Abstract

The material of the sensory system is important because in the sensory system there are several kinds of senses and the nervous system which is still abstract and the problem that occurs is a misconception about the material. Motivation is one of the factors that support success in learning, but students learning motivation is still low. This study aims to produce valid and feasible mobile learning-based electronic student worksheets and to measure students learning motivation on sensing system materials. The research subjects were students of class VIII MTsN 8 Banyuwangi. This study uses Research and Development methods and 4D models with 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and dissemination. The instrument used was a material validation questionnaire, medial, readability, and students' learning motivation. The validation results show the average percentage of the material test is 94% and the media is 94% with very feasible criteria. The percentage of the students' readability test has an average value of 71% with a good category and the students' learning motivation is very strong with a percentage of 82%. Thus, electronic student worksheets can measure students' learning motivation. For future researchers, it is recommended to use the product in classroom learning

Abstract

The emergence of Covid-19 in Indonesia has an impact on science learning activities in junior high schools, so that, it is transferred to learning online. This study aims to analyze online learning activities, supporting factors, inhibiting, and the effectiveness of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Bungkal from October to November 2020. This study used descriptive qualitative methods to provide an overview of online learning at SMP Negeri 2 Bungkal. This study used semi-structured interview data given to science teachers, students, and students' parents. Data analysis used the analysis technique of Miles Huberman (1992) through three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result of this study indicates the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on learning activities. Online learning was carried out using Google Meet, Google Classroom, and WhatsApp media. Supporting and inhibiting factors in online learning, which are communication tools, internet networks, student motivation, and support from parents. Online learning is less effective because the material is not conveyed entirely to students. Most activities are carried out just by providing material and assignments and collecting assignments

Abstract

The impact of the STEAM approach in education can help students have 21st Century skills. This study aims to review the development of STEAM approach research on physics learning in Indonesia. Systematic literature review research with the content analysis method was used to review articles published from 2018-2022. The analysis techniques carried out are identification, screening and analysis. Assessment of article inclusion and quality is done to avoid bias in research. There were 28 articles that were in accordance with the focus of this study. The results of the study are the most widely used type of experimental research, the subject of research is at the junior high school level students grade VII and VIII with a sample number of 20-45 students. Test research instruments are widely used by examining light and optical materials. The variable that is often measured is creative thinking skills. Learning media integrated with the PjBL-STEAM model is the most widely used choice. Therefore, research variables that have not been measured are representation skills and higher-order thinking skills aspects of problem solving and physical materials that have never been used for testing are rigid body equilibrium, work and energy, temperature and heat, newton's laws, electromagnetic, electrical and parabolic motion, so further study is needed on its implementation with the STEAM approach.ABSTRAKDampak pendekatan STEAM dalam pendidikan dapat membantu siswa memiliki keterampilan Abad ke-21.

Abstract

This research analyzes the science literacy skills of elementary school teachers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and their implementation in preparing the Regional Education Standard Assessment (ASPD). Teachers' science literacy skills significantly impact the quality of primary education, especially in preparing for ASPD. PISA defines science literacy as the ability to interact with science-related issues and ideas of science as a reflective citizen. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. The respondents in this study were five elementary school teachers from various schools in DIY—the data collection technique for teachers' science literacy skills used science literacy questions from PISA 2015. Meanwhile, data on the implementation of science literacy were obtained using a Likert scale. The study results show that elementary school teachers in DIY have science literacy skills with a score of 44.3%. Teachers who possess science literacy skills have generally implemented them in their teaching. However, some teachers have yet to receive science literacy training and implement it in the classroom.
