Abstract

Higher order thinking abilities or Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a crucial aspect in mathematics education, especially in producing graduates who are able to think critically, creatively and reflectively. However, many students still experience difficulties in solving HOTS-based questions due to a lack of systematic thinking strategies. Metacognitive strategies is an approach that can help students plan, monitor and evaluate their thinking processes effectively. Therefore, this research aims to explore the application of metacognitive strategies in solving HOTS questions among students of the Tadris Mathematics Study Program and identify the factors that influence their success. This research uses system literature review (SLR) method by reviewing various academic sources related to metacognitive strategies in learning mathematics. The research results show that metacognitive strategies play an important role in increasing the effectiveness of HOTS learning, where students who have good metacognitive awareness are better able to develop flexible and systematic problem solving strategies. Factors that influence the success of this strategy include students' cognitive readiness, the role of lecturers in learning, a conducive learning environment, and curriculum policies that support the development of higher order thinking skills. The conclusion of this research confirms that metacognitive strategies must be integrated optimally in mathematics learning to improve students' HOTS skills. The main recommendation from this research is the need for training for lecturers and students regarding metacognitive strategies as well as improving the curriculum so that it is more oriented towards developing critical and reflective thinking skills.

Abstract

The Bedhaya Sukma Raras dance by Hadawiyah Endah Utami,  presented at a gathering of choreographers, was inspired by the journey of human life as it moves towards death. The complementary forms of verbal and nonverbal components in Bedhaya Sukma Raras implicitly offer a concept encased in the aesthetic expression of the dance about human awareness of doing good throughout the transient life in this world, in order to welcome an afterlife that is immortal and full of joy. This research uses a qualitative methodology. The data collection strategies include a library study, interviews, a visual study of dance recordings, an audio study of music recordings, documentation and study of archives of verbal transcripts of literature about songs and vocabulary of dance movements. The results show that in principle human life must seek to preserve a balance between the world and the hereafter. This means that microcosmically, in fulfilling their daily needs, human beings must work hard, prioritize virtue, and pray for God’s guidance so that macrocosmically, in the afterlife their sins will be forgiven and they will enter the heaven of the Creator.

Abstract

Surakarta, a city formerly under the rule of the New Mataram dynasty established by Paku Buwana II in 1746, inherited a wealth of arts which led to its designation as a cultural center. Jumenengan is a cultural legacy in the form of a ceremony, held annually in the Javanese month of Ruwah, on the day of Selasa Kliwon, or Anggara Kasih, to celebrate the anniversary of the coronation of the king of Kasunanan Surakarta. The main prerequisite of the Jumenengan ceremony is the performance of the Bedhaya Ketawang dance, which provides legitimacy for the ceremony. The position of the Bedhaya Ketawang dance in the Jumenengan ceremony is as an heirloom with magical, sacred, prestigious value. Its presence gives legitimacy and credibility to the continued power of the king. As a cultural legacy, the Bedhaya Ketawang dance contains life values that can be absorbed both implicitly and explicitly. These include spiritual values, values of love for the natural environment, ethical values, aesthetic values, and values of love, all of which are relevant to the life of society today. The relevance of these values provides encouragement and motivation to build and develop the character of the Indonesian nation today as a society of faith, devotion to God, noble character, healthy knowledge, skill, creativity, independence, democracy, and responsibility.

Abstract

Establishment of a smart eco-village actor network in Hiyung Village, Central Tapin District, Tapin Regency   Abstract. Hiyung Village is one of the villages that has the potential for the hottest chilies in Indonesia. However, Hiyung village is still partially overcoming several problems, especially in increasing chili productivity, marketing, and governance of farmer organizations. Villages with the smart eco-village concept find it difficult to develop if there is no external support because the people in the village have limitations. Meanwhile, regional governments and village governments are also limited in providing support both in terms of budget and human resources. This activity aims to form a smart ecovillage actor network to map the duties and responsibilities of work classifications consisting of eco-buddies, eco-leaders, and community leaders consisting of academics, students, social activists, government, and the industrial world. The actor-network that has been successfully formed is part of the Forum Relawan Pengabdi Bangsa which comes from universities consisting of students (eco buddies) and lecturers (eco-leaders), the Regional Government, Hiyung Village Government, and the Tapin Tengah District Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) as a community leader. Another network of actors from industry/activists/entrepreneurs, namely the Wirasoft Foundation and the Australian Diaspora, as well as a network of actors from village communities/village MSMEs, namely the 12 Hiyung Village Farmer Groups. The formation of the Smart Eco Village Actor Network in Hiyung Village is intended to build a network of information and resources for economic, social, and environmental development in Hiyung Village.

Abstract

This article aims to examine Al-Shawkani's interpretation in Al-Shawkani's hermeneutic theory in Tafsir Fathkhul Qadir eschatological verses as well as the implications of the theory and its application to various categorization models of interpretation studies. Using a qualitative literature methodology, it was found that Al-Shawkani's hermeneutics was applied to verses about the graves and the barzakh. This study produces conclusions. First, al-Shawkānī's hermeneutics is built on the principle of convergence between riwāyah and dirāyah. Viewed from the perspective of triadic structures in hermeneutics, "riwāyah" represents the authority of the author, while "dirāyah" represents the authority of the text. The convergence of riwāyah and dirāyah makes al-Shawkānī's interpretation rely on inclusive, egalitarian, and retrospective literalism. Second, al-Shawkānī applies hermeneutical principles consistently to his interpretation of the graves and the barzakh in the Qur'an. Meanwhile, in terms of the history of hermeneutics, what al-Shawkānī does is not far from the discussions that appear in classical hermeneutics, namely in the form of interpretation theory, philological methods, or linguistic understanding methods.
