Abstract

The Genre-Based Approach (GBA) has been widely reported as an effective framework for teaching writing; however, its implementation through the teaching cycle in blended learning environments remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate how the genre-based teaching cycle is implemented in teaching writing through blended learning and how it contributes to students’ academic writing development. A qualitative case study was conducted involving 30 students enrolled in a genre writing course at the English Language Department of a university in Indonesia. Data were collected through classroom observations, students’ reflective journals, and analyses of students’ written texts by comparing the diagnostic text to those written at the independent construction stage. The study revealed that teaching academic writing through GBA in a blended learning setting led to observable improvements in the teaching-learning process through GBA stages and in students’ academic writing in terms of genre, register, discourse, grammar, and graphic features. These findings show the value of integrating face-to-face and online learning within the genre-based teaching cycle to support academic writing development. The study also provides empirical insights into how GBA can be integrated into blended learning and offers useful guidance for academic writing instruction in higher education through technology-mediated pedagogy, with broader applicability as an instructional model for science-related study programs that require structured and discipline-specific academic texts.

Abstract

Science literacy is one example of a form of literacy that is important to introduce to children from an early age because at this time they are full of enthusiasm and curiosity about new things. However, currently, science literacy learning at Mutiara An-Naafi’u Kindergarten has not been implemented optimally. In the classroom, learning is still dominated by the use of LKA and the lecture method so that children do not get direct experience which causes children’s science literacy skills not to develop properly. In this study, agroschooling was utilized as a means of science literacy skills in early childhood at Mutiara An-Naafi’u Kindergarten. This study is intended to determine and assess the effectiveness of agroschooling in improving early childhood science literacy skills. This study used a type of quantitative research with an experimental approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects involved in the study were kindergarten B group students totaling 27 students. Data were extracted using observation, interview, and test techniques. In addition, data analysis techniques with normality test, T-test, and N-Gain test were also applied with the help of IBM SPSS Statistic 27. Based on the results of the paired sample t-test test, a significance value of 0.00 <0.05 was obtained, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. So it can be concluded that agroschooling is effective in improving literacy skills.

Abstract

Interest in learning in early childhood classrooms can decline when instruction relies on passive routines and limited hands-on activity. This study examined whether a guided experimental activity could increase learning interest among Group B kindergarten children (5–6 years) at Pertiwi Tluwuk Kindergarten. Using a non-equivalent control-group quasi-experimental design (N = 45; experimental n = 22, control n = 23), the experimental group participated in a low-cost science activity (“bubble fizzy”), while the control group received conventional instruction. Learning interest was measured before and after the intervention through a structured oral assessment administered consistently across groups. Post-test scores were substantially higher in the experimental group (M = 19.45, SD = 2.92) than in the control group (M = 9.96, SD = 3.32), with a mean difference of 9.50 points, 95% CI [7.61, 11.38]. An independent-samples t test showed a significant group difference, t(43) = 10.16, p < .001, with a very large effect size (Hedges’ g = 2.97). The study contributes to the global early childhood literature by showing that short, guided, hands-on experiments can strengthen learning interest in resource-constrained kindergarten settings. Practically, the findings imply that teachers can use brief inquiry-based activities that combine child agency, immediate feedback, and observable cause-effect sequences to increase classroom engagement. However, interpretation remains limited by non-random class assignment, single-site implementation, and reliance on one assessment format. Future studies should use larger multi-site samples, baseline-adjusted analyses, and multimethod measures to test the durability and transferability of the effect across diverse pedagogical, cultural, and institutional contexts.

Abstract

CaO sebagai katalis heterogen telah berhasil dibuat dari cangkang keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata L) dengan metode kalsinasi suhu tinggi. Kalsinasi masing-masing dilakukan pada suhu 600°C, 700°C, dan 900°C selama 4 jam. Hasil difraksi sinar-X menunjukan Puncak karakteristik kalsium oksida (CaO) pada sudut 2θ = 32,16°; 37,15°; 64,16° dan 67,5°, yang dikonfirmasi sesuai dengan standard CaO (JCPDS No. 82-1690). Berdasarkan data TGA kalsinasi cangkang keong mas pada suhu 900°C selama 4 jam diketahui mampu mengkonfersi cangkang keong mas menjadi katalis CaO sebanyak 46,37% berat. Pada suhu kalsiniasi 600°C dan 700°C selama 4 jam, menghasilkan CaCO3 kalsit 11,1% berat, dan  CaCO3 vetiret 2,79% berat. Hasil SEM menunjukkan bahwa ukuran partikel serbuk padatan terkecil dimiliki oleh katalis CaO yaitu 13-1,2 µm dengan sebaran yang homogen. CaCO3 kalsit pada 600oC dan 700oC masing-masing memiliki ukuran antara 2,2 mm - 2,5 µm dan 1,6 mm - 1,25 µm dengan sebaran yang heterogen.

Abstract

Pemanfaat sampah limbah bawang merah (Allium Cepa L) berupa kulit luar bawang dan bonggolnya sebagai salah satu bahan baku alternatif pembuatan biodisel.Dari ketiga sampel minyak hasil ekstraksi limbah kulit bawang merah dengan sampel 10gr, 20gr dan 30gr,proses ekstraksi 3 sampel tersebut diekstraksi dengan pelarut Methanol dan n-Heksana hingga mencapai 1 siklus disetiap sampelnya dan disetiap pelarutnya. Setelah itu lakukan proses distilasi sebanyak 20 ml untuk memisahkan hasil minyak dengan pelarut.Nilai %Yield berturut-turut yaitu 24%, 14% dan 13,3% dengan menggunakan pelarut Metanol dan 16%, 8%, 19% dengan menggunakan pelarut n-Heksana.pH yang dihasilkan dari ketiga sampel yaitu 6. FFA yang dihasilkan pada sampel 1,2 dan 3 berturut-turut yaitu, 3%, 2,1% dan 1,7% dengan menggunakan pelarut Metanol. Dengan menggunakan pelarut n-Heksana Sampel 1 menghasilkan kadar FFA sebesar 1,4% dan sampel 2 menghasilkan kadar FFA sebesar 0,8% serta pada sampel 3 menghasilkan %FFA sebesar 0,6%.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of public services at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Riau Province, which includes the availability, management, maintenance, and obstacles in providing legal services and correctional services. The conceptual framework of this research is built on the assumption that the quality of public services is not only determined by human resources and service systems, but is also strongly influenced by adequate, standardized, and supportive facilities and infrastructure for the needs of the community and service users. This research employs the Public Service Theory by Zeithaml, Parasuraman, and Berry (SERVQUAL) is used to measure service quality based on five dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consist of employees of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Riau Province, related Technical Implementation Units, as well as service users. The results show that the implementation of public services from the aspect of managing facilities and infrastructure has been carried out but is not yet fully optimal. Facilities such as waiting rooms, elderly-friendly service access, technology-based service systems, and correctional facilities still face shortcomings, including damaged conditions, limited capacity, and the failure to fully meet public service standards across all units. Improvement efforts have been made in the form of procuring priority facilities, basic facility maintenance, gradual budget adjustments, and the use of digital service technologies. Abstract

Indonesia remains one of the world's largest seaweed exporters; however, the optimisation of added value through the downstreaming of Gracilaria verrucosa still faces challenges regarding cultivation efficiency. This research aims to analyse the comparative cultivation techniques of the broadcast and longline methods, as well as the potential of polyculture systems at PT Rejeki Bintang Samudra. The parameters tested included biomass, Specific Growth Rate (SGR), and harvest productivity.The results indicated that both methods delivered superior performance, with biomass reaching 9,550 grams and an SGR of 3.13% at DOC 50. Productivity analysis based on harvest yields showed significant fluctuations at each sampling point, with a total accumulated weight of 118,740 kg from a total of 150 sacks. The highest productivity was recorded at the 40th sampling at 810.62 kg/sack, whilst the average total productivity stood at 791.6 kg/sack. Although both methods demonstrated excellent results, the reliance on monoculture systems remains a constraint for scalability. Consequently, the integration of Gracilaria verrucosa into a polyculture system with milkfish is recommended as a strategy for an aquaculture transformation that is more adaptive, sustainable, and of higher economic value.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika peran orang tua dan pengaruh karakteristik lingkungan rumah susun terhadap hambatan kemampuan bicara pada anak usia dini. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus tunggal, subjek penelitian difokuskan pada satu anak berinisial L berusia 6 tahun dan ibu kandung berinisial K sebagai informan utama di Rumah Susun Kaligawe, Semarang. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup tiga metode utama, yakni: wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur, observasi partisipatif terbatas dan studi dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan dua poin inti: (1) Lingkungan tempat tinggal dan keterbatasan ruang gerak sosial dalam hunian yang sempit, yang membatasi stimulasi interaksi verbal serta memicu isolasi sosial pada anak; dan (2) Terjadinya pergeseran peran pengasuhan menjadi permisif akibat tingginya beban domestik ibu, yang memicu penggunaan gawai secara pasif sebagai substitusi pengasuhan. Hasil penelitian ini memiliki implikasi teoretis dalam memperluas cakupan teori sistem lingkungan pada konteks hunian vertikal padat, serta implikasi praktis mengenai urgensi edukasi pengasuhan spesifik dan penyediaan ruang komunal inklusif bagi anak di permukiman padat.

Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the importance of fostering social awareness and a spirit of sharing with the community, especially during the month of Ramadan. The Takjil on the Road: Sharing Together, Serving Together program aims to provide direct benefits to the community, especially road users who are still active before breaking the fast, while also increasing the social awareness of students. The method used in this activity is a participatory approach that actively involves lecturers and students in every stage of the activity, from planning, preparation, implementation, to evaluation. The activity was carried out by distributing takjil packages to the community at predetermined locations. The results of the activity showed a positive response from the community and increased participation and social awareness of students in social activities. This activity is a tangible form of higher education's contribution to the community and a means of social learning for students.

Abstract

The obstacle which has suffered by students when they learn Arabic languange is their lower comprehending about languange structure. This matter can be knowed from KKM Arabic languange lesson in class VII C MTs Negeri 12 Banyuwangi that setted as 75, but only 10 students of 28 students can reach KKM whereas the other 18 students can’t yet reach KKM which setted. Else that, the data of daily test result analysis has indicated that the students ability of comprehending Arabic languange structure is very low. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the Make a Match model can improve the ability to understand the structure of Arabic in class VII C MTs Negeri 12 Banyuwangi at school? In this study using classroom action research (PTK). The plan of actions was held by two cycles. Each cycle consist of 4 phase, viz planning, acting, observation, and reflecting. Data collection has been held by doing individual asessment (test) and fused with triangulation technique viz interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis that are used is descriptive analysis technique. The result of this research is Make a Match model be able to improve ability of comprehending Arabic languange structure in class VII C MTs Negeri 12 Banyuwangi at school. That case based study completeness of student, percentage at the pre-cycle was 44% then improved at the first cycle 65,38% and at the second cycle become 80%.
