Abstract

The high productivity and quality of the harvested prawn are the main objectives of the intensive giant freshwater prawn (GFP) culture. Therefore, the breeding program to create a superior strain of the prawn has been conducted in several countries to support prawn farming. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the productivity and female reproductive performance of the GFP superior strains, namely the selected GI Macro (GI) and Siratu (SR) in the three farming conditions. The GI has resulted from an individual selection program based on standard length and maturation level characters. The multi-location test was conducted in the grow-out phase for 90 days at the three locations based on altitude, namely low-lands (in Subang, 10-25 m above the sea level, asl), medium-lands (in Ciamis, 70-100 m asl), high-lands (in Kuningan, 700-800 m asl). The growth characters consisting of total length/TL, standard length/SL, and body weight/BB of GI and SR were not significantly different, both on the Low, medium, and high lands ponds.  The survival rate of the GI (87,3±7.26%) was significantly higher than the SR (71.0±0.08%) in the medium-land pond.  In the high-lands pond, the survival rate of the SR (72.33±0.32%) was significantly higher than the GI (55.8±6.27%). Meanwhile, the productivity and percentage of the gravid female in the low-lands pond were not significantly different. The data suggested that the selected GI Macro is a location-specific genotype, more suitable to be cultured in the low and moderate-lands pond with warm temperature characteristics. Keywords: freshwater prawn, growth, multi-location, reproduction

Abstract

Gender inequality remains a prevalent issue in society today, despite the Quran's clear articulation of equality between men and women. This study aims to analyze verses of gender equality in the Quran that employ the linguistic devices of fasl and wasl using Jürgen Habermas's critical hermeneutical approach. Gender verses refer to those that specifically address gender roles, rights, and obligations in a religious context. The study adopts a linguistic approach to explore how fasl and wasl are used to convey gender-related messages in the Quran. It employs a qualitative content analysis methodology involving literature identification, selection, and analysis in Arabic. Purposive sampling is used to select verses from Surah An-Nisa’ , one of the longest chapters addressing gender, particularly women. From 176 verses, several excerpts depicting gender relations are analyzed. The findings reveal equality in inheritance, kinship, receiving divine blessings, leadership, and equal rewards. These aspects represent social, economic, and humanitarian rights.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the structural analysis of the tasybih language style in the verses of the Al-Qur'an. With a literature study approach, the qualitative method collects data by understanding and studying theories from various relevant literature sources. The main data source in this research is the Al-Qur'an, while additional data sources were obtained from various journals and research articles about Tasybih. Next, data from these research sources will be classified to find several Qur'an verses containing Tasybih. After the data from the research source is presented, the final step is to verify or conclude from the data that has been collected. At this stage, analysis is carried out to identify Koran verses containing Tasybih. The research results show that although Bayan Science has several discussion branches, Tasybih has its function and characteristics. There are similarities in the structure of the 7 Tasybih verses in the Al-Qur'an studied: they are all in the form of mujmal tasybih. It is hoped that this research can provide a deeper understanding of Tasybih and contribute to the study of Arabic linguistics and literature in general.

Abstract

Learning Arabic vocabulary (mufradāt) often faces challenges in achieving effectiveness, particularly in motivating students to actively participate and deeply understand the material. Many conventional methods have significantly failed to improve students' listening and speaking skills. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Aural-Oral Approach in teaching Arabic vocabulary (mufradāt). The Aural-Oral Approach, which emphasizes intensive listening and speaking skills, can enhance students' vocabulary acquisition in Arabic. This study was conducted at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) Ar-Rahman Bogor using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 60 students divided into two groups: the experimental group using the Aural-Oral Approach and the control group using conventional methods. Data were collected through interviews and vocabulary tests before and after the intervention. The results of the data analysis showed a significant increase in Arabic vocabulary skills in the experimental group compared to the control group. This study's novelty lies in applying the Aural-Oral Approach in the context of Arabic language learning at the MDT level, which has not been extensively explored before. These findings indicate that the Aural-Oral Approach effectively improves Arabic vocabulary mastery. Therefore, it is recommended that this method be more widely implemented in Arabic language teaching to maximize student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Textbooks play an essential role in learning, especially in foreign language learning such as Arabic, which has its complexities. The quality of textbooks greatly determines the success of the teaching and learning process. A good textbook must meet certain criteria to ensure its effectiveness in helping students understand the materials. However, there are currently many choices of Arabic textbooks. However, content errors are still found, so a feasibility analysis is required. This study evaluates the feasibility of an Arabic textbook for grade IX published by the Directorate of KSKK Madrasah, using Tomlinson's theory, which includes 16 criteria for good textbooks. This research uses qualitative methods with content analysis techniques. The first step in this research is to compile an instrument in the form of a checklist table consisting of several assessment indicators according to Tomlinson's criteria. Then, the textbook was analyzed comprehensively to assess the suitability of the content with the instrument. The obtained data were then calculated and converted into percentages to determine the feasibility category. The analysis results show that the Arabic textbook for grade IX is highly suitable for Tomlinson's criteria. With a score of 58 out of a maximum score of 64, or 90%, this textbook falls into the “Good” category. This conclusion is supported by high scores on most of the assessment indicators, indicating that this textbook meets the established standards in various aspects of foreign language learning. The Arabic textbook for grade IX is reckoned as a highly feasible learning media. However, some aspects still require improvement, such as aspects of variety, unplanned discourse, optional extras, etc. Improvements in these aspects aim to improve the quality of textbooks, which impacts the effectiveness of learning and ensures student achievement is in line with the expected competencies.

Abstract

The Arabic learning process is still faced with several problems, one of which is that students find it difficult to remember vocabulary and do not understand the meaning of each vocabulary. This study aims to analyze the enhancement of students' vocabulary through the implementation of the mimicry memorization method. This study employs a quantitative approach, specifically adopting an experimental research design known as the Pre-test and post-test Control Group Design. The result of this study is that there is an increase in learning outcomes in learning Arabic vocabulary using the Mimicry Memorization method. Supported with evidence, the experimental group demonstrates an average score of 80.000, while the control group exhibits a mean score of 52.690. The results of statistical analysis showing Sig. (2-tailed) in the Independent Sample T-Test test is 0.000 <0.05. These findings suggest that utilising the Mimicry Memorization technique proves to be efficacious in acquiring Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

TThe teaching and learning process of I'lāl (vocal deviation) in Islamic boarding schools generally uses the book of Qawā'idul I'lāl. However, the book of Qawā'idul I'lāl is still very simple and has several shortcomings as follows: (1) it only contains simple i'lāl rules, (2) there is no explanation of the rules, (3) there are only a few examples, and (4) there is no material for practice. Therefore, the researcher intends to develop Qawā'idul I'lāl teaching materials with an inductive approach accompanied by practice questions. On another note, this research aims to describe the product's feasibility and legibility. This study uses a research and development (R&D) design with a stage model developed by Borg & Gall. The study results indicate that, in the aspect of feasibility, this development product is declared feasible after it is tested by experts on the material and media’s morphology and visual communication design, with a result of 82.6%. Regarding readability, the product development is categorized as independent after conducting the gap test with 86.1% and the Fog Index formula with a value of 2.543. Therefore, the results of developing the Qawā'idul I'lāl book with an inductive approach have implications for the ideal product of teaching materials for I'lāl learning (vocal deviation), especially in the pesantren environment.

Abstract

In the industrial revolution era, good teaching and learning processes should integrate the transfer of knowledge and values as a solid foundation for building students’ character. This research is a descriptive case study; the data were collected using observations and interviews before they were analyzed using an interactive model proposed by Miles & Huberman (1994). The result shows that Arabic teaching and learning is a befitting school subject that instills character values. Furthermore, character building can be seen in the planning, implementing, and evaluating Arabic teaching and learning processes. However, obstacles to its processes still exist, including the lack of coordination between parents and educators in the Islamic boarding school environment. Its supporting factors were also found, including a supportive curriculum, positive habituation, support for adequate facilities and infrastructure, and various programs organized by the Islamic boarding school regarding building the student character.

Abstract

This study aims to identify innovations in Arabic language learning for speaking proficiency among adult learners over the past 10 years. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with databases Scopus, Emerald, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. From the initial 1725 articles, 28 relevant articles were screened using Covidence and the PRISMA method. The results show innovations in models, methods, approaches, media use, teaching material development, and assessment systems, with most yielding positive outcomes. These innovations can be implemented in other institutions or tested in different contexts. However, some negative results, especially in khitobah practice, were due to insufficient supervision or the ineffectiveness of the practice. Several articles did not report the outcomes of the innovations, presenting opportunities for further research to evaluate these innovations more deeply.
