Fourth, the curriculum containsinformation of only the main competencies to be achieved and these still have to beinterpreted, clarified, broken down, completed, enriched, and put together througha lesson book. Fifth, the students, teacher, teaching materials, ways of presentingthem, and exercises are the important components of learning to be accommodatedin a lesson book. Sixth, contextual teaching employs a strategy oriented to effortsof aiding and inspiring students by linking a standard of competency with a realworldsituation. Seventh, the basic principles of a contextual teaching approach areproblem-based learning, context-based learning, difference-based learning, learning based on individuals, learning based on groups, and learning based onauthentic evaluation. Eighth, a contextual teaching strategy could be manifested ina lesson book of Bahasa Indonesia by providing such activities as investigation, exploration, inquiry, model making, construction, and reflection. Abstract

Politics (facts) and literature (fiction) are two things that both exist and are needed by society. The two are also often linked together. The specific relationship between politics understood as a way of doing things and literature understood as a practical form of writing. This study uses a qualitative descriptive design to trace the re-interpretation of political facts in modern Indonesian novels written during the post-reform era. The research data sources are post-reform novels published in modern Indonesian literature that reinterpret political facts. These political facts can be found through the thematic aspects, the mindset and actions of the characters, the arrangement of the plot (conflict), and descriptions of the story setting which are integral to the whole fictional story. The determination of novels to be used as data sources is based on the following considerations: (a) novels that re-interpret political facts related to the historical events of the 30 September 1965 Movement, (b) novels published during the post-reform era (2000s and above), and (c) novels written by female authors are of a generation that did not directly experience the events of the 30 September 1965 Movement. The results of the study are as follows. First, the political facts expressed in the novel, namely (a) the kidnapping and murder of seven generals, (b) the Cakrabirawa elite troops, (c) the kidnapping and murder of people who were considered to be part of the Indonesian Communist Party, (d) detention on the island Buru, (e) granting status as a descendant of the PKI, and (f) abolishing citizenship status for students studying in certain countries deemed to be affiliated with the communist party. Second, the reinterpretation of historical facts in the novel, namely (a) related to the journey of the past, (b) part of the journey of Indonesian history, (c) understanding from the human side, and (d) choices and awareness of the journey of life in the future. It is hoped that the results of the research can be implemented in teaching literature in schools and the wider community through scientific forums in an effort to socialize the possibility of using modern literary works as a source of historical information to support efforts to understand Indonesian history. If used critically and combined with other sources, novels that actualize and reinterpret political facts can be used as a source of knowledge and understanding of the nation's history. Keywords: political facts, reinterpretation, G30S/PKI movement, modern Indonesian novels

Abstract

Educational budget planning has a strategic role in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of financing in elementary schools. This study aims to examine the strategy of educational budget planning in improving the quality of financial management in five public elementary schools in Karawang Regency. The approach used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that budget preparation is carried out in a participatory manner, based on needs, and in line with the vision, mission, and School Work Plan (RKS). The principles of transparency, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness are the main foundations in the budgeting process. Despite challenges such as late disbursement of funds and budget constraints, schools develop adaptive strategies through periodic evaluations, use of bridging funds, external collaboration, and utilization of information technology. These findings emphasize the importance of systematic and inclusive budget planning in realizing financial governance that supports the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

Formal education that used to be done face-to-face in schools is now being conducted online. Changes in the implementation of this learning certainly have an impact on various parties. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of the implementation of online learning from the teacher's point of view and what obstacles were encountered. The research method used in this research was descriptive-qualitative method with questionnaires and interviews as instruments. As a result, there were three obstacles in the implementation of online learning, namely quotas and signals, dependence on parents, and boredom of students in the learning process. The media used by the teachers were WhatsApp, Zoom Meeting, Edmodo, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Form, and Youtube. All of them hope that face-to-face class activities as usual can be carried out soon because the effectiveness of learning is better if it is done face-to-face.

Abstract

Effective financial management in public schools plays a crucial role in sustaining educational services, particularly during the implementation of student admissions, which requires efficient and accountable planning and funding. However, the diversity of funding sources and the limited financial management capacity of schools remain persistent challenges. This study aims to describe the funding practices for PPDB and analyze the strategies used by public schools to optimize various financial sources. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected using structured questionnaires distributed to principals and treasurers of several public schools. The data were analyzed thematically and presented in visual formats. Findings indicate that the five main funding sources for PPDB activities are BOS (School Operational Support), RKAS (School Budget and Activity Plans), school committee funds, local education office support, and parents' contributions. While BOS remains the most dominant source, schools are also making efforts to diversify funding. The study concludes that multi-source funding requires transparent, collaborative, and adaptive financial governance. This research contributes to the academic discourse by highlighting the need for managerial capacity building and digital-based financial systems in order to strengthen school-level education financing and ensure equity in educational service delivery.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy at the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture, Yogyakarta State University, from the perspective of students. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data collected from questionnaires filled out by 63 participants with qualitative insights obtained from interviews with 2 MBKM lecturers and 2 students who have taken part in the MBKM program. The study investigates students’ understanding, satisfaction, perceived effectiveness, and relevance of the MBKM program, as well as challenges faced during its implementation. Results indicate that students generally understand the MBKM objectives and benefit from enhanced skills, practical experiences, and preparation for the workforce. However, issues such as administrative complexity, limited guidance, and insufficient socialization were identified as significant barriers. The study highlights the need for improved information dissemination, streamlined administrative processes, and stronger institutional support to enhance program effectiveness. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on student perspectives, offering valuable insights into how the MBKM policy impacts educational experiences and identifying actionable recommendations for program improvement. This study contributes to the ongoing evaluation of MBKM, ensuring it aligns with students' needs and institutional objectives in preparing graduates for the 21st-century workforce.
