Abstract

In order to achieve the vision and mission, every hospital must implement Good Corporate Governance (GCG). Its implementation aims to optimally improve performance of employees that will finally improve organizational performance. This study aimed to analyze the relation between principles of GCG and performance of civil servants of the Natuna Field Hospital in Anambas Islands District. This analytical descriptive study using cross sectional design involved 56 civil servants as samples. Data was collected in 2012 using a structured questionnaire. This study used chi square and logistic regression tests. Multivariate model was simplified by eliminating the confounding variables using backward stepwise method. This study found two variables significantly related to performance of civil servants, namely implementation of fairness and transperancy principles. Both were the most related variables to the performance of civil servants.

Abstract

Animation, as a rapidly evolving art form, requires effective techniques to produce realistic and engaging movements. The pose-to-pose method, which focuses on creating key poses, is utilized in the design of the animation "Ali & Umar." This article explores the application of this method using Blender to enhance animation quality. Through this method, animators can better control each movement and add additional poses to increase dynamism. The pose-to-pose technique involves planning the animation by setting key poses at various stages of movement, allowing animators to achieve smooth and realistic motion and easily correct errors. The production process of this animation is divided into three main stages: preparation, creation, and refinement. In the preparation stage, the story and characters are designed with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to facilitate initial visualization. The creation stage includes 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating the characters and other visual elements, with the pose-to-pose method ensuring accurate character movements. Finally, the refinement stage involves editing and optimizing video quality and adding sound. The results of this study indicate that the pose-to-pose method is effective in producing educational 3D animations, aiming to convey an Islamic message about the dangers of shirk through an engaging medium. These findings open opportunities for the development of more innovative Islamic educational media in the future.

Abstract

The use of plants, one of the biological sources, as an alternative medicine for degenerative diseases is increasingly being studied. Usually, the biological effects of these plants come from the secondary metabolite components contained therein. Ant nest is one of them which is reported to contain compounds belonging to the class of flavonoids, tannins, and polyphenols. This research was conducted in vitro by observing the antidiabetic potential of the ethanolic extract of ant nests against the -glucosidase enzyme following the modified "Wako Pure Chemical Industries Ltd., Japan" protocol. The results showed that the inhibitory power of -glucosidase of the extract was stronger than that of the quercetin control with IC50 values of 10.59 g/mL and 38.09 g/mL, respectively. These results proved that the ethanolic extract of ant nest had very strong -glucosidase inhibitory property. Predictive analysis of the pharmacokinetics and toxicity of the bioactive compounds contained in the ant nest extract showed that rutin has similar characteristics to acarbose as a first-line anti-diabetic drug of choice through an -glucosidase inhibitor mechanism, so rutin is worthy of consideration for development as an anti-diabetic candidate.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance students' Critical Thinking Skills in chemistry learning by using differentiated LKPD. Based on the initial observation, it was found that the CTS of students was still in the low category, as the learning media used had not taken into account the learning styles of students. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a Control Group Pre-Test-Post-Test Design. The sample in this study consisted of students from X.E-8, the experimental class, who were treated with differentiated LKPD, and the control class X.E-6, which was treated with undifferentiated LKPD. The research sample consisted of 76 students. The data collection employed a description test, consisting of five questions. Normality, homogeneity, and the One-Way ANOVA test were employed to analyze the data. The results of the feasibility test of differentiated LKPD, in terms of presentation, content, language, and writing, obtained an Aiken index of 0.87 and an Inter-Rater Agreement of 0.617, indicating that LKPD is valid and reliable. So, it is feasible to use as a chemistry learning medium. Based on the one-way ANOVA test analysis, it was found that there was a significant difference in the improvement of critical thinking skills between students taught using differentiated LKPD in the experimental class and those taught using undifferentiated LKPD in the control class.
