Abstract

In the contemporary era characterized by globalization and swift democratic progress, Indonesia encounters distinctive challenges of rising political expenses. This article utilizes qualitative research methodologies to examine the consequences of increasing political costs on the dynamics of Indonesian democracy, specifically concerning accountability and financial support for political parties. The main findings suggest that the financial assistance to political parties in Indonesia has not adequately tackled the forthcoming challenges that Indonesian democracy may encounter. In contrast, political parties persist in facing challenges in accountability mechanisms for the funds they acquire. The provision of financial aid may be perceived as a feasible approach to mitigate the financial burdens associated with political campaigns. However, in the absence of adequate mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability, there is a possibility of corruption and concerns regarding the scope of funding. This article further emphasizes the significance of political education as a fundamental obligation of political parties to uphold democratic efficacy. This study places particular emphasis on the ramifications of providing financial assistance to political parties for the future trajectory of Indonesian democracy. To ensure the continued progress of democracy in Indonesia and realize the “Golden Indonesia 2045” vision, stakeholders must possess a comprehensive comprehension of the matter and effectively tackle the obstacles that arise from the significant political expenses involved.

Abstract

Project-based learning is a student-centered method of organizing learning in projects in which the students drive their learning and the teacher plays as facilitator in a project designed. This research aimed to explore the implementation steps of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach employed by a teacher in an EFL classroom. It used a descriptive qualitative method. For the description of PjBL steps, the researchers administered classroom observation and in-depth interviews taking an English teacher as the informant at Al Ihsan Islamic boarding School, Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi. The findings revealed that the teacher implemented three major steps of PjBL in English language teaching, that is (1) planning and preparation, (2) the project work, and (3) report and presentation. Planning and preparation steps showed the best sample of previous project work referring to a real-life example of language usage and building the project activities’ framework; the project work step guided the project’s implementation and monitored the progress of the students’ project; and report and presentation step bridged the discussion and encouraged peer assessment among the students’ work. Based on these three steps, it is concluded that the implementation of PjBL had a positive impact not only on English language learning as a whole but also on other areas of learning, that is critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills of the students as well.

Abstract

The study explores the implementation of the Nemo Plus Juris principle by Land Deed Officials (PPAT) in Indonesia, focusing on its role in overseeing the transfer of land rights. Analyzing a case study, the research investigates PPAT's responsibilities, the legal certainty ensured by the Nemo Plus Juris principle in land transactions, and the legal analysis of a specific court decision (No. 2678/K/Pdt/2015) related to this principle. Employing a normative juridical approach, the study draws on court decisions and legal literature. PPAT's accountability aligns with Government Regulation No. 24 of 1997, emphasizing adherence to legal provisions during land rights transfer. The Nemo Plus Juris principle, highlighted in Article 37(1) of the regulation, invalidates transfers by unauthorized entities, underscoring the significance of valid deeds in legitimizing land transactions. The court decision recognizes the principle's importance, confirming rightful ownership based on evidence from PPAT-issued Sale and Purchase Deeds. This study contributes to clarifying PPAT's adherence to legal norms and understanding judges' considerations in upholding the Nemo Plus Juris principle, essential in land ownership disputes.
