Abstract

This community service initiative at RA Muslimat NU Kalegen 2 addressed the escalating environmental issues linked to improper waste disposal. Focusing on transforming plastic bottle caps into educational toys, the project aimed to instill environmental consciousness and creativity in children. Through direct demonstrations and engagement, participants were encouraged to repurpose waste materials. The positive outcomes, including increased knowledge, skills, and creativity among the children, were evident. The high satisfaction levels from participants underscore the success of the program in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility among young minds.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan restorative justice dalam menyelesaikan tindak pidana penganiayaan mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala di Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan yuridis empiris dan sifat penelitian preskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan restorative justice dalam kasus kekerasan antar mahasiswa di Universitas Syiah Kuala oleh Polresta Banda Aceh mulai dari mengkoordinasikan dialog antara pihak terkait, memfasilitasi proses mediasi antara pelaku dan korban, mencapai hasil kesepakatan perdamaian, dan penerbitan Surat Perintah Penghentian Penyidikan. Hambatan dalam penerapan keadilan restoratif diantaranya tantangan resistensi dari korban, tantangan kekurangan sumber daya, serta dinamika-dinamika yang muncul selama proses mediasi itu berlangsung. Upaya dalam mengatasi hambatan antara lain memprioritaskan komunikasi terbuka dengan korban, pelaku, dan pihak lain yang terlibat dalam kasus, melakukan pelatihan dan pengembangan kapasitas bagi personel Polresta Banda Aceh dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan mediasi, meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi alokasi sumber daya yang ada, dan mengajukan penambahan anggaran.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Emotional Intelligence and Work Culture on Work Commitment and its implications for Nurse Performance in hospitals in the Banten Province. Nurses play a pivotal role in the delivery of quality healthcare services, directly impacting patient recovery and overall hospital performance. The study adopts a quantitative approach with a survey method, collecting data from nurses at four city hospitals in Banten. The results show that both Emotional Intelligence and Work Culture have a significant positive effect on Work Commitment, which in turn, strongly influences Nurse Performance. Emotional Intelligence enables nurses to manage their emotions effectively, fostering stronger emotional engagement with their work. Meanwhile, a supportive Work Culture enhances collaboration and communication among nurses, further strengthening their commitment to their jobs. The findings also reveal that Work Commitment serves as a crucial mediator in the relationship between Emotional Intelligence, Work Culture, and Nurse Performance. Nurses with higher Emotional Intelligence are better equipped to handle stress and build stronger relationships with patients and colleagues, leading to improved performance. Similarly, a positive Work Culture fosters an environment where nurses feel valued and supported, increasing their dedication and job satisfaction. The study concludes that hospitals should prioritize strategies to enhance Emotional Intelligence and cultivate a positive Work Culture to improve both nurse performance and the overall quality of healthcare services.

Abstract

Povidone-iodine is considered to have the broadest spectrum of antimicrobial action compared with other common antiseptics. Based on the application protocol of commercial Povidone Iodine (PVP-I) mouthwash to support a healthy lifestyle, PVP-I is commonly used in concentrations of 1.0% with a contact time of 30 seconds. The higher the concentration of antiseptic, the smaller the time needed to kill microbes, but the maximum limit of concentration and contact time needs to be considered to minimize the toxicity effects to remain safe, effective, and efficient. This study aims to determine the comparison of germ numbers before and after gargling with povidone-iodine mouthwash based on variations in the concentration of 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, and 1% with variations in contact time of 15 and 30 seconds. The method of this research was an actual experiment with a pre-post-test design. Based on the Non-Parametric Friedman test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0,05), there is a significant difference between the germs number before and after gargling with PVP-I in every variation of concentration and contact time (p-value = 0.00). This study concludes that PVP-I 0.2% concentration variation with 15 seconds of contact time has been effective in decreasing the number of germs.

Abstract

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is a test of the rate at which erythrocytes settle in the plasma of a blood sample. Technical innovation in ESR inspection has greatly developed from semi-automatic to automatic methods. This research uses an experimental method which aims to determine the difference between the average ESR value of the Westergren method and the optical method and to determine patient characteristics through the ESR value at PJN Harapan Kita Jakarta. This study used 25 samples of heart disease patients diagnosed with CAD3VD, ADHF and MS Severe. Then a comparison test was carried out on the average ESR values ​​from two different methods, namely the Westergren method and the optical method. Significance analysis using the Mann-Whitney test obtained a p value of >0.05 indicating there was no significant difference between the average ESR value of the Westergren method and the optical method at PJN Harapan Kita Jakarta. The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant difference between the average ESR value of the Westergren method and the optical method at PJN Harapan Kita Jakarta and there is an increase in the ESR value in patients diagnosed with CAD3VD, ADHF or MS Severe.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) atau dinamakan SARS-CoV-2 yang merupakan virus jenis varian baru yang belum pernah diidentifikasi sebelumnya. Penelitian yang dilakukan oleh (Ponto et al., 2022) menyebutkan pada 90 pasien COVID-19 di labolatorium Rumah Sakit Umum Adhyaksa Jakarta menunjukkan 76,7% dengan rentang nilai 27-54 U/L pasien mengalami kenaikan SGOT/AST dan 77,8% dengan rentang 29-58 U/L pasien mengalami kenaikan SGPT/ALT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Asosiasi antara AST dan ALT pada pasien COVID-19 dengan Komorbid dan Non Komorbid Di Klinik B Kota Tangerang Tahun 2021 terhadap 70 pasien dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan case control yang diambil dari data rekam medik. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh, data pasien COVID-19 menunjukkan yang melakukan pemeriksaan berdasarkan jenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 39 orang (55,7%), dan perempuan sebanyak 31 orang (44,3%). Berdasarkan kelompok sampel hasil komorbid lebih dominan sebanyak 46 orang (65,7%) dibandingkan hasil non komorbid 24 orang (34,3%) dengan berdasarkan riwayat penyakit pada hipertensi lebih dominan sebanyak 29 orang (41,4%) dibandingkan diabetes Melitus sebanyak 17 orang (24,3%). Hasil uji Chi Square dan uji Fisher's Exact Test yaitu ada asosiasi antara kadar AST hari-1 dengan diperoleh (p=0,008), ada asosiasi antara kadar ALT hari-1 dengan diperoleh (p=0,044), ada asosiasi antara kadar AST hari-14 dengan diperoleh (p=0,020) dan tidak ada asosiasi antara kadar ALT hari-14 dengan diperoleh (p=0,543).

Abstract

Pulmonary TB is still a poor record of direct infectious disease control in Indonesia and even the world. The lack of HbA1c testing in TB patients has delayed early detection of TB-DM. Poor diabetes control can prolong the duration of TB treatment. Longer disease duration can lead to complications. The highest number of TB cases in DKI Jakarta is in the East Jakarta area, Budhi Asih Hospital conducts TB screening examinations for community coverage in East Jakarta. This study aims to determine the association of HbA1c with the results of the Lung TB screening test in patients at RSUD Budhi Asih Jakarta in 2022. The method used was descriptive analytic observational with a cross sectional design carried out in the medical records and laboratories of RSUD Budhi Asih Jakarta in February-June 2023 with 100 patient data. The results of the negative TB group were found in the controlled DM group, while the positive TB results were dominated by the uncontrolled DM group with the results of chi-square analysis there was a significant association between HbA1c results and the results of the Lung TB screening test in patients at RSUD Budhi Asih Jakarta in 2022 (p = 0.036) with Odds Ratio = 2.667. From this study, it is expected that it is important for screening patients and diagnosed with Lung TB to control glycemic levels by routinely checking HbA1c levels.

Abstract

Smoking behavior is a habit that is often found in everyday life in people in various places and one of the elements that can raise blood cholesterol levels. Nicotine is the main component in cigarettes that plays a role in increasing free fatty acids so that LDL levels become high. Another chemical found in cigarettes, acrolein, can damage HDL, thus disrupting HDL's task in collecting LDL. This study aims to determine the average difference in total cholesterol levels between smokers and non-smokers in private delivery service employees in Bantargebang, Bekasi City. This research method using an unpaired comparative analytic experimental method of 2 groups. The data analysis used is the Independent T test. The results of this study the average total cholesterol levels of each sample group of 25 respondents for smokers and non-smokers were 216.6 mg/dL and 179.2 mg/dL. Smokers who had been smoking for more than 10 years and who smoked between 11 and 21 cigarettes per day had total cholesterol levels above normal. Conclusion in this study found a significant difference in average total cholesterol levels between smokers and non-smokers in private delivery service employees in Bantargebang Bekasi City with a level of significance (α = 5%) (p=0.000). In smokers, nicotine and acrylonitrile are the main components that play a role in the occurrence of lipid disorders in the body.

Abstract

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a disorder that occurs in the wrist where inside the wrist there is a carpal tunnel through which the median nerve passes, as a result of excessive movement or pressure on the carpal tunnel which causes irritation of the median nerve. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of using gloves with pads and taps to reduce carpal tunnel syndrome pain, this research method used a pre and post experimental design, as many as 50 people were given gloves with pads and taps, the research subject was someone who worked more than 3 hours riding a motorbike in 1 day, in When driving, the wrist gets pressure when slowing down the vehicle and when passing through winding roads. The research subjects used gloves for 10 working days in two weeks, and used tapping for 2 weeks with a duration of 1 day on for 8 hours, 1 day off. The results of this study were 31 men and 19 women with an average age of 32.2 years and a pain average of 4.54 before and after 1.84 on the vas scale. In the statistical tests carried out, the value p=0.0001 was obtained where p< 0.05 so it can be concluded that the use of gloves and taps can reduce pain in cases of carpal tunnel syndrome.
