Abstract

Basic English language learning in the community is one of the community service initiatives that try to provide English language learning. This project was overseen by As'Adiyah Sengkang, an English lecturer at FTK IAI. One of the activities carried out during the program was the presentation of basic English material using the lecture method. The lecture method has various advantages, including allowing lecturers to convey material in a more appealing manner, such as by utilizing personal pronouns, greetings, and introductions. Based on the results of this training, it is a new reference for other teachers to use in every program of formal, informal, and non-formal educational institutions. Furthermore, because this strategy is recognized as a simple method of teaching, young people can do peer tutoring with youth who have not yet had the opportunity to participate in the program. The establishment of community cooperation for the learning of advanced and basic English is another result of implementation.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process at all levels of education must continue in the period of the COVID-19 epidemic that is currently sweeping the globe. Both offline and online, a variety of learning methods and tools are employed. Online learning is still limited, and rigorous health standards must be followed. In the meantime, online learning is a viable option. Many online media, such as Google Classroom, WA Group, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Google Duo, and others, can be used. This community service intends to assist teachers in improving their Moodle application skills. It is now the most feature-rich online (distance) learning program available. The teachers were very engaged in this activity throughout the activation process, from socialization to training, as indicated by the large number of invited participants who all showed up. Participants attended the training from beginning to end, actively participated in the training, and the Teacher submitted numerous questions and concerns. Participants used the Moodle application to learn English online after completing the training. Some teachers use their classroom time to create educational materials, online conversations, quizzes, and assignments, as well as to ask questions and motivate students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether teaching students fables in pairs of students during their second year of MA Nurul As'adiyah Callacu improved their vocabulary achievement. A pre-experimental methodology was used in this study's research in order to meet its goal. The academic year 2020–2021 was when the population was in its second year under MA Nurul As'adiyah Callacu. Purposive sampling was employed to obtain the sample. There were 17 students in the class that was selected from the X-A class with the most samples. According to the data analysis's findings, students' post-test mean scores (52.52) were higher than their pretest mean scores (32.23), and (52.52 – 32.23) was the gain score (20.29). The researcher used t-test statistical analysis for paired samples. The analysis of the data revealed that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted since the significance of the t value (0.000) was larger than the level of significance (0.05) and the degree of freedom (df) = 16. It can be inferred that using a fable in pair work can help students learn more vocabulary.

Abstract

In an attempt to realize national character, the purpose of this research is to identify the characteristics of Pancasila learners. A library method approach was employed in this study's methodology. The study's findings demonstrate that one of the strategies promoting the accomplishment of national education objectives and the ongoing implementation of the character-building initiative is the Pancasila student profile. The Pancasila student profile outlines the qualities and aptitudes Indonesian students need to possess in order to succeed in school and integrate into society. Using the six dimensions of the Pancasila student profile—faith and devotion to God Almighty, global diversity, independence, mutual cooperation, critical reasoning, and creativity—it is hoped that the Indonesian people will grow into intelligent, polite people capable of facing the challenges of the twenty-first century. They will also, of course, instill the values found in Pancasila, as our nation's philosophy is consistent and can ultimately fulfill one of the 1945 Constitution's mandates: create a prosperous and dignified national life. A key component of the approach for creating Pancasila student profiles is the integration of co-curricular and extracurricular activities into project-based formal education activities in order to enhance the profile of Pancasila students. It is envisaged that the Pancasila student profile strategy will enable the development of an exceptional Indonesian national character that can compete on a global scale.
