Abstract

Stunting dan gizi buruk merupakan permasalahan yang masih harus diselesaikan di Pulau Lombok. Diperlukan sinergi antar lembaga dan instansi untuk mengatasi permasalahan stunting dan gizi buruk. Kalangan akademisi, dosen dan mahasiswa adalah salah satunya. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, Tim Studi Independent melaksanakan sosialisasi pencegahan stunting dan gizi buruk kepada masyarakat pesisir Desa Cendi Manik Sekotong Lombok Barat. Kegiatan sosialisasi bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat Desa Cendi Manik akan pentingnya pemenuhan gizi seimbang dan kebersihan lingkungan dalam upaya pencegahan stunting dan gizi buruk. Sosialisasi diberikan kepada ibu-ibu wali murid PAUD Permata Hati Desa Cendi Manik yang disampaikan dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi. Materi sosialisasi yang disampaikan yaitu terkait Pola Asuh Anak Usia Dini, Pola Makan yang Baik melalui slogan Isi Piringku serta pentingnya Air, Sanitasi dan Kebersihan. Selain kegiatan sosialisasi tersebut, diselenggarakan juga Lomba Mewarnai yang diikuti oleh seluruh murid PAUD Permata Hati yang bertujuan untuk mengenalkan makanan sehat berupa sayuran dan buah-buahan. Baik wali murid maupun murid PAUD Permata Hati mengikuti kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dengan antusias.

Abstract

Penerapan berbagai model dan metodologi pembelajaran merupakan salah satu bentuk praktik berbasis pedagogi yang dilakukan oleh guru SMP di Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Mandalika, Lombok Tengah. Pengalaman ini perlu disebarluaskan sebagai acuan bagi guru di daerah lain. Salah satu cara penyebarluasan pengalaman tersebut adalah melalui publikasi karya ilmiah di jurnal terakreditasi yang merupakan salah satu bentuk kompetensi profesional guru. Salah satu kendala yang dihadapi adalah rutinitas mengajar di sekolah yang membuat guru kurang memiliki waktu untuk melakukan kegiatan publikasi ilmiah. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru SMP di KEK Mandalika dalam mempublikasikan karya ilmiahnya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dibagi menjadi tiga tahap utama. Tahap pertama adalah menginventarisasi praktik terbaik yang telah dilakukan oleh guru SMP di KEK Mandalika melalui diskusi kelompok terarah (FGD). Tahap kedua adalah memberikan penyuluhan dan pendampingan dalam penyusunan artikel dan publikasi ilmiah. Tahap terakhir adalah evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan layanan dinilai sangat baik oleh rata-rata 69% guru, sedangkan narasumber dinilai sama oleh 67% responden, terdapat peningkatan jumlah artikel yang siap untuk diserahkan.

Abstract

The literary work serves as a portrait of societal life, playing a crucial role in prompting individuals to contemplate the values and meanings of life. Novel Canai by Panji Sukma narrates the journey of a father during his youth, facing various social issues such as protests and demonstrations in support of the underprivileged against a corrupt regime. The present research aims to describe the social values depicted in Canai by Panji Sukma, utilizing a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review technique. The study draws data from the novel Canai, employing literature review methods and analyzed through Miles and Huberman’s techniques, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings illustrate various social values within the novel, including compassion (dedication, familial bonds, loyalty, compassion), responsibility (ownership, empathy), and harmonious living values (justice, tolerance, cooperation, democracy). These social values function as guiding principles, unifying factors, protective shields, and motivators in society.

Abstract

This community service initiative at RA Muslimat NU Kalegen 2 addressed the escalating environmental issues linked to improper waste disposal. Focusing on transforming plastic bottle caps into educational toys, the project aimed to instill environmental consciousness and creativity in children. Through direct demonstrations and engagement, participants were encouraged to repurpose waste materials. The positive outcomes, including increased knowledge, skills, and creativity among the children, were evident. The high satisfaction levels from participants underscore the success of the program in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility among young minds.

Abstract

Di era modern saat ini, teknologi kian pesat dalam segala perkembangannya. Tidak terkecuali dalam dunia pendidikan, proses kegiatan belajar mengajar yang juga kian bervariasi. Hal ini menuntut tenaga pendidik untuk tidak boleh tertinggal baik dari materi maupun teknik pembelajarannya. Canva merupakan suatu tools desain grafis untuk membantu dalam pembuatan desain kreatif yang mudah digunakan. Dalam kegiatan ini, dilaksanakan pelatihan pembuatan video pembelajaran menggunakan Canva bagi guru-guru SDN 23 dan 25 Teluk Pakedai Kalimantan Barat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru-guru dalam pembuatan video pembelajaran menggunakan Canva. Kegiatan ini memiliki 3 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan serta evaluasi. Tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan metode ceramah interaktif dan praktik. Pemaparan materi dilanjutkan dengan praktik pembuatan video pembelajaran. Dengan dilaksanakan pelatihan ini, para peserta mampu menciptakan video pembelajarannya sendiri dan dapat mengembangkan metode pembelajaran modern.   In today's modern era, technology is increasingly rapid in all its developments. No exception in the world of education, the process of teaching and learning activities is also increasingly varied. This requires educators not to be left behind in both the material and learning techniques. Canva is a graphic design tool to assist in creating creative designs that are easy to use. In this activity, a training was carried out on making learning videos using Canva for teachers of SDN 23 dan 25 Teluk Pakedai West Borneo. This activity aims to improve the ability of teachers in making learning videos using Canva. This activity has 3 stages, namely planning, implementing and evaluating. The implementation stage is carried out by the method of interactive lectures and practices. The presentation of the material continued with the practice of making learning videos. By conducting this training, the participants were able to create their own learning videos and were able to develop modern learning methods.

Abstract

The growth of E. coli is influenced by several factors, including environmental pH. Environmental pH unsuitable for bacterial growth conditions will interfere with the enzyme activity and influence bacterial growth. This study aimed to determine the effect of pH variations (5.3, 5.8, 6.3, 7.3, 7.8, 8.3) in EMBA medium on E. coli growth. The research method used was true experiment post-test-only control design. The samples in this study were suspensions with dilutions of 10-4, 10-5, 10-6, and 10-7, inoculated using the duplo test to EMBA with various pH conditions, so that the total sample size is 48. The results showed that the mean number of E. coli bacteria on EMBA with pH 5.3 was 9.1 x 106 CFU/mL; with pH 5.8 was 9.6 x 106 CFU/mL; with pH 6.3 was 1.2 x 107 CFU/mL; with pH 7.3 was 1.1 x 107 CFU/mL; with pH 7.8 was 9.7 x 106 CFU/mL; and with pH 8.3 was 7.1 x 106 CFU/mL. Growth in positive control showed the mean number 1.4 x 107 CFU/mL; negative control showed no growth of E. coli or other microorganisms. Based on the One-Way ANOVA statistical test with a 95% confidence level, there was no difference in the mean number of E. coli bacteria in the six pH variations of EMBA medium (p-value > 0.05). E. coli bacteria grew best at neutral pH. Its growth decreases in slightly acidic and slightly alkaline pH, but it can still be observed. This allows E. coli to survive in extreme pH. Pathogenic E. coli have developed the potential to live inside the human body. They will experience temporary stress in unfavourable conditions before finally adapting. The advice for future researchers is to test the effect of pH on E. coli growth by using other E. coli growth media or with a wider range of pH (more acidic and more basic). It is also recommended to conduct further research about the effect of various environmental conditions such as temperature, nutrients, and others on bacterial growth.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The incidence of obesity worldwide is rapidly increasing, both in developed and developing countries. Obesity, particularly central obesity, is an inflammatory condition occurring within the body. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a simple biomarker used to indicate the inflammatory response. This study aims to determine the profile of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in students with obesity at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya.  This study employs a descriptive-analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The study population comprises students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya; 47 individuals, with 30 obese individuals and 17 individuals with a normal BMI. The results showed that the average neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for individuals with a normal BMI is 1,95. In contrast, the average NLR for obese individuals is 2,09. There is an increase in the average neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) among obese students at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Keywords: Obesity, Neutrophil, Lymphocyte, Neutrophil-To-Lymphocyte Ratio

Abstract

Abstract Social pathologi is any behavior that is contrary to the norms that apply in society. This study aims to describe the forms of social pathology, factors causing social pathology, the impact of social pathology. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research that focuses on data collection in the form of writing. In this research, the data collection techniques uses the reading and note-taking method. Data analysis technique used is from Miles Huberman in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The object of research uses a novel manuscript entitled Bendera Setengah Tiang by Annisa Lim which will be published by Coconut Books in 2022. The results obtained in this study are found in various forms of social pathology, namely the pathology of criminality, corruption, gambling, prostitution, and mental disorder. Criminality in the form of brawls, sexual, harassment, teror threats, kidnappings, persecution, and murders. In addition, the are also various factors and impacts caused by social pathology. The forms of social pathology contained in the novel Bendera Setengah Tiang were analyzed using Kartini Kartono’s theory. Keywords: Social Pathology, Novel, Literary Sociology

Abstract

Sanitarian performance can be influenced by various factors, both internal and external. Understanding the influence of these factors is important to increase the commitment and effectiveness of sanitarian work. This research aimed to determine the influence of the work environment, work discipline, workload, and work motivation on sanitarian work commitment and its implications for sanitarian performance. The method used descriptive and verificative quantitative approach. The sample includes all Sanitarian in Community Health Centers throughout Bandung Raya totaling 222 people. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Techniques. The descriptive analysis showed influence of work environment, work discipline, workload, and work motivation on sanitarian work commitment are in category of being quite good towards good. The research verifiably showed influence work environment, work discipline, workload,and work motivation on sanitarian work commitment at Community Health Centers throughout Bandung Raya by 75.3%. Work commitment has a significant influence of 82.8% on sanitarian performance in environmental health services. The remaining 17.2% of sanitarian performance was influenced by other factors not studied in this study. This research confirms that sanitarian work commitment has a positive effect on their performance in health services. By understanding the factors that influence commitment and performance. Health center management can take strategic steps to create a more supportive work environment, improve discipline, manage workload, and motivate sanitarians. It is hoped this will improve the quality of environmental health services provided to the community, as well as create sanitarians who are more committed and productive in carrying out their duties.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate students' sustainability awareness and engagement and to analyze students' perception of the ESD Project in Biology lessons at an Indonesian Senior High School. This study uses a Mixed Method research design combining quantitative and qualitative research methods. The participants were Year X students of a Senior High School in Jakarta in the 2022/2023 academic year. Survey, journal of reflection, semi-structured interview, observations, and documentation, were used to collect data. Finding: This research found that ESD Project in biology lessons develops Indonesian students' sustainability awareness and engagement. Students change their mindset from being unconscious to become more concerned with environmental issues. Several evidence of the consciousness in this research includes applying sustainability in the daily practice, doing real action by creating campaign videos. The awareness is also shown by their beliefs, values, and judgments in their reflective journal, including developing environmental literacy, changing into pro-environment, and positive attitude to protect the environment. Secondly, PjBL learning model in Biology lessons is meaningful for students by stimulating their cognitive and behavioral engagement. The most popular activity of the ESD Project is creating the design of clothes from waste. The implementation of ESD Projects has some challenges such as time consuming, and low self-regulation among Indonesian high school students. Implications for research, practice, and policy are discussed.
