Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Pangkalpinang, focusing on the roles of compensation, technology use, work stress, and organizational commitment. The rise of turnover among younger employees has created organizational instability, making it crucial to understand the determinants that shape their decision to remain or leave. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 110 Gen Z employees through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire, and the relationships among variables were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that work stress has a strong positive and significant effect on turnover intention, indicating that heightened psychological pressure directly increases employees’ desire to leave. Compensation and technology use significantly increase organizational commitment, yet neither variable shows a direct effect on turnover intention. Furthermore, organizational commitment does not mediate the influence of compensation, technology use, or work stress on turnover intention, suggesting that commitment is not a decisive psychological mechanism for employee retention among Generation Z. The study highlights the need for organizations to prioritize stress management, digital support systems, and workplace well-being strategies to reduce turnover. Future research is recommended to examine additional psychological and contextual variables that may better explain retention among younger workers

Abstract

Entrepreneurial readiness has emerged as a crucial personal capability for university students in facing increasingly competitive labor markets and disruptive economic changes. While financial literacy, creativity, and self-efficacy have been widely identified as determinants of entrepreneurial behavior, limited studies have examined the psychological mechanism of resilience in mediating these relationships, particularly at the pre-startup stage. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, creativity, and self-efficacy on students’ entrepreneurial readiness with resilience as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative explanatory design, survey data was collected from 176 university students interested in entrepreneurship. A structured Likert-scale questionnaire was distributed using purposive sampling, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with a Partial Least Squares approach (SEM-PLS). The results reveal that creativity and self-efficacy significantly enhance entrepreneurial readiness, while financial literacy has only a weak effect. In addition, creativity and self-efficacy significantly improve resilience; however, resilience does not influence entrepreneurial readiness and fails to mediate the relationships among the studied variables. These findings indicate that entrepreneurial readiness among students is primarily driven by cognitive creativity and internal belief systems rather than financial knowledge or resilience. The study highlights the need for entrepreneurship education that prioritizes creativity and self-efficacy development before financial or resilience training.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to examine how the financial performance of agricultural sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2020 and 2024 is impacted by liquidity, leverage, and profitability. Return on Equity (ROE) is the dependent variable used to measure financial performance, while Current Ratio (CR), Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER), and Return on Assets (ROA) are the independent variables used to measure liquidity, leverage, and profitability. Using secondary data from 24 businesses over a five-year period of observation, panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach is the analysis technique employed. The findings demonstrated that ROA has a positive and significant impact on ROE, whereas DER has a negative and significant impact. In the meantime, ROE is not significantly impacted by CR. With an R-squared value of 0.6922, which indicates that 69.22 percent of ROE variation can be explained by CR and DER, the three independent variables simultaneously have a significant impact on financial performance.

Abstract

The life insurance industry is a knowledge-intensive and service-oriented sector in which organizational performance depends heavily on employee competence, ethical conduct, and discretionary work behavior. This study explores the role of Human Capital Management (HCM) and Work Ethics (WE) in predicting Organizational Citizenship Behavior directed toward the organization (OCB-O) and toward individuals (OCB-I), as well as their subsequent impact on employee performance. Drawing on the Resource-Based View, the study positions OCB as a behavioral mechanism through which human capital and ethical values are transformed into sustainable performance outcomes. This research adopts a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 250 employees working in life insurance companies in the Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity were rigorously assessed, and common method bias was examined using procedural and statistical techniques. The results indicate that both HCM and WE have significant positive effects on OCB-O and OCB-I. Work Ethics emerged as a stronger predictor of citizenship behaviors compared to HCM, highlighting the importance of integrity, responsibility, and discipline in fostering extra-role behavior. Furthermore, both dimensions of OCB significantly enhance employee performance, with OCB-I exerting a stronger influence than OCB-O. Mediation analysis confirms that OCB-O and OCB-I partially mediate the relationships between HCM, WE, and performance, with OCB-I functioning as the most influential behavioral pathway. This study contributes to the literature by distinguishing between organizational and interpersonal dimensions of OCB and demonstrating their differential roles in the life insurance industry. Practically, the findings emphasize the need for organizations to integrate strategic human capital practices with strong ethical values to foster citizenship behaviors that drive superior performance. Future research is encouraged to adopt longitudinal designs and explore moderating variables such as leadership style and organizational culture.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilisation, marketing creativity, and response speed on the marketing performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bangka Belitung Province, with customer experience positioned as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to MSMEs actively engaged in digital marketing practices. The data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed relationships. The findings indicate that marketing creativity and response speed have a significant positive effect on customer experience, whereas AI utilisation does not show a significant effect on customer experience. Furthermore, customer experience significantly influences marketing performance and serves as a mediating variable in the relationship between marketing creativity, response speed, and marketing performance. Specifically, marketing creativity and response speed contribute both directly and indirectly to improved marketing performance through enhanced customer experience. These results provide important theoretical contributions to digital marketing and customer experience literature, while offering practical implications for MSME managers and educational institutions in designing technology-oriented marketing strategies and entrepreneurship learning that prioritise creativity, responsiveness, and customer-centred approaches.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve product packaging quality and enhance understanding of food safety among MSME actors and vocational high school students in Tukak Village, South Bangka Regency. The main problems faced by local MSMEs include the use of simple packaging that does not meet food safety standards and the limited understanding of hygienic production practices. The activity was carried out through lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice involving 50 participants. The pre-test and post-test evaluations showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, rising from an average of 45% to 85%. In addition, technical skills such as selecting food-grade packaging materials, sealing techniques, sanitation and hygiene practices, and designing product labels also improved substantially. The attendance rate, participation, and enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated that the training methods implemented were effective and relevant to the needs of the MSMEs. This program contributed significantly to enhancing the competitiveness of local businesses while preparing vocational students as competent young entrepreneurs. The recommendations include the need for ongoing mentoring, improved access to quality packaging materials, and advanced training related to food product licensing.
