai kaum teknokratis dalam perspektif Materialistis. Veblen melihat masyarakat sangat ditentukan oleh teknologi. Ia terutama memusatkan perhatian pada pengaruh teknologi terhadap pikiran dan perilaku manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pemilihan informan dengan purposive sampling. Jumlah informan secara keseluruhan adalah 10 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Wawancara yang dilakukan yaitu teknik wawancara mendalam dan observasi yang dilakukan yaitu teknik observasi non-partisipasi. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman (Model analisa Interaktif) yaitu reduksi data, model data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa adanya pengaruh teknologi yang mengakibatkan adanya perubahan pola interaksi di Kawasan pada masyarakat Air Batumbuk Jalur Pendakian Gunung Talang yaitu dari interaksi secara langsung (tatap muka) menuju interaksi dengan menggunakan gadget. Interaksi secara langsung pada saat sekarang ini hanya ditemukan di malam hari saja yaitu pada saat makan malam maupun menonton televisi saja. Selain itu perubahan pola interaksi tersebut juga berdampak pada kekuasaan orang tua yang semakin berkurang, pemberian perhatian terhadap anak semakin besar dan fungsi keluarga yang semakin kecil
