Abstract

The action of rejecting pro-Israel local goods in Indonesia has intensified in response to the ongoing Palestine–Israel conflict, with social media playing a pivotal role in mobilizing public sentiment. This study investigates the role of social media and religiosity on boycott behavior in the city of Medan. Employing a a quantitative technique through multiple linear regression analysis, data were gathered from 100 respondents who are active social media users and knowledgeable about the Palestinian issue. The results indicate that social media significantly influences boycott behavior (p = 0.044), while religiosity exerts an even stronger and highly significant effect (p = 0.001). Together, These elements explain 69.6% of the differences in boycott actions.The findings highlight that boycott behavior is not merely driven by emotions but is shaped by both digital information dissemination and deep-rooted religious values.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of MSMEs in Asahan Regency towards peer-to-peer lending-based capital financing services. This service is presented as a digital financing alternative that offers ease and speed in accessing capital, especially for MSMEs that have difficulty obtaining capital from conventional financing. This study used a qualitative approach with interviews with 10 MSMEs, consisting of five users and five non-users of P2P lending services. Data analysis was conducted using Nvivo 12 Pro software to identify perceptions based on five components: ease, benefits, risks, challenges, and trust. The results show that MSMEs who have used P2P lending services have a positive perception of the ease and benefits directly experienced from using P2P lending services. However, they also face risks and challenges in using P2P lending services. In contrast, MSMEs who have never used P2P lending services tend to have perceptions dominated by doubt, worry, and ignorance due to lack of experience. User trust is formed through direct experience, while non-user trust relies more on reputation and information from their surroundings.

Abstract

This qualitative study analyzes the survival strategies of traditional MSMEs in the digital era through a case study of Enrico Pasar Horas Traditional Spice MSME, which has been operating for more than 30 years, using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) analysis method to identify effective strategies for maintaining business existence without comprehensive digital technology adoption. The research findings indicate that SMEs can survive through three main strategies: value-based differentiation rooted in Islamic principles, emphasizing honesty and trustworthiness in maintaining product quality; Islamic relationship marketing that builds long-term relationships based on trust and fairness; and holistic sustainability that integrates economic, social, and environmental responsibilities in accordance with the objectives of Islamic law (maqashid syariah). The implementation of Islamic economic principles such as ash-shidq (honesty), amanah (trust), al-adl (justice), and mas'uliyyah (responsibility) has proven to create a sustainable competitive advantage through financial stability and strong customer loyalty, enabling SMEs to maintain their existence without relying entirely on digital technology in the modern economic transformation.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study is to examine the income earned by the palm sugar business community group in Bahorok District, Langkat Regency, through the lens of Maqashid Sharia. This research adopts a qualitative approach, with data collected through direct interviews with palm sugar entrepreneurs in the region. A total of ten respondents were selected from two villages in Bahorok District. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the palm sugar household industry in Bahorok District significantly contributes to improving the community’s economic conditions, as reflected in the income generated from sales. The production of palm sugar from processed palm sap plays a crucial role in increasing household income. Within the framework of Maqashid Sharia, production activities must prioritize the realization of benefits (maslahah) and the prevention of harm (mafsadah). The concept encompasses five key elements: the preservation of religion, life, lineage, intellect, and wealth. Based on the analysis, the most prominent aspect observed among palm sugar artisans in Bahorok District is the preservation of wealth (Hifdz al-Mal). This is evident from the way their income supports family health, education, food, and clothing needs, thereby ensuring their economic welfare. Moreover, the safeguarding of wealth is consistently aligned with income sources obtained through lawful means, in accordance with Islamic law, which is an absolute principle to be upheld.

Abstract

The use of plastic packaging in economic activities is increasing along with the rapid development of trade, especially through e-commerce, but this raises serious environmental problems. The main problem of this research is What are the environmental impacts caused by the use of plastic packaging. This study aims to analyze the environmental impacts of the use of plastic packaging using a literature review method. The results of the study indicate that plastic packaging contributes to land, water, and marine pollution, causes an increase in the volume of single-use waste, and has the potential to harm health through the accumulation of microplastics. The conclusion of the study emphasizes the need for real efforts from the government, business actors, and the community to reduce the use of plastic while promoting environmentally friendly packaging alternatives in order to support sustainable development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi sistem bagi hasil pada pembiayaan mudharabah. Pembiayaan mudharabah merupakan salah satu bentuk pembiayaan dalam sistem keuangan syariah yang melibatkan kerjasama antara pihak pemilik dana (shahibul maal) dan pihak pengelola dana (mudharib) untuk mendapatkan keuntungan bersama. Penelitian ini akan menganalisis bagaimana sistem bagi hasil diterapkan dalam pembiayaan mudharabah, serta dampak dan manfaatnya bagi kedua belah pihak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan analisis data sekunder. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang implementasi sistem bagi hasil pada pembiayaan mudharabah, serta rekomendasi untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam praktik keuangan syariah

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of business partnerships, agricultural technology adoption, and religiosity on farmers' welfare. The research was conducted among members of the Al-Mahdi Farmer Group in Percut Sei Tuan District using a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 52 respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that jointly, the three independent variables have a significant effect on farmers' welfare. Partially, the adoption of agricultural technology and religiosity have a positive and significant influence, while business partnerships do not have a significant impact. These findings indicate that improving farmers' welfare is not solely determined by technical aspects or economic cooperation, but is also strongly influenced by spiritual values and local cultural norms within farming communities. This study implies that sustainable agricultural development must integrate both technological and spiritual approaches to support holistic farmer well-being.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Sosial Engineering dan Cyber Crime terhadap Persepsi Keamanan Pengguna Aplikasi BSI Mobile. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh meningkatnya kasus kejahatan siber yang menyasar layanan perbankan digital, khususnya melalui teknik manipulatif seperti sosial engineering dan kejahatan siber lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 100 responden pengguna aktif aplikasi BSI Mobile. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil uji secara parsial menunjukkan bahwa baik Sosial Engineering maupun Cyber Crime memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap persepsi keamanan pengguna. Hasil uji simultan juga menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel tersebut secara bersama-sama berpengaruh signifikan terhadap persepsi keamanan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa aspek keamanan siber yang melibatkan faktor manusia dan teknis harus menjadi perhatian utama dalam pengembangan dan pengelolaan aplikasi mobile banking

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of Islamic Financial Behavior and pocket money on the online shopping decisions of students at State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). The rapid development of e-commerce has transformed consumption behavior; however, this phenomenon has also led to a decline in revenue for conventional traders. Students' online shopping decisions are not only influenced by the ease of platforms but also by individual financial behavior and financial capacity. Islamic Financial Behavior, based on sharia principles (avoiding wastefulness and prioritizing needs), and pocket money as the main determinant of students' purchasing power, are suspected to play a significant role. This associative quantitative research involved 100 UINSU student respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression (IBM SPSS Statistics 25). The t-test results indicate that Islamic Financial Behavior (t=4.279; p=0.000) and pocket money (t=9.306; p=0.000) individually have a significant effect on online shopping decisions. The F-test (simultaneous) confirms that both variables collectively have a significant effect (F=85.903; p=0.000). The coefficient of determination (R-square) of 0.639 (63.9%) shows the contribution of both variables in explaining online shopping decisions, while the remaining 36.1% is explained by other factors. These findings underscore the importance of Islamic financial principles and money management in shaping prudent online shopping decisions among Muslim students.

Abstract

Various models of choices that people have to invest their capital in the form of investment, including by investing their capital in the capital market. ISSI is present as one of the stock indicators that displays all sharia stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The purpose of this study is to see the level of interaction between inflation, exchange rates, BI rates, oil prices, and gold, and how this impacts the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) in the short and long term from 2015 to 2024. This study uses a quantitative approach using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method. The results of the VECM show three long-term variables—inflation, BI rates, and oil prices—and two short-term variables, namely gold prices and exchange rates. The results of the causality test show a two-way relationship between ISSI and the exchange rate. The results of the Variance Decomposition test show that oil prices make the largest contribution, namely 25.6 percent. followed by the exchange rate of 18.3 percent, inflation of 7.1 percent, BI rate of 6.9 percent and gold prices of 0.6 percent to the variation of ISSI. The results of the causality test show that the BI rate significantly affects the gold price, the oil price affects the exchange rate, the ISSI affects the exchange rate, and the exchange rate affects the ISSI. This confirms that the ISSI and the exchange rate have a strong causal relationship.
