The role of a teacher is so important in the learning process especially learning to read the beginning. Therefore, the role of a teacher greatly determines the success of students in learning to read the beginning, it is important for a teacher to have good teaching skills. One of these skills is explaining skills because in the learning process many demands the teacher can explain. The purpose of this study was to describe the teacher's explaining skills in teaching reading the beginnings of mentally retarded students at SDLB Kasih Ibu Pekanbaru. The research method used is qualitative research, this study tells of a symptom, event, or event that occurred now. Data obtained after the study can be seen that the teacher in applying explaining skills in teaching the beginning reading of mentally retarded students at SDLB Kasih Ibu Pekanbaru has been implemented quite well because the teacher has been able to carry out the components in explaining skills to achieve optimal learning.

Abstrak: Critical thinking sangat penting untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar dengan mengoptimalkan kemampuan kognitif dalam memecahkan permasalahan, dengan menggunakan media graphic organizer sebagai media dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan critical thinking. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain one group pretest posttest dengan lokasi penelitian SDN 37 Pekanbaru dengan jumlah siswa 27 siswa, untuk memperoleh data penelitian menggunakan istrumen berbentuk essay dengan empat indikator yang dinilai. Teknik analisis data menggunakan SPSS versi 22. Hasil penelitian data pretest dengan rata-rata 56.52 dan rata-rata posttest 72.93 untuk menuju pengujian perbedaan Â menggunakan uji paired sampel dengan hasil -8,419 < 2,056 dapat disimpulkan ada perbedaan yang sangat signifikan kemampuan critical thinking siswa dengan menggunakan media graphic organizer.Kata Kunci: Media Graphic Organizer, Critical ThinkingÂ Abstract: Critical thinking is very important to improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students by optimizing cognitive abilities in solving problems, using a media graphic organizer as a medium in learning to improve critical thinking. This study used a quasi-experimental method with one group pretest posttest design with the research location of SDN 37 Pekanbaru with 27 students, to obtain research data using an essay-shaped instrument with four assessed indicators. The data analysis technique used SPSS version 22. The results of the research were pretest data with an average of 56.52 and an average post-test of 72.93 to get to the difference test using the paired sample test with the results of -8.419 <2.056, it can be concluded that there is a very significant difference in the critical thinking ability of students by using media graphic organizer.Keywords: Graphic Organizer Media, Critical Thinking

The purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility of making children's comics with the theme of preventing covid 19. This research is a research and development study. This research method is a research aimed at producing certain products and testing the effectiveness of these products. The method used by researchers this time is the model developed by Thiagarajan, namely the Four-D model. The Four-D development model consists of 4 main stages, namely: define, design, develop and disseminate (Sugiyono, 2015). The results of this study are seen from the results of the validation of the material with a value of 86% in the proper category, while the results of the validation of the media experts with the results of the assessment of 87.08% with the conclusion of this study that this comic media is suitable for children to use and read.

Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis ceritafantasi mahasiswa PGSD Universitas Riau. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dalam menuliscerita fantasi dengan menggunakan media gambar dalam pembelajaran menulis mempunyai potensiyang baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita fantasi, hal ini terlihat dari perbedaan rata-rata pada siklus I. 60,58, siklus II. 70,9, sedangkan pada siklus III dengan rata-rata 75,75. Perbedaanpeningkatan rata-rata sangat signifikan pada siklus I dan II dengan peningkatan rata-rata 0,21, sedangkanpeningkatan dari siklus II ke-siklus III dengan rata-rata peningkatan 0,3.

This research was condected in Kampung Rempak Kabupaten Siak where tenun Siak development area existed during the royal era. Tenun Siak cloth is one of the cultural products of its society that was made and worn by royal family. During the time, Tenun Siak cloth is not only worn by royal family but also by public society other than the royal society with its forms and motives. The objective of the research is to understand of Tenun Siak cloth related to motives, ascesorier and function change and meaning of Tenun Siak cloth pertaining to the user, social status on the society. The research appleied qualitative approach by following method develoved by Milles and Humberman. Data was collected by applying field reseach to the Tenun Siak clocth. Data also being collected from informen, the Siak cloth weaver, traditional expert, headvillagers and the capable men of the village. Informen were determiend by purposive based on necessities. For data validity, it is important to apply checking trustworthiness technic, subtitutive, dependecy and accuracy.The research finds that there has been any change to the Tenun Siak cloth, the product change. Motives and colors are now more varied, as well as form compared to the royal era, it also happens to the use, Tenun Siak cloth is not only for royal family but it is also worn by people in general, in anytime and at any place. Besides, the change also happens to the done tativec conotative meaning and symbol of the Tenun Siak cloth. The change found due to internal change to the weaver by economic motive as well as external change by the use of tool sets and also communication along with technology.

Implementation of the 2013 curriculum is very different from the previous curriculum, there are still many obstacles that we know greatly affect the learning outcomes, both in terms of media used, the assessment in the 2013 curriculum is more complicated than the previous curriculum then the methods used to convey the learning materials that want to be taught not effective or even incompatible with the material to be conveyed. This research method is a classroom action research conducted in improving the learning process, with four meetings. The assessment taken in this study is an evaluation evaluation of each meeting in the form of attitudinal value, value of knowledge and skill value based on teacher's book on theme 4 "Healthy is Important" with sub theme 1 "Importance of Health and Environment". On the attitudes that appear attitude of self-confidence, curiosity and independence Already entrusted by 20.68% confidence, and curiosity while mandated 6.2% lower because students are still not familiar with the implementation of the curriculum 2013. Results of student knowledge seen the development in excellent value at the first meeting of 36.4%, at the second meeting decreased to 30.3%, while at the third meeting experienced a 52.25% increase again. While on the results of these students' skills on four meetings emerged every meeting with a very good category at the first meeting of 18.1%, at the second meeting increased to 27.3%, the third meeting decreased to 20.68%, while at the fourth meeting increased again by 65.62%.

The research is descriptive quantitative research conducted to look at the ability of students in the class of 2014 to write a formal letter, a technique in data collection in the form of observation results by student writing an official letter PGSD FKIP Riau University class of 2014 instrument validity of his research has been validated through expert judgment. The sample in this study as masy as 46 students of primary school teaching force in 2014 the Faculty of Education, University of Riau. The ability of students PGSD FKIP Riau University after analyzed using categories, from 12 aspects outlined in the instrument observation sheets, getting the results that the completeness aspect predicate section of the letter simply by percentage (65, 76%), while the writing aspect letterhead good predicate with percentage (79,89%), while the aspect of writing an official letter dated sufficient predicate with percentage (54, 35%), while the aspect of writing about the letter predicate less by percentage (35, 87%), while the writing aspect of the destination address with sufficient predicate persentage (59, 78%), while the aspect of writing greeting predicate simply by percentage (54,35%), while the contents of the letter writing aspect predicate simply by percentage (63,04%), while the writing aspect regards predicate cover less by percentage (42, 93%), while in writing the name of the sender predicate very well with percentage (98, 91%), while the use of indonesioan predicate either by percentage (71, 74%), while in the aspect of the preparation of sufficient premises sentence predicate percentage (58,15%) and on aspects of the form or neatness letter predicate simply by percentage (58, 15%). From the results, the average overall percentage of 61, 91% is obtained with neough categories, this suggests that the ability of students PGSD class of 2014 FKIP University of Riau still low in writing a formal letter.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis siswa pada pembelajaran keterampilan menulis narasi pada kelas tinggi. Hal ini disebabkan karena beberapa masalah yang dialami siswa, diantaranya siswa tidak mengetahui unsur-unsur dalam menulis karangan narasi, penggunaan kata dan tanda baca yang benar, cara menyusun kalimat serta mengungkapkan ide yang dimiliki ke dalam karangan narasi. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan dan peningkatan pretest dan post test dengan menggunakan strategi POW + C-SPACE terhadap keterampilan menulis narasi siswa kelas V SDN 102 Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan metode pre-experimental design. Adapun sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan tes. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes keterampilan menulis narasi dalam pelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian diperoleh peningkatan yang signifikan antara nilai rata-rata kelas pada tes awal (pretest) yaitu 60,36 dan nilai rata-rata kelas pada tes akhir (posttest) yaitu 79,9. Pada indeks gain terdapat perbedaan dengan rata-rata peningkatan 0,51 yaitu kategori sedang.

Abstract : This research is motivated by the facts found in class V SD Negeri 021 Bunga Tanjung, which shows the results of social studies is still relatively low. The problems of the research is "whether the inquiry method can improve learning outcomes IPS class V SD Negeri 021 Bunga Tanjung?". The purpose of this study is to improve learning outcomes IPS Elementary School Class V Bunga Tanjung 021 with the application method of inquiry. The hypothesis in this study, if applicable, the inquiry method can improve learning outcomes IPS class V SD Negeri 021 Bunga Tanjung. This research was conducted in Tanjung Bunga Elementary School in March 2016. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) with two cycles. The subjects were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 021 Bunga Tanjung year 2015/2016 subject is composed of 30 students 14 male students and 16 female students. Based on the results of teacher sheet seen rising every meeting. At the meeting of the first cycle of 65%, the second meeting of the first cycle of 75% and in the fourth meeting of the second cycle of 80%, the fifth meeting of the second cycle of 90%. While student activity also increased every meeting. In the first cycle of unity meeting 64.44%, the second meeting of the first cycle of 70% and the second cycle keenpat meeting of 78.89%, and the fifth meeting of the second cycle of 85%. The results of study in the first cycle increased by 6.33% from the base score of 66.67%. Became 73.33%. In the second cycle increased by 20% to 93.33%. The average value of the basic score of 69.00, the UH I rose to 71.67, with an increase of 3.87%, the UH II average value increased to 75.83% with an increase of 5.80% , Thus, the results of this study in accordance with the hypothesis of action. Abstract: The problem in this research is less of result in writing skills at grade III class. This is because teachers taught monotone, did not use instructional media, and lack of mastered classes by teachers. Therefore, this research aimed to improve the narrative essay in student writing skills by using picture series. This research was done in class IIIC SD Negeri 94 Pekanbaru. The total of number 37 students. The method used in this research is classroom action research (PTK). This research using data analysis techniques activities of teachers and students activities, the analysis of narrative essay writing skills as well as improving narrative essay writing skills. Based on the results of this research by using the media picture series, the student’s skill every cycle has increased the average on the basis of score obtained from homeroom III 53,51, after conducted the action in the first cycle increased to 60,24 and the second cycle increased to 72,81. It can be concluded that using media picture series can improve the writing skills narrative essay third grade students of SD Negeri 94 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Picture series, writing skills, essay narrative
