Abstract

Kemampuan literasi dan numerasi merupakan ketrampilan dasar kependidikan yang perlu dimiliki oleh siswa termasuk anak pekerja migran asal Indonesia di Malaysia. Paguyuban masyarakat Indonesia melalui Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) telah bekerja sama dengan pihak Kedutaan Besar RI di Kuala Lumpur membentuk sanggar-sanggar belajar (SB) yang sudah berjalan secara rutin dengan target para siswa dapat mengikuti “Kejar Paket”, diantaranya yakni SB Ar-Rahmah Penang dan SB Kulim Kedah. Sesuai hasil observasi, kemampuan literasi dan numerasi menjadi permasalahan utama pada siswa migran Indonesia di kedua SB tersebut. Sehingga tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Kemitraan Internasional (PkM KI) ini yang terintegrasi dengan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ialah memberdayakan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa dengan berbantuan media digital. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu Partisipatori Rural Appresial (PRA). Sasaran kegiatan yakni 36 siswa SB Ar-Rahmah Penang dan SB Kulim Kedah Malaysia. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, latihan, dan pendampingan. Hasil utama pengabdian ini yakni adanya peningkatan sebesar 83% pada kemampuan literasi dan 74% pada kemampuan numerasi. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah dicapai maka kegiatan PkM KI dan KKN ini amatlah penting sehingga pendampingan literasi dan numerasi akan terus dilakukan secara berkesinambungan setelah selesainya masa kegiatan ini melalui daring.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the research and development (R&D) of local wisdom-based physics learning in Indonesia. This research is a content analysis using a qualitative descriptive approach. After a screening process based on specific criteria, 10 articles were selected for this study. The findings indicate that local wisdom-based physics learning can improve students' learning outcomes. Furthermore, the results show that Indonesian students who utilized local wisdom-based physics learning integrated with technology demonstrated higher academic achievement.

Abstract

Nilai-nilai keislaman harus segera ditingkatkan di era yang semakin maju agar keberagamaan siswa tidak luntur termakan zaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-modul IPA terpadu Islam pada materi pengukuran yang layak dan praktis digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPA serta dapat meningkatkan sikap religius siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis Research and Development (RD) dengan melalui serangkaian proses model Four-D. Ahli materi melakukan uji kelayakan e-modul IPA terpadu Islam, sedangkan guru dan siswa melakukan uji kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul IPA Terpadu Islam tentang materi pengukuran sangat layak dengan kategori sangat baik dan menjadi sarana yang memadai untuk meningkatkan sikap religius siswa; e-modul IPA juga praktis menurut guru dan siswa serta dapat meningkatkan sikap religius siswa setelah dilakukan uji coba. Oleh karena itu, guru IPA hendaknya mengadopsi e-modul IPA terpadu Islam pada materi pengukuran ini untuk mendukung kegiatan belajarnya di sekolah.

Abstract

This research developed and validated a Scratch-assisted Jigsaw learning instrument for teaching physics measurement concepts. It also investigated the model's impact on students' creative thinking skills and scientific literacy. A True Experimental Research design with a quantitative approach, using a pre-test post-test control group, was employed. The instrument underwent rigorous validation, including feasibility assessments and field tests. Effect size analysis determined the model’s impact. The developed instruments met eligibility standards and significantly enhanced students' creative thinking and scientific literacy. Hypothesis testing showed a significance value below 0.05. Effect sizes for creative thinking (0.33) and scientific literacy (0.32) were both medium, indicating a noticeable positive impact. The Scratch-assisted Jigsaw model is a reliable and effective approach, offering a valuable and innovative alternative for improving physics education quality by enhancing creative thinking and scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 5E model assisted by PhET simulations in improving students’ critical thinking skills and science literacy on the topic of sound waves. A quasi-experimental design was used with three classes: an experimental class (Learning Cycle 5E + PhET), control class 1 (Learning Cycle 5E only), and control class 2 (direct instruction). Classes were randomly selected from grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Piyungan. Instruments consisted of a critical thinking essay test and a science literacy multiple-choice test, each covering four indicators and validated using Quest. PhET simulations (“Sound” and “Wave on a String”) were integrated from the exploration to evaluation phases. The Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant differences between groups (p = 0.001). The experimental class achieved the highest posttest scores: 90.68 (SD = ±4.8) in critical thinking and 68.92 (SD = ±6.2) in science literacy. The most significant improvements occurred in evaluating arguments and understanding science concepts. These results suggest that integrating PhET simulations into the Learning Cycle 5E model effectively enhances students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and science literacy. This approach can be recommended as an alternative learning strategy in physics education, particularly for abstract and complex topics.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of carrot tuber and red ginger rhizome addition on the acceptability and shelf life of sponge cake enriched with tofu dregs. The research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in a factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor was carrot addition (20%, 30%, and 40%), and the second factor was red ginger addition (9%, 10%, and 12%). Organoleptic evaluation included color, aroma, taste, texture, and crumb structure assessed by panelists. Shelf life observation was conducted at room temperature. The results showed that the best treatment based on overall acceptability was 20% carrot and 12% red ginger (W1J3). This treatment produced a bright color, distinctive aroma, balanced taste, soft texture, and fine crumb structure. Shelf life analysis indicated that the W1J3 treatment had the longest storage period, lasting up to 6 days at room temperature. The addition of carrot and red ginger significantly influenced both acceptability and shelf life. It can be concluded that the incorporation of 20% carrot and 12% red ginger improves the sensory quality and extends the shelf life of tofu dregs sponge cake.

Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHYSICS LEARNING RESEARCH WITH STEM APPROACH IN INDONESIA: A CONTENT ANALYSISAbstractThis study aims to provide an overview of physics learning research with the STEM approach in Indonesia. This study used a thematic content analysis method which aims to determine the depth of the study using a certain matrix so that a conclusion can be presented based on similarities and differences. This study analyzed SINTA indexed scientific articles published from 2016-2020. The results of the search were obtained as many as 51 scientific articles according to the scope of the research. Research that is mostly done is experiments. The most widely used number of samples was 11-30 and the type of sample that was most studied was students in class XI in Senior High School. The most widely used data collection instrument is the test instrument. The most popular physics material is temperature and heat material, while the most measured research variable is students' understanding of concepts. The product that is mostly developed in learning with the STEM approach is students’ worksheets, while the learning model that is most often integrated with the STEM approach is Project-Based Learning (PjBL). In the future, research should examine the effects of learning physics using the STEM approach on variables that are still rarely studied, such as students' representational abilities. In addition, it is necessary to apply a STEM learning approach to other materials that are still rarely used. Thus, it can be concluded that this study has provided preliminary information for further research and policy determination on the STEM approach in physics learning.AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan tinjauan umum terkait penelitian pembelajaran fisika dengan pendekatan STEM di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode thematic content analysis yang bertujuan untuk menentukan kedalaman penelitian dengan menggunakan matriks tertentu sehingga dapat disajikan suatu kesimpulan berdasarkan kesamaan dan perbedaan. Penelitian ini menganalisis artikel ilmiah terindeks SINTA yang dipublikasikan dari 2016-2020. Hasil dari pencarian diperoleh sebanyak 51 artikel ilmiah yang sesuai dengan lingkup penelitian. Penelitian yang banyak dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Jumlah sampel yang paling banyak digunakan adalah sebanyak 11-30 dan jenis sampel yang paling banyak diteliti adalah peserta didik di kelas XI SMA/MA. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang paling banyak digunakan adalah instrumen tes. Materi fisika yang paling diminati adalah materi Suhu dan Kalor, sedangkan variabel penelitian yang paling banyak diukur adalah pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Produk yang paling banyak dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM adalah LKPD, sementara model pembelajaran yang paling sering diintegrasikan dengan pendekatan STEM adalah Project Based Learning (PjBL). Ke depannya penelitian sebaiknya mengkaji efek pembelajaran fisika dengan menggunakan pendekatan STEM terhadap variabel yang masih jarang diteliti, seperti kemampuan representasi peserta didik. Selain itu, perlu diterapkan pendekatan pembelajaran STEM pada materi lain yang masih jarang digunakan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini telah memberikan informasi awal untuk penelitian dan penentuan kebijakan lebih lanjut tentang pendekatan STEM dalam pembelajaran fisika.

Abstract

The impact of the STEAM approach in education can help students have 21st Century skills. This study aims to review the development of STEAM approach research on physics learning in Indonesia. Systematic literature review research with the content analysis method was used to review articles published from 2018-2022. The analysis techniques carried out are identification, screening and analysis. Assessment of article inclusion and quality is done to avoid bias in research. There were 28 articles that were in accordance with the focus of this study. The results of the study are the most widely used type of experimental research, the subject of research is at the junior high school level students grade VII and VIII with a sample number of 20-45 students. Test research instruments are widely used by examining light and optical materials. The variable that is often measured is creative thinking skills. Learning media integrated with the PjBL-STEAM model is the most widely used choice. Therefore, research variables that have not been measured are representation skills and higher-order thinking skills aspects of problem solving and physical materials that have never been used for testing are rigid body equilibrium, work and energy, temperature and heat, newton's laws, electromagnetic, electrical and parabolic motion, so further study is needed on its implementation with the STEAM approach.ABSTRAKDampak pendekatan STEAM dalam pendidikan dapat membantu siswa memiliki keterampilan Abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan meninjau perkembangan penelitian pendekatan STEAM pada pembelajaran fisika di Indonesia. Penelitian systematic literature review dengan metode konten analisis digunakan meninjau artikel yang terbit dari tahun 2018-2022. Teknik analisis yang dilakukan adalah identifikasi, screening dan analisis. Penilaian inklusi dan kualitas artikel dilakukan untuk menghindari bias pada penilitian. Didapatlah 28 artikel yang memiliki kesesuaian dengan fokus penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian adalah jenis penelitian eksperimen paling banyak digunakan, subjek penelitiannya pada siswa tingkat SMP kelas VII dan VIII dengan jumlah sampelnya 20-45 siswa. Instrumen penelitian tes banyak digunakan dengan meneliti materi cahaya dan optik. Variabel yang sering diukur adalah keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Media pembelajaran yang terintegrasi model PjBL-STEAM menjadi pilihan paling banyak digunakan. Oleh karena itu, variabel penelitian yang belum diukur adalah keterampilan representasi dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi aspek pemecahan masalah dan materi fisika yang belum pernah digunakan untuk pengujian adalah kesetimbangan benda tegar, usaha dan energi, suhu dan kalor, hukum newton, elektromagnetik, kelistrikan dan gerak parabola, sehingga hal tersebut diperlukannya kajian lebih lanjut mengenai implementasinya dengan pendekatan STEAM.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in science learning to enhance student creativity, focusing on analyzing electronic teaching materials used at the secondary education level. Through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following PRISMA guidelines, this study identified and analyzed 32 scientific articles from Sinta, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases relevant to the topic. The analysis showed that e-modules were the most widely used electronic teaching materials, with significant contributions to the improvement of 21st century skills, including creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. This research also highlights the effectiveness of the project-based learning model in supporting students' creative skills development. By providing deep insight into the mechanisms of enhancing creativity through ICT integration in science learning, this study contributes to a better understanding of the role of technology in education and offers recommendations for more innovative teaching practices in the future.

Abstract

This study uses a literary study method using a type of qualitative research which aims to describe a suitable learning model to improve students' argumentation skills, namely the Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) model because it requires students to learn independently to understand material concepts and practice directly. In the ADI model there is a syntax that the teacher can apply to students during science learning so that students are able to convey their arguments correctly and correctly based on existing material concepts. Because to face the challenges of 21st century education, skills such as thinking skills, analytical skills, and creativity skills are needed. Of the 56 articles found with similar topics, 13 were selected to obtain 13 articles which were analyzed to obtain the result that the existence of the Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) model was able to improve students' argumentation abilities in the sense of students' ability to think critically in facing a problem or solving a problem, increasing students' understanding skills to the concept of science material presented by the teacher, and improve students' ability to practice directly in the environment so that they better understand events around them so as to be able to provide solutions in an argumentative manner related to theoretical science.
