Abstract

he purpose of this study is to map the development and direction of Islamic Studies Curriculum research published in Scopus-indexed journals between 1980 and 2023. A bibliometric research design was applied, utilizing data extracted from the Scopus database. The analysis was conducted using Excel and R/R-Studio, while VOSviewer was employed to visualize keyword co-occurrence networks and citation relationships. The findings reveal a total of 595 relevant publications that met the established criteria. The annual growth rate of research output was 9.26%, with 2022 identified as the peak year for publications. Indonesia was the country contributing the largest number of studies, with strong affiliations from institutions such as Riphah International University. In terms of authorship, Arvisais, O. emerged as the most prolific author within this research domain. Furthermore, the bibliometric mapping highlighted dominant thematic clusters including curriculum design, Islamic education, learning outcomes, and religious values. The implications of this study suggest that research on the Islamic Studies Curriculum is gaining increasing attention globally, particularly in Southeast Asia, and that there are significant opportunities for collaboration and innovation in this field. Future studies are recommended to expand the scope of analysis by including additional national and international databases beyond Scopus to capture a more comprehensive understanding of the research landscape.

Abstract

Reproductive health problems among children and adolescents are increasing. These problems can be prevented starting from a young age. Parents play a significant role in protecting children from sexual and reproductive health problems. Educational media are needed to improve parents' knowledge of reproductive health in elementary school age children so parents can provide this information to their children. Objective: To develop flashcards to support parents in educating children about reproductive health from an early age. Method: The study used a research and development method conducted from February-May 2024 in Kartasura, Sukoharjo. The ADDIE model was used as the stages in media development. One material expert and one media expert, ten parents in the small group evaluation, and 20 parents in the field evaluation tested the suitability of the media. This was followed by implementing media use with a one group pre- and post-test design involving 30 parents to assess the effectiveness of the media. The parents involved in this research were parents of elementary school children in grades 1-3. Data were collected using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using N-gain value. Results: Flashcard media was very suitable and effective (with the percentage of media feasibility in the experts’ assessment being 90%, small group evaluation 90.3% and 88.6% in the field evaluation). At the implementation stage, there was an increase in the average knowledge score before and after using flashcards with N-gain score was 0.43. Conclusion: Flashcards can be used for reproductive health education for parents of elementary school children.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service program is to improve Arabic language skills while strengthening Islamic values among Indonesian migrant children at Sanggar Bimbingan Gombak Utara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This program was designed to address the problems of low Arabic literacy, limited teaching methods, and weak understanding of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) among diaspora children. Through this initiative, it is expected to foster a young generation with basic Arabic proficiency, strong religious understanding, and confidence in maintaining their Islamic identity within a multicultural environment. The implementation method applied a participatory approach consisting of identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection stages. Several learning strategies were employed, including Joyful Learning Arabic, Al-Lughah wa Al-Hayah, Pelita Hikmah, Quiz Cahaya Iman, and Sanggar Qur’an. The activities were conducted interactively, involving lecturers, students, local teachers, and PRIM Malaysia to ensure program sustainability. The results show significant improvements both academically and socio-spiritually. Academically, children’s vocabulary mastery, simple conversation skills, and Qur’anic recitation with tajwid improved based on pre-test and post-test results. Socially, the program fostered greater self-confidence, active participation, and a stronger sense of community. Spiritually, the internalization of Islamic values was reflected in children’s daily attitudes and behavior. The program also produced simple teaching modules, online mentoring, and collaborative networks to support sustainability. Thus, this initiative not only addressed short-term needs but also built a relevant, sustainable learning ecosystem that can be replicated in other diaspora communities..

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' character at SMK Negeri 1 Sambirejo. By using a qualitative approach and phenomenological method, this study explores the role of PAI teachers as educators, mentors, evaluators, and motivators in shaping student character. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed by data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that PAI teachers have an important role in shaping student character through habituation of worship, exemplary, and moral and spiritual guidance. However, there are several challenges in the implementation of character education, such as low student discipline and motivation, the negative influence of the social environment, and the lack of family support. Supporting factors such as the character-based curriculum and school policies that support religious education help overcome these obstacles. This study confirms that a sustainable approach and synergy between teachers, schools and families are needed to create strong student characters that are in line with Islamic values.

Abstract

Parents are the primary source of information for adolescents, but many parents lack an understanding of health materials. For knowledge to be increased, health media, one of which is audiovisual media, are desirable. This study aimed to develop audiovisual media on adolescents’ reproductive health. Media development utilized the analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE) model. The respondents in this study were parents of adolescents aged 10–14 years, comprising 10 parents in the small group evaluation, 20 in the field evaluation, and 10 in the implementation stage. The effectiveness of the media was tested through pretests and posttests. Using a questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, the data were collected. The effectiveness of the media was analyzed using N-gain. The results revealed that the seven audiovisual media were suitable for use. At the implementation stage, the N-gain value was 0.55, indicating that the video effectively increased parents’ knowledge of reproductive health. Developing audiovisual media on reproductive health is effective for parents. To ensure parents truly grasp reproductive health information, health institutions should consider creating interactive audiovisual resources. This format would make the material more accessible and comprehensible.
