Abstract

ABSTRACT Fossil energy, which is the main source of electricity generation in many countries, makes a major contribution to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Volioh photo solar energy panels (PV) offer an environmentally friendly solution, by utilizing abundant and unlimited solar energy. On-grid PV systems connect solar power plants to the power grid, enabling distributed energy production and efficient utilization of renewable resources. This research The use of on-grid PV-based solar energy is expected to be an important step in creating a more sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly energy system. The results of the research show that when measuring PV without load, the PV voltage increases as the light intensity received by the PV increases, but the PV voltage experiences saturation starting from the light intensity of 164 lux. In the PV test under load the voltage is almost constant around (226.2 to 237.6) votl with changes in load current around (4.94 to 6.76) A Keywords: Solar Power Plant (PLTS). Abstract

The need for aroma recognition devices or often known as enose (electronic nose), is increasing. In the health field, enose can detect early diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 from the aroma of urine. Enose is an aroma recognition tool that uses a pattern recognition algorithm to recognize the urine aroma of diabetics based on input signals from an array of gas sensors. The need for portable enose devices is increasing due to the increasing need for real-time needs. Enose devices have an enormous impact on the choice of the gas sensor Array in the enose. This article discusses the effect of the number of sensor arrays used on the recognition results. Enose uses a maximum of 4 sensors, with a maximum feature matrix. After that, the feature matrix enters the PCA (Principal Component Analysis) feature extraction and clustering using the FCM (Fuzzy C Means) method. The number of sensors indicates the number of features. Enose using method for feature selection, it’s a variation from 4 sensors, where experiment 1 uses 4 sensors, experiment 2 uses a variation of 3 sensors and experiment 3 uses a variation of 2 sensors. Especially for sensors 3 and 4 using feature extraction method, PCA (Principal Component Analysis), to reduce features to only 2 best features. As for the variation of 2 sensors use primer feature matrix. After feature selection, the number of features is 2 out of 11 variations. Next, do the grouping using the FCM (Fuzzy C Means) method. The results show that using two sensors has a high accuracy rate of 92.5%.

Abstract

This study investigated about persuasive power and rhetorical style in Barrack Obama’s and John McCain’s speeches to answer two problems: how Barrack Obama’s and John McCain’s political speeches conveyed persuasive power as reflected in their rhetorical styles and what the differences of Barrack Obama’s political speeches from John McCain’s speeches are in terms of: persuasive power of the message conveyed and the rhetorical style from eighteen speeches during Presidential Election Campaign of United States in 2008. The researcher used rhetorical criticism as the technique in analyzing the data. The data of the present study were sentences which were considered to have persuasive power that were created by using rhetorical style. Having analyzed the data, the researcher revealed the following findings: (1) The researcher found that both Obama and John McCain used rhetorical style to convey the meaning in their speeches. Yet, they produced the rhetorical style differently in case of the time they brought into the speeches; Obama brought the future but McCain brought the past; (2) Obama had more persuasive power in his speech comparing with John McCain since he produced more frequent and more various rhetorical style.

Abstract

Piil Pesenggiri is a philosophy of life of the Lampung people that emphasizes self-esteem, honor, and social norms in community life. These values include nemui nyimah (friendliness), nengah nyappur (adaptiveness), sakai sambayan (mutual cooperation), and juluk adek (maintaining dignity). However, globalization and modernization have caused a shift in its application, especially among the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the application of Piil Pesenggiri and the challenges faced from a legal sociology perspective, which includes social norms, social control, customary law, and modernization integration. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and thematic analysis of relevant literature. The results of the study indicate that individualism, the influence of social media, and urbanization are the main factors that weaken the application of Piil Pesenggiri values. In addition, the decreasing role of the family and the lack of integration of cultural values in education also accelerate the degradation of this culture. The implications of this study confirm that although the values of Piil Pesenggiri face challenges, these values still have an important role in shaping the identity and social character of the Lampung community. Therefore, preservation strategies such as cultural education, family roles, revitalization of traditions, and the use of digital technology must be implemented so that these values remain relevant and can be passed on to future generations.

Abstract

Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF) is a description of qualification levels for all Indonesian learning outcomes or certificate statements in Indonesian schooling from year 9 to higher education. The IQF holds a legal endorsement in the form of Presidential Decree no. 8/2012. This IQF will specify equivalencies between Indonesian and foreign qualifications, thus improving Indonesia’s international competitiveness and making the country more open to global trade. As a consequence, the structures of curriculum in all Indonesian educations should base on this document. Defined as the expanding circle countries in Kachru’s concentric circles, Indonesia needs English language teacher education with appropriate structures of curriculum relevant to the global world and 21st century learning. This article intends to describe the IQF, the 21st Century learning, and the upcoming structure of the EL Teacher education Curriculum in Indonesia. More specifically, this article aims at analyzing: 1) how Indonesian Teachers should develop their curriculum according to the IQF descriptors; 2) how macro-social factors in SLA such as global and national status of L2, boundaries and identities, or institutional forces and constraints should be considered in the development of the curriculum structures of English language teacher education; and 3) how the 21st century trends should be blended in the curriculum.

Abstract

Abstract

Discrimination against transgender women (waria) in society remains a complex and ongoing social issue. The negative stigma attached to waria is often reinforced by social norms, cultural beliefs, and religious perspectives that uphold a binary gender concept. As a result, waria face discrimination in various aspects of life, including within their families, social environments, workplaces, and access to healthcare and education. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method using in-depth interviews and observations to explore the experiences of discrimination faced by waria and the public's perception of their existence. The findings reveal that social stigma significantly contributes to the marginalization of waria, making it difficult for them to obtain decent employment and leading to rejection within their communities. The media also plays a role in reinforcing negative stereotypes, further exacerbating discrimination against waria. The impact of this discrimination includes psychological distress, economic limitations, and an increased risk of physical and verbal violence. Therefore, more inclusive policies, public education on gender diversity, and the media’s role in fostering a more positive image of waria are essential. Through a more humanistic and human rights-based approach, it is hoped that stigma against waria can be reduced, allowing them to live with dignity and gain social acceptance.
