Abstract

This study aims to examine the importance of public image for schools in the era of globalization. A positive school image not only attracts the interest of prospective new students, but also increases community support and strengthens the school's existence in the midst of increasingly fierce competition. This study found that administrative and public relations personnel have a crucial role in shaping the school's image. Administrative personnel are the vanguard of interaction with the community, while public relations functions as a bridge between the school and the community. Both play an important role in building positive relationships and managing public perception of schools. A positive school image can be built through various strategies, such as improving the performance of all school components, establishing cooperation with various parties, improving services, and highlighting achievements. In addition, transparency in school management, as well as creating a conducive physical and learning environment are also important factors. This study concludes that public image is a long-term investment that provides significant benefits for schools.

Abstract

Schools as public institutions must be able to satisfy their customers. The paradigm of public service at the educational unit level should be changed from conventional conditions to conditions that are continuously updated so that when needed they are ready to provide services (on-service). School administrative staff must represent civil servants who are proactive, responsive and anticipatory towards the needs, aspirations and expectations of school stakeholders in accordance with Permendiknas Number 24 of 2008 concerning School Administrative Personnel Standards. Therefore, in addition to mastering various hard skills including technical skills, school administrative staff must also master various soft skills that are always displayed when providing services to create customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Abstract: In the inclusive education paradigm, children who have special needs are placed in regular classes with their peers. To ensure their success in learning, these children receive the necessary additional support. Such support may involve assistance from special teaching teachers, the use of special equipment, or adjustments in teaching methods. The goal of these steps is to create a more inclusive learning environment where diversity is valued, and every student is given equal opportunities to learn and grow. This inclusive approach not only promotes social integration, but also supports the academic development and empowerment of children with special needs. This research uses a qualitative approach with research methods, namely literature review and observation.

Abstract

An ironic situation has emerged where vocational school graduates, who are trained to be work-ready, have the highest unemployment rates. This study investigates the role of the community and students’ parents in promoting entrepreneurial careers among vocational school students in Malang, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, the research was conducted at three vocational high schools through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data reliability was ensured through credibility measures such as triangulation, verifying sources, and enhancing reference materials’ consistency and sufficiency. A multi-case design with constant comparative analysis was employed. The findings reveal several key roles of parents and communities in fostering entrepreneurship, namely: i) Entrepreneurship is taught theoretically and practically through business incubation, the Creative Entrepreneurship Program, and managing school business units; ii) Parents support entrepreneurship by purchasing students’ products, stocking the school canteen, collaborating in product sales, and participating in brainstorming sessions; iii) Schools partner with local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and national and international companies to train students; and iv) The community and parents assist in marketing students’ products, and some businesses related to the school’s program serve as practice venues for students. This study contributes theoretically as a reference on the role of parents and the community in encouraging entrepreneurship in vocational schools. Practically, it serves as a guide for school administrators to involve parents and the community in school entrepreneurial activities.

Abstract

Previous research shows that measuring the quality of student career centers in higher education is not yet fully standardized and is often limited to qualitative approaches. The lack of valid and reliable measuring tools regarding the student career center can hamper efforts to improve and develop this service. The aim of the research is to develop and test a scale for measuring the quality of student career centers in the context of higher education. A quantitative approach with exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used in this study, with respondents as many as 562 students from three different universities. Analysis and interpretation of the measurement scale evaluation was carried out in two stages, namely exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and continued with CFA. The research results identified that the dimensions of the role of career centers, utilization of career centers, management of workforce information, and fostering entrepreneurship are key elements that influence the effectiveness and impact of career centers in higher education. This scale can practically be used by each institution to evaluate the quality of the career centers they run, and can also be used by other researchers for further research.

Abstract

The division in the tarekat in Indonesia is a complex phenomenon that notonly involves aspects of spirituality, but is also influenced by historical dynamicsand socio-religious contexts. This article aims to trace the roots of the division of thetarekat by exploring the historical factors and social interactions that surround it.This study uses a qualitative approach with document-based data analysis methods,in-depth interviews, and participatory observation of tarekat communities in severalregions in Indonesia. The results of the study show that the division of the order isoften triggered by differences in the interpretation of spiritual teachings inherited bythe murshids or leaders of the order. In addition, the leadership factor is also the maintrigger when the leadership transition is not collectively agreed upon by its followers. In a historical perspective, colonialism and modernization have created afragmentation of religious identity that affects the existence of the tariqat as atraditional spiritual institution. Meanwhile, from the socio-religious side, thepressure of globalization and the pluralism of religious values have widened the gapbetween the followers of the tarekat.

Abstract

In the unpredictable digital age, it is imperative to guarantee the availability and use of learning facilities to maximize the success of hybrid-based learning, particularly for schools located in remote places. This research aims to find in-depth information about the management of learning facilities in assisting remote areas hybrid-based learning success. This study used a qualitative approach and a case study design. While in-depth interview and documentation studies were used in data collection, the study was conducted in three schools in remote areas with participants in this study including principals, teachers, students, and parents. The data obtained were also checked for credibility and data validity. The findings showed that the learning facilities management (LFM) in encouraging the successful application of hybrid learning in schools located in remote areas, showed the adequacy of the management of adequate facilities, but not on the management of facilities at home with some specificities found. This limitation is caused by economic and geographical factors, where many families in remote areas cannot afford the necessary learning devices or do not have stable internet access. This study has contributed to the literature on management of learning facilities in the post-pandemic period which can form the basis for further research in related fields.
