Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of WhatsApp for learning English in SMP Islam As-Shofa and the differences between male and female perceptions about use Whatsapp. This research is a quantitative descriptive study involving 2 classes totaling 50 students. The instrument used is a questionnaire to get data easily during the pandemic. Data collection was carried out by distributing online questionnaires to 9th-grade students of SMP Islam As-Shofa via group Whatsapp to the students. The data were analyzed using a Likert scale to determine students' perceptions of using Whatsapp for learning English. The results showed that learning through whatsapp was quite feasible to use with the results of a percentage of 40% having a positive perception and for the difference between male and female students with a percentage of 24.4% of male students answering agree for positive perception, and with a percentage of 21% female students answering agree for positive perception, while for the negative perception, the result with a percentage 45.2% students answered disagree and with a percentage 22.4% female students answered disagree.

Abstract

Abstrack:Academic procrastination is a behavior carried out by someone by delaying doing the tasks given by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of classical guidance on reducing student academic procrastination at SSMA Negeri 1 Tambang. This type of research is a quasi-eksperiment design. This study uses a design in the form of one group pretest-posttest. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class XI IPS who had high academic procrastination bassed on the academic procrastination measurement scale with 6 meetings. The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of classical guidance to reduce academic procrastination of students at SMA Negeri 1 Tambang.Key Words: Academic Procrastination, Influence, Classical Guidance

Abstract

Tandan kelapa sawit dapat diolah menjadi gula merah. Permasalahan pokokyang terindentifikasi adalah kurangnya pengetahuan pemilik usaha gula merah nira sawit ini tentang ilmu manajemen usaha dan ketarmpilan hidup. Sementara itu, pihak perangkat Desa, koperasi atau Badan Usaha Milik Kampung, majelis taklim, dan organisasi sosial lainnya kurang mendukung aktifitas usaha ini, meskipun prospek usaha gula merah nira sawit sangat menjanjikan. Pembinaan manajemen usaha yang dilakukan meliputi kegiatan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengarahan, dan pengendalian. Pembinaan Manajemen life skill yang dilakukan meliputi (1) kecakapan personal; (2) kecakapan sosial (3) kecakapan akademik; dan (4) kecakapan vokasional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket respon peserta dengan analisis data menggunakan Teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh bahwa tingkat daya serap terhadap kegiatan pembinaan manajemen life skill usaha gula merah nira sawit di Maredan Barat Kecamatan Tualang Kabupaten Siak tergolong sedang, yaitu dengan Nilai Mean 3,99.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui perpustakaan desa berbasis inklusi sosial ditujukan untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan fasilitas seperti taman baca masyarakat oleh semua kalangan di desa Sibuak. Selain itu, inklusi sosial disini juga bertujuan agar yang memanfaatkan fasilitas perpustakaan desa tidak hanya masyarakat desa Sibuak saja tetapi juga masyarakat dari desa-desa di sekitarnya. Pelaksanaan program pemberdayaan ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan yang meliputi: 1) rekonsiderasi; 2) investigasi/pebgamatan ; 3) persiapan; 4) pelakasanaan; dan 5) evaluasi dengan cara mendokumentasikan, membuat laporan kegiatan, mempublikasikan dalam bentuk artikel maupun publikasi media massa. Hasil survey kepuasan mitra menunjukkan bahwa sangat baik.Pelaksanaan kegiatan dan penyampaian materi pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui perpustakaan desa berbasis inklusi sosial sudah terlaksana dengan baik, dengan tingkat daya serap peserta terhadap materi pengabdian masyarakat diketahui daya serap peserta sudah tergolong baik, yaitu 78,83% dan daya Serap Peserta terhadap Materi inklusi sosial sudah tergolong baik, yaitu 78,00%.

Abstract

The 21st century is a century that is full of challenges. Advances in technology that are increasingly developing make humans have to be ready to accept various kinds of changes. Various competencies needed by students in the current era of globalization are often referred to as 21st-century skills, and the concept of education is known as 21st-century learning. Based on the times, the current assessment refers to 21st-century learning, which is related to critical thinking, creative thinking, communication skills, and collaboration skills. The application of 21st-century learning cannot be separated from 21st-century assessment. The purpose of the study in this paper is to determine whether the teachers were familiar with and applied 21st-century learning assessment or not, especially in learning English. This research used a descriptive qualitative research method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that of the four 21st-century learning indicators, English teachers have started implementing 21st-century learning assessments. It can be concluded that English teachers have begun to adjust their assessment rubrics according to the indicators that exist in each type of skill possessed by students, namely critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.

Abstract

Pendidikan dapat menciptakan pengetahuan yang kreatif dan inovatif karena selalu diperbarui. Pendidikan juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan, membangun karakter, mencerdaskan kehidupan masyarakat, serta meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan martabat manusia di Indonesia. Salah satu cara untuk menyempurnakan konsep sistem pendidikan nasional adalah melalui pendekatan progresif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memgkaji literatur review dari beberapa temuan penelitian yang telah dipublikasikan pada sebuah jurnal yang terkait dengan pandangan filsafat progresivisme John Dewey yang dilakukan pada pembelajaran kurikulum merdeka belajar kampus merdeka. Berdasarkan telaah literatur, ditemukan bahwa peranan belajar merdeka di perguruan tinggi sangatlah penting dalam pengembangan masyarakat pendidikan Indonesia. Hal ini disebabkan oleh merdeka belajar kampus merdeka merupakan salah satu bentuk percepatan respon terhadap permasalahan pendidikan dan globalisasi. Hal ini juga sejalan dengan kecenderungan progresivisme yang sangat berpengaruh, yang membutuhkan perubahan cepat.

Abstract

Calon ahli gizi berkewajiban untuk mempunyai kemampuan dalam merencanakan menu diet pasien menggunakan instrumen. Akan tetapi instrumen yang ada masih memiliki kelemahan. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat instrument teknologi perencanaan menu diet. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan sistem adalah pendekatan metode system development life cyrcle(SDLC) yang mana alurnya meliputi perencanaan proses bisnis, analisis sistem lama dan kebutuhan sistem baru, desain sistem yang membuat tampilan antarmuka atau interface dan pengujian sistem. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sistem informasi instrumen perencanaan menu diet berbasis website dengan kebutuhan instrumen yang memiliki data bahan makanan dari Indonesia, dapat menghitung secara langsung dan tidak memerlukan waktu banyak, ada fitur edit untuk mengubah data perencanaan yang sudah ada, dan ada fitur detail untuk melihat detail kandungan gizi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa dari 13 fitur yang ada berhasil tanpa adanya kesalahan ataupun eror. Sedangkan berdasarkan pengujian penerimaan pengguna dari segi alur fungsi fitur menunjukan bahwa 47% responden mengatakan sangat mudah dilakukan, pada faktor manfaat menunjukan 61% responden sangat seuju dan pada faktor kemudahan menunjukan 35% responden sangat setuju.

Abstract

The issue is that history is generally taught in schools in a conventional manner, relying solely on textbook explanations and attempting to gather facts about what happened in the past. As a result, history classes have always come to be associated with memorization and recollection of past events, making it harder for students to acquire higher-order thinking abilities like historical thinking. To distribute the potential that students must possess, relevant paradigms, methods, tactics, models, and processes must be used to develop historical thinking abilities. The goal of this research is to develop a local history learning model based on the progressivism paradigm that will aid students in improving their historical thinking abilities. This study is a development studies project based on Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel's 4D development design. The research stage is modified according to the needs and goals of the study. Interviews, open questionnaires, validation sheets, and historical thinking skills tests were used to gather data for the study. This study enlisted the participation of 160 students from Riau University's history education program. Our study's findings show that the local history learning model based on the progressive paradigm was valid and reliable as a learning model in local history learning and had a significant impact on students at Riau University's think historically. The summative evaluation indicated that the progressivism-based local history learning model was extremely effective in improving higher-order thinking abilities like historical thinking. Abstract

This study investigated kinds and reasons of code-switching employed by the EFL learners at one of the Universities in Riau Province, Indonesia, with a qualitative approach. The code-switching data were collected based on natural interactions that occurred naturally through phone calls. The participants of this study were the 7th semester students of the English Department at one of the universities in Riau province. The natural interactions through phone calls were audiotaped, and the audios were transcribed. Furthermore, the transcribed audio got classified and analyzed based on its types and functions. Besides, interviews were also conducted in this study to gather the reasons for the use or functions of code-switching based on the learners’ perspectives. Thenceforth, the classified data was validated by the experts of code-switching to make sure the data was ideally correct. The findings showed that learners used Inter-sentential code- switching and Intra-sentential code-switching. Dealing with the second research aims, the reasons for code-switching was used to clarify speech content, to talk about particular topics, to use repetition to clarify something, to show emphatic, to provide emphasis on something and also for lexical needs. However, the EFL learners at one of the Universities in Riau Province, Indonesia, not only used an English-Indonesian switching but also Indonesian-English switching in English- based conversation.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has influenced the current leadership style. Leadership not only can be implemented face-to-face, but can also be done through the use of electronic devices and the internet, which is called e-leadership. This study aims to obtain an empirical picture about the influence of digital literacy and digital workplace on e-leadership of educators and education staff of State Vocational Schools 5 Pekanbaru – Riau, either partially or simultaneously. This research was conducted from January to June 2022, but the data was collected in March 2022. The research instrument was a questionnaire given to 95 educators and education staff selected as the samples. The obtained data then analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of data analysis show that digital literacy has a significant influence as many as 30% on e-leadership and the digital workplace has a significant influence as many as 47.1% on e-leadership. Simultaneously digital literacy and digital workplace influence as many as 32%. on e-leadership. This implies that  it is necessary to improve the digital literacy and digital workplace skills of educators and education staff of State Vocational Schools 5 Pekanbaru – Riau to improve their e-leadership skills
