Abstract

This research is motivated by the 2025 national budget efficiency policy which impacts limited education funding in the regions, especially when committee fees cannot be collected, so schools need to optimize management efficiency and build a strong school culture to maintain teacher performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of management efficiency and school culture on the performance of public vocational high school teachers in North Bengkulu Regency. The approach used is quantitative with a survey method of 57 teachers selected using the Isaac and Michael formula. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, linear regression, and multiple determination coefficients using SPSS 22. The results show that management efficiency and school culture have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a simultaneous contribution of 63.6%, where management efficiency is more dominant. The uniqueness of this study lies in the simultaneous testing of both variables in the context of the national budget efficiency policy, thus providing a contextual empirical picture. This research has implications for the importance of formulating integrated and sustainable school management policies and contributes to providing empirical evidence regarding effective strategies for maintaining teacher performance amidst limited education budgets.

Abstract

This study aims to develop feasible and practical ethnopedagogy-based Seni Dendang teaching materials to integrate character values at SDN South Bengkulu. Using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model, this research involved six expert validators (material, language, and media) and limited trials with teachers and fifth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and Likert-scale questionnaires, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using Aiken’s V index and the percentage agreement formula. Validation results showed a very high level of feasibility, with average scores of 0.86 from material experts (Highly Feasible), 0.83 from language experts (Highly Feasible), and 0.86 from media experts (Highly Feasible), with expert agreement reliability exceeding 81% (Very Strong). Field trial results demonstrated extraordinary practicality, with student responses reaching 97.71% and teacher responses at 98.33%. This study concludes that these character-based Seni Dendang teaching materials are effective and practical for use as a learning resource to enhance student character while systematically preserving local cultural identity in elementary schools. The significance of this research lies in its dual impact: practically, it provides a concrete solution to the deficit of contextually relevant learning resources by utilizing local wisdom as an active instrument for character building. Theoretically, it enriches the field of Educational Technology by demonstrating the successful integration of ethnopedagogy within the ADDIE framework to strengthen the national character values aligned with the Merdeka Belajar curriculum.

Abstract

Background/purpose. Teacher performance is a critical determinant of educational quality, yet it remains challenged by declining motivation and suboptimal work environments, particularly in developing countries. Materials/methods. This study examined the influence of intrinsic motivation and school climate on teacher performance among 72 public junior high school teachers in Empat Lawang District, South Sumatra, Indonesia, using a quantitative cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected through validated questionnaires (intrinsic motivation: α = .960; school climate: α = .866; teacher performance: α = .938) and analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression. Results. Both predictors demonstrated strong positive correlations with teacher performance (intrinsic motivation: r = .907; school climate: r = .826; p < .001). Simple regression revealed that intrinsic motivation accounted for 82.3% of the variance in performance (R² = .823), while school climate accounted for 68.1% of the variance (R² = .681). Multiple regression indicated that both variables jointly explained 84.2% of the variance (R² = .842, F = 183.326, p < .001), with intrinsic motivation emerging as the dominant predictor (β = .707) relative to school climate (β = .243). Conclusion. These findings suggest that improving teacher effectiveness in resource-constrained rural settings requires prioritizing professional autonomy and competency development alongside a supportive organizational climate.

Abstract

Background: Vocational education and training (SMK and TVET) are expected to reduce skills mismatch and improve employability. However, many reforms remain fragmented because industry partnership, curriculum alignment, educational financing, and employability are often treated as separate issues rather than interconnected dimensions within a vocational education ecosystem. Aims: This study aims to develop a Vocational Education Ecosystem Framework (VEEF) explaining how industry partnership, curriculum alignment, educational financing, and employability interact systematically in SMK and TVET. Methods: The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a critical-interpretive synthesis orientation. Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2021–2026 were identified, screened, and synthesised using PRISMA procedures, explicit selection criteria, and thematic analysis. Results: The findings show that industry partnership functions as a governance mechanism connecting institutions, firms, and labour markets. Curriculum alignment acts as a translational mechanism linking labour-market needs with pedagogy, assessment, certification, and teacher capability. Educational financing serves as enabling infrastructure supporting implementation quality, innovation, access, and sustainability. Employability emerges as a systemic outcome shaped by the interaction among governance, curriculum, and resource configuration. These relationships form the basis of VEEF, consisting of Governance, Translational, Resource, and Outcome nodes. Conclusion: Effective SMK and TVET systems depend on strong ecosystem integration rather than isolated interventions. VEEF offers a comprehensive conceptual foundation for understanding vocational education reform and sustainable school-to-work transitions.

Abstract

Digital platforms are increasingly used for teacher performance management, yet evidence from under-resourced contexts, particularly border-area schools, remains limited. This study examines the implementation of teacher performance management using the Ruang Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan (Ruang GTK) platform and its contribution to teacher work effectiveness in a public junior high school located in an Indonesian border area. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis involving the principal, six teachers, and one school operator. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings show that Ruang GTK was implemented across five performance management stages: planning, implementation, monitoring and feedback, evaluation and reflection, and professional development. The platform contributed to clearer work direction, improved task organization, increased discipline, and supported reflective practices. However, constraints included unstable internet access, varying teacher digital literacy, and inconsistent system use. One teacher stated, “I often struggle to upload evidence because the internet connection is unstable.” Ruang GTK has potential as a digital performance management tool in border-area schools, but its effectiveness depends on infrastructure readiness, digital competence, and leadership support. Schools should provide targeted training and ensure reliable internet access. Future research should examine implementation across multiple schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of pedagogical competence and work motivation on teacher instructional innovation in junior secondary schools. Using a quantitative correlational design, the study involved 115 teachers selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression techniques. The findings reveal that pedagogical competence, work motivation, and instructional innovation are generally categorized as high, although innovation practices remain uneven. Pedagogical competence has a positive and significant effect on instructional innovation, while work motivation also contributes positively with a lower influence. Simultaneously, both variables demonstrate a strong joint effect on instructional innovation. The study concludes that instructional innovation develops through the interaction between teachers’ professional competence and motivational drive. Therefore, integrative professional development programs and supportive school environments are essential to strengthen sustainable instructional innovation and improve the quality of teaching practices in contemporary educational contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of financial management effectiveness of Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUD) at State Vocational High Schools in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. A causal-quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 56 respondents across eight BLUD-designated State Vocational High Schools through purposive sampling. Four independent variables were examined: information technology (IT) utilization, human resource (HR) competency, governance, and functional supervision. Data was collected via a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results show that IT utilization (β = 0,422, p = 0,037), HR competency (β = 0,890, p = 0,000), and governance (β = 0,761, p = 0,023) each exerted a positive and significant effect on BLUD financial management effectiveness, while functional supervision yielded no significant effect (β = 0,017, p = 0,920). The overall model was statistically significant (F = 25,341, p = 0,000, Adjusted R² = 62,7%). These findings indicate that internal organizational factors, particularly HR competency, IT infrastructure, and governance structures, are far more decisive determinants of BLUD financial management effectiveness than formal external oversight mechanisms. The study contributes to the scarce empirical literature on BLUD financial management in vocational education and provides actionable policy recommendations for strengthening public-sector financial governance in regional Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines digital-based classroom management to enhance students' digital literacy in Informatics learning. The rapid expansion of educational technology requires structured classroom strategies that systematically foster multidimensional digital competencies rather than merely support content delivery. This research aims to analyze how digital-based classroom management through the 1 Cerdas Application enhances students' digital literacy competencies. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in a public lower secondary school involving school leaders, Informatics teachers, and students selected purposively. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using an interactive qualitative model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that structured platform-based management improved students' technical proficiency, collaborative engagement, creative digital production, information evaluation skills, and ethical technology awareness, although infrastructure instability and varied digital readiness remained challenges. The study concludes that digital-based classroom management serves as a systemic pedagogical strategy for strengthening digital literacy and recommends continuous infrastructure improvements and teacher professional development to sustain the effectiveness of innovation.
