Abstract

The measurement of patient empowerment is important in the health care of chronic diseases, especially diabetes mellitus. The purpose of the study was to develop the patient empowerment index (‘IKP’/Indeks Keberdayaan Pasien) and its dimensions (patient knowledge, patient control, and patient participation) in patients with diabetes mellitus. The research utilized factor analysis in developing patient empowerment index for data analysis. Purposive sampling has been conductedwith 330respondents of diabetes mellitus patients from 26 hospitals in Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi). The variables measured using the Likert scale with a scale of 1 to 5, in which 1 indicates the level of strongly disagree and 5 indicates the level of strongly agree. The collected data were analysed with factor analysis. The results showed that the patient empowerment index consisted of 25.84 percent of knowledge dimensions, 33.44 percent of control dimensions and40.76 percent of participation dimensions. The total score of patient empowerment index value is 68.84 that is in the critical category, which means that consumers have control for the management of their disease conditions in their daily lives. The managerial implication based on the result was the emerging issues of the government to develop an empowerment index for each province in Indonesia that can be used as a benchmark and key performance indicator (KPI) to measure the governance of health programs so the patient empowerment can be increased.

Abstract

Online stores with more than 3000 reviews have made it difficult for consumers to find reviews that can be used as the main source of information to decide on a purchase. This research aims to investigate the credibility of reviews that consumers can be trusted. This research used mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) through sequential explanation. In this quantitative study, 300 respondents were collected using a voluntary sampling technique, and 900 reviews from three e-commerce sites in Indonesia were selected purposely. The qualitative approach used in-depth interviews with three consumers and a selected seller using a purposive sampling technique. The data was processed by multiple linear regression and descriptive using SPSS 25.0 and Nvivo 12. Research results confirmed that the motivation to read reviews and consumer attitudes toward reviews significantly affect online purchasing decisions, but a third of consumers still rarely provide reviews. Furthermore, based on source credibility, E-WOM quality, and recommendation rating, in the three e-commerce sites, almost half of the reviews studied were hard to be trusted. Based on these findings, this research summarizes the policy implications for consumers and governments and suggests future research.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Instagram content marketing strategies used by Kamo Pet Care, a rapidly growing pet care business in Indonesia. Contributing to the literature on digital marketing in emerging markets, this research applies a mixed-method content analysis to 244 Instagram posts (October 2023–2024), integrating the AISAS model and Direct Rating Method to assess content performance. Findings reveal that informational and entertainment content (73%) dominates over promotional posts, with effective use of both image (49%) and video (51%) formats. While 93% of posts succeed in capturing attention and evoke positive affective responses such as curiosity and happiness, only 0.08% of users complete the full AISAS journey. The study highlights a strong conversion rate (47% of promotional posts lead to purchases) but low content sharing (41% with <10 shares). Managerial implications suggest rebalancing content types, using edutainment, increasing shareability, and applying strategic scheduling to boost engagement and retention.

Abstract

Objectives: This study examines the roles of Trust, Brand Image, and Attitude Toward Using in shaping customers' Behavioral Intention toward digital banking usage. The study also investigates the mediating role of Attitude Toward Using in the relationships between Trust, Brand Image, and Behavioral Intention. Methodology: A quantitative survey was conducted among 267 active users of the Wondr by BNI application within BNI Regional Office 14. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the measurement model, structural model, and the proposed hypotheses. Findings: The results indicate that Trust significantly influences Attitude Toward Using (β = 0.515) and Behavioral Intention (β = 0.239). Brand Image also has significant positive effects on Attitude Toward Using (β = 0.361) and Behavioral Intention (β = 0.337), while Attitude Toward Using significantly influences Behavioral Intention (β = 0.244). Furthermore, Attitude Toward Using significantly mediates the relationships between Trust and Behavioral Intention (β = 0.125) as well as between Brand Image and Behavioral Intention (β = 0.088). The model explains 69.3% of the variance in Attitude Toward Using and 57.9% of the variance in Behavioral Intention. This study contributes to digital banking literature by demonstrating how institutional reputation and relational trust are translated into behavioral intention through users’ evaluative attitudes. Conclusion: Customers' Behavioral Intention toward digital banking is shaped by both direct and indirect relationships among Trust, Brand Image, and Attitude Toward Using. The findings highlight the importance of integrating institutional credibility, customer trust, and positive user attitudes to strengthen the sustained adoption of digital banking services.   Keywords: digital banking; behavioral intention; brand image; trust; attitude toward using

Abstract

The global demand for organic products reflects increasing awareness of sustainability in consumer behavior, especially in emerging markets such as Indonesia. Despite this growing trend, limited studies have applied data science approaches to model behavioral relationships within sustainability marketing. This study aims to examine how Sustainable Marketing (SM) influences Prosumption Motivation (PM) and Consciousness for Sustainable Consumption (CSC) among Indonesian organic product consumers. Using a quantitative design, data were collected through purposive sampling, yielding 400 valid responses from participants across Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Bali. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS was employed as a data science tool to estimate latent constructs and test predictive relationships. The results show that SM has a significant positive effect on PM (β = 0.923, CR = 19.347, p 0.001) and CSC (β = 0.991, CR = 21.764, p 0.001), while PM also significantly influences CSC (β = 0.742, CR = 19.306, p 0.001) and SM indirectly enhances CSC through PM (β = 0.652, CR = 19.306, p 0.001). These findings confirm all hypotheses and reveal a reciprocal relationship between motivation and consciousness, emphasizing a behavioral feedback loop that strengthens sustainable consumption. The study contributes to sustainability marketing by integrating SM, PM, and CSC into a unified predictive framework. Methodologically, it demonstrates how SEM serves as an applied data science technique capable of transforming behavioral data into actionable insights. The novelty lies in bridging behavioral science and data science to provide decision-support evidence for marketers and policymakers promoting prosumption and responsible consumption in emerging economies.

Abstract

Background: Cattle insurance has become a central instrument in agricultural risk management amid increasing climate variability, animal disease outbreaks, and market volatility. However, the intellectual structure and evolution of cattle insurance research remain fragmentedPurpose: This study maps the global scientific landscape of cattle insurance research from 2016–2025, identifies its thematic evolution and interdisciplinary knowledge structure, and evaluates Indonesia's research position relative to global developments. Indonesia is analysed separately because it represents an emerging economy with a national cattle insurance program (AUTS/K), yet its scientific contribution and integration into the international research network remain limitedDesign/methodology/approach: Employing bibliometric review, using 306 Scopus-indexed journal articles. Using VOSviewer 1.6.20 and Biblioshiny 5.0 we performed performance analysis and science mapping to examine publication trends, country contributions, collaboration networks, and thematic clusters. A supplementary analysis of 13 Indonesian publications was undertaken to characterize the country's thematic and methodological profile.Findings/Result: The annual publication output almost doubled from 26 articles in 2020 to 50 in 2025, demonstrating accelerating scientific interest in cattle insurance. Research was dominated by the United States (105 articles), China (31), and the United Kingdom (29), while Indonesia ranked 14th with 8 Scopus-indexed journal articles (2.6%) and exhibited no significant international co-authorship links. Three distinct knowledge domains structure the cattle insurance research literature: (1) climate risk and index-based livestock insurance, (2) behavioral determinants of cattle insurance adoption and willingness to pay, and (3) epidemiological and actuarial modelling of livestock mortality risk. Thematic evolution indicates that epidemiology, vaccination, and farmer decision-making have become major research frontiers after 2023. Compared with global developments, Indonesian research remains concentrated on adoption behavior, willingness to pay, and institutional program evaluation, relying predominantly on descriptive and conventional regression approaches, with limited integration of epidemiological modelling, actuarial methods, digital technologies, or international collaboration. Conclusion: The bibliometric findings highlight opportunities to strengthen the integration of behavioural, epidemiological, and actuarial perspectives, advance technology-oriented and data-driven research, and expand international research collaboration. Originality/value (State of the art): This study is among the first to systematically compare the thematic evolution, collaboration structure, and methodological orientation of global cattle insurance research with Indonesia’s research portfolio during 2016–2025 Keywords: adoption behavior, bibliometric analysis, cattle insurance, livestock insurance, risk management

Abstract

Background: The declining interest in agro-maritime higher education has become a strategic concern for Indonesia’s sustainable development agenda. As universities increasingly use digital marketing communication to attract prospective students, limited attention has been given to how digital communication, career-related perceptions, and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) constructs jointly shape students’ educational choices. Purpose: This study investigates students’ intentions toward agro-maritime higher education by examining the role of digital marketing communication within an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework.Design/methodology/approach: A cross-sectional survey was administered to 1,424 Grade XII science-track students from 44 senior high schools across six regions in Indonesia. The proposed model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS).Findings/Results: The model explains a substantial proportion of the variance in students’ intentions (R² = 0.588). Digital marketing communication was identified as the strongest determinant of intention (β = 0.447, total effect), influencing students both directly (β = 0.345) and indirectly through perceived career and employment prospects and attitude. Subjective norms and perceived behavioral control also showed significant positive effects on students’ intentions. Conclusion: The findings highlight the strategic role of digital marketing communication in shaping students’ educational choices by influencing their perceptions of future career opportunities and attitude toward agro-maritime study programs.Originality/value (State of the art): By integrating psychological, economic, and informational factors within a single framework, this study offers a more comprehensive explanation of higher-education choice behavior. The findings extend the TPB by demonstrating a communication-driven mechanism in which digital marketing communication shapes perceived career and employment prospects, which subsequently influences attitudes and intentions toward agro-maritime higher education.  Keywords: agro-maritime higher education, career and employment prospects, digital marketing communication, higher education choice, students’ intention
