Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahu ke epektifan pendekatan tematik dan terpadu dalam pembelajaran bahasa di sekolah dasar. Dalam proses komunikasi selalu melibatkan tiga komponen pokok, yaitu komponen pengirim pesan (guru), komponen penerima pesan (peserta didik), dan komponen pesan itu sendiri yang biasanya berupa materi pelajaran. Proses pembelajaran tidak akan berjalan dengan baik apabila tidak adanya timbal balik atau komunikasi edukatif antara guru dan peserta didik. Pendekatan pembelajaran khususnya pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesa di tingkat sekolah dasar harus mengupayakan bagimana guru harus bisa memilih pendekatan yang sesuai dengan kondisi siswa. Karena kita ketahui bahwa siswa pada pase ABC sangat memerlukan perhatian khusus dimana pase-pase tersebut anak-anak mudah jenuh, malas, kurang disiplin dan lebih banyak maen-maennya sehingga perlu sekali guru menguasai banyak model dan pendekatan dalam pembelajaran dalam memotivasi peserta didik dalam belajar. Salah satu pendekatan yang bisa dipakai dalam pembelajaran bahasa adalah menggunakan pendekatan tematik dan terpadu. Metode penelitian ini dengan menggunakan kajian pustaka yang merupakan seluruh bahan bacaan yang mungkin pernah dibaca dan dianalisis, baik yang sudah dipublikasikan maupun sebagai koleksi pribadi. Kajian pustaka sering dikaitkan dengan kerangka teori atau landasan teori, yaitu teori-teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis objek penelitian, analisisnya menggunakan deskriptif menggunakan literatur yang sesuai dengan masalah yang diangkat. Dalam analisis tersebut menujukkan bahwa pendekatan tematik dan terpadu sangat epektif dalam pembelajaran bahasa di sekolah dasar.Kata kunci : Pendekatan Tematik dan Terpadu dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Direct Reading Activities (DRA) berbantuan media permaianan teka teki silang yang signifikan terhadap minat membaca siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 1 Naioni Kupang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian quasi eksperimental. Populasi adalah siswa SD Negeri 1 Naioni Kupang kelasV tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VB sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi: observasi, angket dan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan statistic inferensial dan uji t. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bawah nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 112,04 dan untuk kelas kontrol 91,72. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai uji-t pada taraf ???? 0,05 dengan df diperoleh nilai sig 0,000 < 0,05 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh Model Direct Reading Activities (DRA) Berbantuan Media Permaianan Teka Teki Silang pada Minat Membaca Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 1 Naioni Kupang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model advance organizer berpendekatan whole language berbantuan media cerita bergambar terhadap kualitas hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri Oehendak kota kupang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi (quasi experiment) dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian post-test only control group design. Data hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia diperoleh melalui tes hasil belajar. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 48 siswa. 25 siswa ditetapkan sebagai sampel, yang ditarik dengan teknik random sampling, pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode tes objektif. Data yang diperoleh di analisis menggunakan teknik analisis statistic deskriptif dan ANAVA satu jalur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan model advance organizer berpendekatan whole language berbantuan media cerita bergambar terhadap kualitas hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa SD.

Abstract

More serious concerns should be raised to cope with the degradation of noble values and wisdom behaviors of the children by the parents, teachers, and all educational stakeholders. Character education is one of the solutions to this issue. Building the character of elementary school children can be done through children literature and selecting appropriate reading materials based on their development level. This study aimed at describing the contribution of children literature in character education and selecting the children literature based on the elementary school children development level. It is a descriptive qualitative study in form of library research. Based on the data analysis, it was found that (1) the children literature contributes to the development of individual values reviewed from the aspects of emotion, intellectual, imagination, social, ethics, and religion of the children, as well as the value of education reviewed from aspects of exploration and discovery, language, beauty, multicultural insight, and reading habit; (2) the selection of children literature, must adjust to the development stage of the intelligence, moral, emotion and personalization, as well as language of the children. The appropriate readings for elementary school children in the stage of concrete operational (7-11 years old) are narrative books or story books, such as legend, adventure, or traditional literature, as well as poetical and drama learning

Abstract

Literacy activities are carried out through habituation activities for all students in the school environment. The lack of use of reading corners makes literacy learning achievements not as expected. This study aims to explore the implementation of the reading corner program, literacy activities, reading skills, and the character of fond of reading elementary school students. This type of research is descriptive explorative with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the reading corner program is part of the Bali Danu program, which is an attempt to update the previous program. The collection of books in the reading corner is used as reading material for school literacy activities, and educators use the reading corner as a place for discussion and self-development for students, especially in reading and storytelling activities. Through regular literacy activities and reading corners, students' reading skills and liking to read can be improved. In addition to using the reading corner as a place to read books, the reading corner becomes their class identity; there is a sense of belonging to the reading corner because students are directly involved in creating and maintaining the reading corner.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are as follows: 1) To explore the development of Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject to improve reading comprehension skills at SDN 1 Sukarara; 2) To analyze the product of the development of Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject in enhancing students' reading comprehension skills at SDN 1 Sukarara; 3) To identify the obstacles faced by teachers and students in implementing Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject at SDN 1 Sukarara. The methods of this research utilized a research and development approach, referring to the Research and Development (R&D) model by Borg and Gall. The population in this study consists of the entire number of male and female students at SDN 1 Sukarara, totaling 251 students, and the research sample was the fourth-grade class, comprising 30 students. This research was conducted from October to December 2023. The product trial included the tested product, trial subjects, and the implementation of the trial. Data collection techniques employed were interviews, questionnaires, written tests, and documentation. Research instruments consisted of: a) Instruments for Subject Matter Experts; b) Instruments for Media Experts; c) Questionnaire Instruments for Students; and d) Student Evaluation Test Instruments. Data analysis was conducted through validation and trial steps by calculating the obtained scores. The data collected in this research were both qualitative and quantitative. The research findings are as follows: 1) Based on validation results, revisions, and evaluations, there was an improvement in the assessment of the developed product, specifically showing positive outcomes for the Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media. The development of this Flip Chart media used the Borg and Gall development model, simplified into 7 steps: needs analysis, design, prototype creation, product revision, field trials, final revision, and utilization; 2) Based on the analysis of expert team validation regarding the quality of the developed product, the Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media falls under the "good" category. Observations during the trial process also indicated that students were enthusiastic about learning when using the developed Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media. The delivery of material using Flip Chart media was easily understood by students. In terms of learning outcomes, the use of Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media also had an impact on students' reading comprehension skills in the Indonesian language. Based on the post-test results given to 30 students, 26 students (87%) passed and 4 students did not pass (23%), classified as "good" learning achievement. This indicates that the development of Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media has the potential to facilitate students in learning; and 3) Obstacles in implementing Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject at SDN 1 Sukarara, including 1) Limited Resources, 2) Teacher Readiness Level; 3) Technical Constraints in Using Flip Chart; 4) Varied Student Participation Levels; 5) Lack of Administrative Support; 6) Resistance to Change; and 7) Limited Classroom Physical Conditions.

Abstract

Students' interest in reading is still low and there is still a lack of teaching materials that can increase interest in reading and student learning outcomes, especially when learning online. This study aims to produce a product in the form of thematic handout teaching materials based on picture stories on 8 sub-theme 3 themes for fourth-grade elementary school. This research is development research using the Borg and Gall model. The trial subjects in this study were 36 students of class IV. The data collection method used a questionnaire to obtain validity and practicality as well as reading interest and learning outcomes tests for effectiveness. Data collection instruments in the questionnaire consisted of content/material expert instruments, media expert instruments, design expert instruments, practitioner practicality sheets, student response questionnaires, reading interest questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis used is quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that  the validity of the thematic handout teaching materials based on picture stories through content/material experts, media experts, and design experts was stated to be very good and feasible to use. The practicality of thematic handouts based on illustrated stories by teachers and students are 100% and 91.3% with very practical categories. The results of the effectiveness test obtained showed an average result of 0.76 for reading interest and 0.72 for learning outcomes in the high effectiveness category. So, it can be concluded that the thematic handout teaching materials based on picture stories are suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

In general, our students' reading ability is still low. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of learning reading strategies on the ability to read narrative texts and explanatory texts in fourth grade elementary school students. This research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi experiment). The research design used was a pretest-posttest control-group design. The population of this study was 111 students, while the sample in this study was 76 students. The independent variable in this research is learning reading strategies, while the dependent variable is students' ability to read narrative texts and students' ability to read explanatory texts. The data collection method used is the test method. The collected data on students' ability to read narrative text and ability to read explanatory text were analyzed using the MANOVA statistical analysis technique. Based on the research that has been conducted, it was found that first, there is a significant influence of learning reading strategies on the ability to read narrative texts of fourth grade elementary school students. Second, there is a significant influence of reading strategy learning on the ability to read explanatory texts of fourth grade elementary school students. Third, Simultaneously, there is a significant influence of reading strategy learning on the ability to read narrative texts and the ability to read explanatory texts in fourth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk bahasa persuasif Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru pada kanal Watchdoc Image,  teknik persuasif Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru pada kanal Watchdoc Image, dan relevansi bentuk bahasa dan teknik persuasif Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru pada kanal Watchdoc Image terhadap pembelajaran teks persuasif di SMP. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah video Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru pada kanal Watchdoc Image. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah bahasa persuasif pada Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi. Tahapan analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru menggunakan empat macam bentuk bahasa persuasif yang terdiri atas bentuk bahasa persuasif berupa ajakan sebanyak 4 kutipan, bentuk bahasa persuasif berupa anjuran atau saran sebanyak 13 kutipan, bentuk bahasa persuasif berupa perintah sebanyak 3 kutipan, dan bentuk bahasa persuasif berupa penegasan sebanyak 5 kutipan, Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru menggunakan tiga macam teknik persuasif  yang terdiri atas teknik persuasif asosiasi sebanyak 6 kutipan, teknik persuasif ganjaran sebanyak 2 kutipan, dan teknik persuasif tataan sebanyak 2 kutipan; dan Ekspedisi Indonesia Biru memiliki relevansi terhadap pembelajaran teks persuasif pada jenjang SMP.

Abstract

Mahasiswa calon guru membawa gagasan dan preferensi mereka ke dalam ruang kelas, yang dapat memengaruhi bagaimana bahasa diajarkan dan dipahami oleh generasi siswa mendatang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif mengenai preferensi mahasiswa calon guru sekolah dasar terhadap pendekatan pembelajaran bahasa. Desain penelitian mix-methods yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah concurren embedded mixed methods. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Pemilihan sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Adapun jumlah sampel yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 112 mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode non-tes dengan instrumen berbentuk kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode statistik deskriptif seperti analisis frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi pandangan terhadap efektivitas pendekatan pembelajaran bahasa. Sementara sebagian besar mahasiswa calon guru melihat pendekatan tematik terpadu dan whole language sebagai yang paling efektif. Hal ini didasarkan pada potensi pendekatan tematik terpadu dan whole language dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa secara komprehensif. Selain itu, Sebagian besar responden menyatakan kesiapan mereka dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan metode pembelajaran bahasa berdasarkan pendekatan pilihan mereka. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berharga terhadap pemahaman tentang perspektif mahasiswa calon guru serta memberikan gambaran untuk penelitian lanjutan terkait dengan pengembangan pendidikan guru yang lebih efektif.
