Abstract

Learning in the era of the new university regulations experienced a revolution in students’ learning style and teachers’ teaching style because this situation caused many changes in the learning system. Different types of learning alternatives are carried out to achieve learning that meets these conditions. Integrative STEM was selected as one of the learning models in the new order era. However, inclusive STEM learning is difficult to do without support or learning tools, especially in distance learning. Based on these needs, this research was carried out to develop support devices for the integrative STEM model in university physics class students. This research is research and development (R&D). The development model used uses a 4D development model. The 4D model is synonymous with definition, design, development, and dissemination. In this study, an assistive device model was developed in an integrative MINT learning device. The analysis results show that the development of integrative learning tools based on STEM for students is rated as good, with an average of 80%.

Abstract

The implementation of online learning activities makes parents take part in the activities of the science learning process. It is not uncommon for those who include their children to take part in tutoring activities so that they can study well even though they are in a COVID-19 pandemic condition. This study aims to determine the role of parents and tutors in science learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological type of research. The research sample consisted of 10 people consisting of 5 junior high school students, 2 parents, 2 tutors, and 1 science teacher at school. Collecting data using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study stated that the role of parents in science learning during the Covid-19 period was to accompany, supervise, establish communication, direct, motivate, and provide facilities (facilitators). The role of the tutor in science learning during the COVID-19 period is to assist, assist the learning process, direct, and evaluate. Parents and tutors have a closely related role in science learning, namely helping each other, accompanying, and directing students so that they can continue to study well during the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

This article reports on the validity of CTL-based physics e-books and the effectiveness of media developed for student problem-solving skills. This research is development research and uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this research were 17 students of class X science class and 26 students of class X social class at one of the senior high schools in Yogyakarta as the implementation class and modeling classes. The results of this study indicate that the development of a CTL-based physics e-book on simple harmonic oscillation material is feasible in terms of expert validation results where the average total validation score is 3.75 with a very high category. The use of a CTL-based physics e-book in the learning process is able to have a significant influence on improving the problem-solving skills of students in both classes, which is indicated by the value of sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 both for modeling and implementation classes which are smaller than the alpha value of 0.05.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research method with the type of document analysis and supported by interview studies. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of high school physics learning tools that reach the content standards and process standards of Curriculum 2013. The documents analyzed are in the form of high school physics learning tools soft files from four teachers as respondents from different schools. The selection of the teachers was carried out by purposive sampling and the learning device data were analyzed descriptively. The research step begins by asking each teacher for the same type of learning tools, consisting of lesson plans, student’s worksheet, and instrument test for daily exams. Supporting step is an interview study with a semi-open model. The results of the data analysis of learning devices there are still 2 teachers who do not meet these types of learning tools, and only 1 teacher in the aspect of learning time allocation does not reach the standard process, which is only 30 minutes. Then generally each teacher is still not able to achieve aspects of the standard content, namely the achievement of basic competencies

Abstract

Face-to-face learning is being enforceable limitedly. To improve the quality of time in class, teachers can apply the flipped learning method. Flipped learning combines face-to-face in class with online learning. Physics e-module are acceptable as independent teaching material for students before participating in learning activities in class. The learning process in class gets used for discussion and practicum. This research implementation to know the application of physics e-modules based on flipped learning to increase students' learning motivation. This type of research is a pre-experimental type one-group pretest-posttest design. The samples were 16 students in class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Public Senior High School Wolowae. The data collection instruments used were questionnaire validation sheets and student learning motivation questionnaires. Based on data analysis, Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) obtained is 0.00 < 0.05. Thus, there are differences in students' learning motivation before and after of physics e-module based on flipped learning. The increase of students' learning motivation with the acquisition N-Gain value was 0.64. This increase includes the medium category. The application of a physics e-module based on flipped learning in physics learning, especially the material of quantities and measurements, can increase the learning motivation of high school students in class X

Abstract

Analyzing students’ scientific argumentation skill in optic: Problem-based learning assisted edu-media simulation AbstractThere are many learning models applied to analyze the ability of students' scientific argumentation. However, not many models have been integrated with online simulation-based learning to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. In fact, there are currently many online simulation websites published by educational institutions or international universities and rarely used in research. This research integrates innovative learning models with online simulation-based learning to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. The simulation website used is Edu-media simulation. In this website there are many physics simulations provided, but not many studies have applied this simulation. This research was conducted with a quasi-experimental consisting of one experimental class with a sample of 25 XI MIA 3 graders in Prambanan High School 1 Yogyakarta. Students' scientific arguments are measured through a description test instrument. Students' scientific argumentation data were analyzed using paired sample t-test and Toulmin argumentation patterns (TAP). The results showed that PBL assisted by edu-media simulation can improve students' scientific argumentation ability both quantitatively and qualitatively. This is indicated by the value of t value -11.051 -1.711 that there are differences in the average value of argumentation in the pre-test (17) and post-test (47). In this case, students have been able to make assertive claims by presenting evidence and reasons that support the claim.
