Abstract

The education system in the current era of globalization has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning takes place in the new normal transition period using the blended learning method. Blended learning that emphasizes students to study offline and online can lead to a lack of student scientific literacy. This study developed an e-module of physics in health to facilitate student learning that can be used for offline and online learning. This study aims to describe e-modules based on discovery learning about hydrostatic pressure submaterial. This type in research by adapting 4-D development model (define, design, develop, desseminate). The research instrument used was the media questionnaire, student response sheets, and scientific literacy questions. The results showed that the priority of the experts was 94% very well. Student responses to the e-module obtained a value of 90% very good category. The N-Gain value was obtained at 0.4 in the medium category. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that the e-module based on the discovery learning is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This research is a development research with ADDIE development model. ADDIE has five stages of development, including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this research is limited to implementation which aims to determine the feasibility of the developed media and conduct small-scale trials. The Feasibility Test carried out is a validity test and a PA test or Percentage Agreement to reach an agreement between validators. The feasibility test was measured by a questionnaire in 2 aspects, namely the media aspect and the material aspect, each of which was carried out by 4 experts and 1 science teacher from SMPN 3 Bangkalan. Trial and taking responses with a questionnaire, given to students from SMPN 3 Bangkalan. The results of the feasibility test from 2 aspects resulted in an average value of 92% with a very feasible category. The PA test also states that each validator's data has reached an agreement. The response of students after testing the Android-based science flipbook media with the theme of the sensing system resulted in an average value of 89% with a very good response category

Abstract

The existence of item bias in a set of measuring instruments can threaten the instrument’s validity. Based on the Rasch model, this study evaluated item bias in the four-tier heat and temperature diagnostic test (4T-HTDT). This study used a cross-sectional quantitative survey method. There were 241 students selected using a stratified random sampling technique. The 4T-HTDT instrument consisted of 20 items grouped into five concept groups. Students’ conceptual understanding was grouped into five categories, namely scientific knowledge (Rating=5), false positive (Rating=4), false negative (Rating=3), misconceptions (Rating=2), and lack of knowledge (Rating=1). The differential item functioning (DIF) score was used to evaluate item bias in the 4T-HTDT. Bias was reviewed based on the respondent’s gender, class, and school. The item has DIF if the probability value is <5%. The results showed that 35% (7 out of 20 items) spread over five groups of heat and temperature concepts were biased. However, excluding seven DIF items from the measurement set would not significantly affect the composition and distribution of items. Thus, the 13 items in the 4T-HTDT instrument are free from bias and can be used to evaluate the conceptual understanding of high school students.

Abstract

Much research has been carried out on local wisdom at the junior high school level nationally, but research that has been published internationally and is Scopus indexed specifically discusses local wisdom at the junior high school level is still very minimal. The purpose of writing this research is as material to find out trends in local wisdom research in junior high school science learning. This study uses a bibliometric analysis method that uses sources from Scopus with publication limits from 2019 to 2023 on the Scopus database, and utilizes the VOSviewer application as a visualization tool. Data analysis through the Scopus database in this research was based on search results with local wisdom keywords written in the title words column and science learning as keywords. Found 45 publications in Scopus during 2019-2023 that discuss local wisdom in junior high schools. Published articles about local wisdom in junior high school science learning during 2019-2023 will be more researched in 2020 based on the results of data analysis through the Scopus database. The results of the bibliometric analysis research show that the trend of research on local wisdom at the junior high school level in the five year period (2019-2023) has focused more on the position of students as learning subjects and the development of research on local wisdom in junior high schools that specifically discusses the implications for strengthening the attitude of love for local culture for students have not been studied much

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for teaching materials in the form of science learning modules that utilize information and communication technology. This study aims to develop an electronic module (E-Module) based on flipbook material on the human respiratory system for class VIII SMP/MTs students. The method used in this study uses a 4D development model (Define, Design, Development and Dissemination). In this study was limited only to the stage of small-scale trials. The instruments used are interviews as an initial needs analysis, a validation questionnaire on the feasibility of the E-Module and a student response questionnaire to the E-Modul. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative analysis. To find out the results of the product feasibility test, it was assessed by 3 material experts, 3 media experts and 1 science teacher and the responses of seven students of MTs TQ El-MunaQ Pajangan Bantul. The data from the product feasibility analysis were assessed by material experts, media experts and science subject teachers by calculating the percentage of achievement in each component, namely the feasibility of the material obtained by an overall average of 95.34% with the "very feasible" category, media feasibility obtained on average an overall average of 87.27 % with the "very feasible" category, the assessment of science subject teachers obtained an overall average of 73.33% with the "adequate" category. Then the results of student responses by calculating the percentage of achievement in each component obtained an overall average of 91.8%. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the flipbook -based E-Module material on the human respiratory system for class VIII SMP/MTs students is feasible to use and students are interested in using it as a science learning medium to support the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This research develops an interactive physics e-book to provide innovation in physics learning at schools. The purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of a physics e-book on simple harmonic motion material, to determine the reduction of student misunderstandings after learning using e-books, and to determine the practicality of the e-books developed. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods with the research subjects of class X students. Based on learning innovations that have been carried out, it was concluded that e-book learning media has been developed to reduce student misunderstandings. E-book has been validated by 3 experts and the result are very good so it is suitable for use in learning. There is a reduction in student misunderstandings in modeling and implementation classes. The largest decrease occurred in the implementation class which was 11.00% while the modeling class was 9.00%. The e-books used successfully improved students' understanding by 18.00% in classroom modeling and 48.00% in implementation classes. The effectiveness of e-books in reducing student misconceptions belongs to the medium criteria in all classes. The practicality of e-books in modeling and implementation classes belongs to very good criteria.

Abstract

The 21st century is a century where knowledge has increased drastically. Science and technology are growing rapidly and related to human life. Project-based learning is considered as an innovative approach for use in learning in many countries today. So that in the last decade it has raised a lot of interest in researchers to research related to this learning model. Although PjBL is becoming increasingly popular, to date there have been no reviews providing information on the use of PjBL across a wide range of disciplines and at various levels of education. Therefore, this review aims to find out where Project-Based Learning is used, adapted, and researched; and how Project-Based Learning has been used in learning to facilitate 21st century skills over the last 6 years. This systematic literature review used the PRISMA-P 4-step process and bibliometric analysis for 69 appropriate journal articles from 47 journals in 18 countries published from January 2016 to December 2021. A database search was performed with Scopus. The results of this review cover a variety of educational institutions. This review identifies the methods used and their developments over the last 6 years which were published in 69 journal articles in 47 journals in 18 countries and 8 disciplines. The findings are summarized bibliographically and thematically so as to provide important information for educators, researchers and software developers
