Abstract

The aging population in Indonesia has triggered an urgent need for community-based elderly services that focus not only on physical health but also on psychological well-being. This study aims to explore the program strategies of the Elderly School of ‘Aisyiyah (ESA) Surakarta in meeting the socioemotional needs of the elderly and to analyze implementation challenges through the lens of Socioemotional Selectivity Theory (SST). This research employed a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with program managers and intensive observation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that ESA applies a flexible curriculum strategy integrated into four main pillars: Religion, Psychology, Health, and Arts and Sports. This strategy effectively facilitates the transition of elderly motivation from knowledge-related goals to emotion-related goals. This success is empirically validated through the phenomenon of color psychology, where a shift in participants' artwork preferences occurred from the spectrum of excitement (red-yellow) to the spectrum of tranquility (green-blue). However, program implementation faces internal challenges such as physical degradation, situational depression, and post-power syndrome resistance. This study concludes that a personalized approach adaptive to the elderly's perceived remaining time is the key to achieving inner peace and husnul khotimah. ABSTRAK Penuaan populasi di Indonesia memicu urgensi layanan lansia berbasis komunitas yang tidak hanya berfokus pada fisik, tetapi juga kesejahteraan psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi program Elderly School of ‘Aisyiyah (ESA) Surakarta dalam memenuhi kebutuhan sosioemosional lansia serta membedah tantangan implementasinya melalui lensa Socioemotional Selectivity Theory (SST). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap pengelola program dan diobservasi secara intensif, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ESA menerapkan strategi kurikulum fleksibel yang terintegrasi dalam empat pilar utama: Agama, Psikologi, Kesehatan, serta Seni dan Olahraga. Strategi ini terbukti efektif memfasilitasi transisi motivasi lansia dari tujuan berbasis pengetahuan (knowledge-related goals) menuju tujuan berbasis emosi (emotion-related goals). Keberhasilan ini tervalidasi secara empiris melalui fenomena psikologi warna, di mana terjadi pergeseran preferensi karya seni peserta dari spektrum gairah (merah-kuning) menuju spektrum ketenangan (hijau-biru). Meskipun demikian, implementasi program menghadapi tantangan internal berupa degradasi fisik, depresi situasional, dan resistensi post-power syndrome. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan personalisasi yang adaptif terhadap sisa waktu hidup lansia adalah kunci utama dalam mewujudkan ketenangan batin dan husnul khotimah.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan humanistik sebagai penguatan profil Pelajar Pancasila pada dimensi beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa serta berakhlak mulia di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 dan SMK Muhammadiyah 6 Gemolong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua sekolah telah mengimplementasikan pendekatan humanistik dalam pendidikan yang menekankan pada pengembangan potensi individu secara maksimal. SMK Muhammadiyah 3 lebih fokus pada kegiatan keagamaan dengan penekanan pada disiplin dan nilai-nilai Islam, sementara SMK Muhammadiyah 6 menawarkan program yang lebih beragam dan teratur, mencerminkan pendekatan humanistik yang holistik. Implementasi ini tidak hanya sebagai sarana penyampaian informasi tetapi juga sebagai fasilitator yang menginspirasi pelajar untuk terus belajar dan mengamalkan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Kegiatan seperti doa bersama, murojaah surat pendek, dan sholat dhuha membantu membentuk kebiasaan baik dan disiplin pada siswa.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of organizational workload in the Student Council (OSIS) on stress levels and mental health among eleventh-grade student leaders at Muharrikunajah Islamic Boarding School, Klaten. Student organizations in boarding schools play an important role in character and leadership development, yet excessive responsibilities may create psychological pressure. The research aims to analyze the level of organizational workload, identify stress symptoms, and describe the mental health condition of OSIS administrators. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a survey method. Data were collected from six core OSIS administrators through a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire complemented by open-ended questions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the organizational workload ranges from moderate to high, particularly due to intensive activities, frequent night meetings, and limited supervisor support. Stress levels varied from low to high, with the OSIS chairman experiencing the highest stress. Although learning motivation and emotional regulation remained relatively stable, disturbances were found in daily balance and spiritual calmness. These results highlight the need for stronger supervision, proportional task distribution, and institutional support to maintain students’ mental well-being.

Abstract

Psikologi perkembangan merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu psikologi yang mempelajari perubahan mental dan perilaku yang terjadi sepanjang hidup seseorang, termasuk aspek kognitif, sosial, emosional dan motivasional, dengan peran psikologi perkembangan Pendidikan kepemimpinan bisa diterapkan dengan baik dengan melihat setiap kompetensi setiap murid. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, pendekatan kualitatif adalah suatu penelitian ilmiah yang bertujuan untuk memahami suatu fenomena dalam konteks sosial secara alamiah dengan mengedepankan proses interaksi komunikasi yang mendalam antara peneliti dengan fenomena yang diteliti. Bentuk kegiatan di sekolah membantu untuk pembentukan karakter kepemimpinan didalam diri mereka.Di SMP Insan Cendekia Boarding School Sukoharjo juga menerapkan Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah (OSIS) untuk menjadikan murid, sebagai pengurus didalamnya lebih terlatih dalam segi kepemimpinan Selain itu didalam kehidupan sehari hari,Pendekatan psikologi perkembangan dalam Pendidikan kepemimpinan di SMP Insan Cendekia Boarding School Sukoharjo Didukung dengan kegiatan sekolah serta kegiatan diasrama menjadikan proses Pendidikan kepemimpinan ini berjalan dengan baik. Peran psikologi perkembangan dalam pembentukan karakter menjadi pondasi dasar untuk memberikan arah dan bimbingan yang sesuai dengan kepribadian setiap murid. Psikologi perkembangan juga menjadi dasar untuk memberikan tugas, bimbingan serta kebijakan dalam proses Pendidikan karaktrer kepemimpinan ini.

Abstract

Kesadaran kebersihan di pesantren merupakan faktor penting dalam pembentukan karakter santri, namun sering terabaikan dalam praktik sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesadaran kebersihan santri, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi, dan peran pengasuh serta guru di Pondok Pesantren Rumah Setia Putra Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik purposive sampling pada mudir pondok, satu ustadz pendamping, dan dua santri sebagai informan utama. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis tematik mengidentifikasi tiga tema utama: "kebiasaan kebersihan rutin," "ketergantungan pada pengawasan eksternal," dan "faktor lingkungan pesantren." Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran kebersihan santri meningkat, namun masih bergantung pada pengawasan eksternal. Faktor yang memengaruhi perilaku kebersihan santri antara lain pengaruh keluarga, pendidikan agama, dan keteladanan guru. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan program pembinaan berbasis nilai-nilai Islam serta sistem keteladanan yang konsisten untuk menumbuhkan budaya kebersihan dan disiplin di lingkungan pesantren.

Abstract

Objective: The fundamental purpose of education is to cultivate learners’ capacity to think critically as an essential component of human development. Critical thinking aligns with higher-order cognitive processes in Bloom’s taxonomy, particularly analyzing, evaluating, and creating, which are central to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 on quality and inclusive education. This study aims to examine the effect of Model-Based Learning, operationalized through Problem-Based Learning (PBL), on students’ critical thinking skills in Islamic Studies at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework integrates constructivist learning theory, Bloom’s cognitive taxonomy, and the SDGs-oriented education paradigm, emphasizing learner-centered instruction and cognitive empowerment. Literature review: Prior studies highlight the effectiveness of PBL in promoting critical reasoning; however, empirical evidence within Islamic education contexts linked explicitly to SDGs remains limited. Methods: This research employed an experimental method using a pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 53 ninth-grade students, with 18 students assigned to the experimental group and 35 students to the control group. Data were collected through structured pre-tests and post-tests designed to measure critical thinking indicators within the cognitive domain of Bloom’s taxonomy. Results: The findings reveal a statistically significant effect of PBL on students’ critical thinking skills in Islamic Studies. The Mann–Whitney test yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001, indicating a significant improvement in the experimental group compared to the control group. These results demonstrate that Model-Based Learning contributes meaningfully to developing students’ higher-order thinking skills while supporting the goals of sustainable and quality education. Implications: The implications of this study suggest that integrating SDGs-oriented PBL into Islamic education can enhance cognitive competence, foster critical awareness, and prepare students for complex social challenges. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its empirical linkage between Model-Based Learning, Islamic Studies, and SDGs within a junior high school context, offering a replicable framework for sustainable educational practices.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to: (1) examine the effect of the PjBL model on improving critical reasoning skills at SDN Masaran 5; (2) analyze the impact of PjBL on enhancing students' learning achievement; and (3) assess the overall effectiveness of PjBL in improving critical thinking and learning outcomes in the context of Islamic Education (PAI) and Character Building (BP), aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education. Theoretical framework: In the era of 21st-century education, the development of students' 4C skills—Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity—is a fundamental necessity. Within this framework, Project-Based Learning (PjBL) emerges as a powerful pedagogical model that fosters student engagement, innovation, and critical reasoning through meaningful projects. Literature Review: Project-based learning fosters critical thinking and academic achievement, especially in Islamic education, by promoting active learning aligned with SDGs to support holistic, student-centred, and values-based education. Methods: Grounded in constructivist learning theory, this study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The research design consists of Classroom Action Research (CAR) and Pre-Experimental Research using the One Group Pre-Test and post-test Design. The sample includes 18 fourth-grade students, selected through total sampling. Data collection techniques include observation for the qualitative phase and pre-test/post-test instruments for the quantitative phase. Results: The results reveal that the PjBL model significantly improves students’ critical reasoning skills. Furthermore, it effectively enhances learning achievement in PAI and BP subjects. The integration of Islamic values within student-centred projects not only enriches content understanding but also aligns the educational process with the values of the SDGs, promoting holistic, inclusive, and transformative learning. Implications: This study has important implications for educators and policymakers, highlighting the need for innovative instructional models that blend faith-based education with global education goals. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its focus on implementing PjBL within Islamic Education, framed through the lens of sustainable development. It offers a replicable model for primary-level instruction that supports both cognitive and character development in line with SDG aspirations.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the content of Fiqh textbooks used in Muhammadiyah educational institutions, especially to assess the extent to which the material is in line with the ISMUBA curriculum and its relevance to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Theoretical framework: Based on Islamic education that is integrated with global development goals, especially the values of justice, social responsibility, and environmental conservation. Literature review: Reviewing the Islamic education curriculum of Muhammadiyah, the suitability of textbooks with the curriculum, and the relationship between religious education and global issues in the context of the SDGs. Methods: Using content analysis of Fiqh textbooks from the Dikdasmen Council and the Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School Development Institute, with a focus on the structure, content, and relationship with the SDGs. Results: The results of the study show that the Fiqh textbook published by the Muhammadiyah Higher Education Council is by the ISMUBA curriculum, while the version from the Islamic Boarding School Development Institute is still relevant, even though the structure is different. The material covers the pillars of Islam and supports the SDGs: fasting and prayer (Goal 3), zakat and social (Goals 1 & 10), and environmental ethics (Goal 13). Implications: Shows that Islamic education can contribute to the formation of a religious, social, and environmentally caring generation that is ready to face global challenges. Novelty: Offering a new perspective by connecting the Muhammadiyah Fiqh textbook with the SDGs, expanding the function of religious education towards sustainable development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi suara dan pandangan siswa terhadap penggunaan pembelajaran berbasis cerita sebagai alternatif strategi mengajar dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMK Tunas Harapan Plupuh Sragen. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari tantangan pembelajaran PAI yang masih didominasi metode ceramah, yang cenderung monoton dan kurang menyentuh aspek afektif siswa. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif eksploratif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi terhadap 12 siswa dan 1 guru PAI. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pendekatan berbasis cerita mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional, memperkuat pemahaman nilai-nilai Islam secara kontekstual, serta menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih hidup, reflektif, dan bermakna. Cerita dianggap lebih mudah dipahami dan diingat karena relevan dengan pengalaman personal siswa, serta mampu menghubungkan ajaran agama dengan realitas kehidupan sehari-hari mereka. Meskipun demikian, efektivitas metode ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh keterampilan guru dalam menyampaikan cerita, pemilihan materi yang kontekstual, serta suasana kelas yang mendukung partisipasi aktif. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya inovasi pedagogis yang berbasis pada student voice sebagai landasan pengembangan strategi pembelajaran PAI yang lebih partisipatif, humanistik, dan transformatif. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi guru dan institusi pendidikan Islam dalam merancang pembelajaran yang tidak hanya mentransmisikan nilai, tetapi juga memanusiakan proses belajar bagi generasi muda.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of education in supporting adolescents' transition to adulthood, focusing on its impact on psychosocial development, identity formation, and emotional regulation. The approach used is a systematic literature review (SLR) with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to ensure transparency and accuracy in data synthesis. A literature search was conducted on the Scopus database, which yielded 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria related to formal education and adolescent development. The results showed that education has a significant influence on shaping self-identity, improving emotional regulation, and preparing adolescents for mature decision-making, especially regarding careers and social responsibilities. In addition, education also improves psychological well-being, with interventions that combine social-emotional learning and experiences that enhance adolescents' emotional resilience. These findings also highlight the importance of the role of family and an inclusive educational environment in supporting adolescent development. Based on these findings, it is recommended that education policies place greater emphasis on psychosocial aspects rather than just academics, by creating an educational environment that supports the development of adolescents' identity, autonomy, and emotional well-being. Education that focuses on social-emotional development can accelerate adolescents' transition to healthier and more responsible adulthood.
