Abstract

Climate change is a definite, indisputable, clear, firm, and imminent reality, and has the potential to become a serious threat and challenge for the agriculture and fisheries sector. Climate change not only has an impact on the economy but also the health of farmers and fishermen. Farmers and fishermen must have health adaptation behavior to anticipate the adverse effects of climate change. This study aims to look at the individual's adaptive behavior and the factors that influence it. This study uses a cross sectional design on the heads of families of farmers and fishermen affected by climate change in the Province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. The number of samples as many as 150 samples were taken by probability proportional to size (PPS). Collecting data using primary data with interviews method. Data processed by computer and multivariate analysis with logistic regression testThe results of this study found the influence of husband's education, family income, self-efficacy, self-awareness, attitudes, perceptions, life skills, health care support, access to information about climate change together on health adaptation behavior. The most important determinants of health adaptation behavior are husband's education and self-awareness. There is a need for non-formal education in the form of socialization and training on adaptation of public health in the face of climate change. The government must integrate health and climate programs, climate socialization for health workers and provide compensation for people exposed to climate change.

Abstract

This research highlights the strategic role of sports in improving the quality of human resources, focusing on Wushu as a branch of achievement. There is a dominant attack technique, Tengkong Bailian, which requires strength, speed, and precision. Plyometric exercises, such as Split Squat Jump and Jump To Box, are recognized as methods to increase muscle power. Flexibility is also considered crucial in sports activities, and the technical development of Wushu athletes requires the integration of plyometric training with a focus on strength, speed, and flexibility. This study tried to reveal the difference in the influence between the two plyometric exercise methods on the ability of Tengkong Bailian, taking into account the degree of flexibility. Results showed that both methods were effective, with Split Squat Jump superior at high flex, and Jump To Box more effective at low flex. The implication is that the integration of both training methods can promote optimal results in coaching Wushu athletes, with emphasis on individual characteristics and degree of flexibility. These findings provide guidance for Wushu trainers to develop effective exercise programs

Abstract

Oil palm plantations are currently experiencing quite rapid growth; this has resulted in a large number of oil palm fruit processing industriespalm oil (crude palm oil) and palm kernel (palm kernel). The more oil palm fruit that is processed, the more liquid waste it produces. Liquid waste generated during the production process can harm the environment because of the high organic matter contained therein. The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of palm oil industrial wastewater at PT Citra Putra Kebun Asri. The method used in this study is an exploratory method and the collection and testing of data is done by graph sampling. The results of the analysis contained in the palm oil industrial wastewater, namely the pH content ranges from 4-8.5. The content of BOD and COD in the first pool had quite high levels, this was due to (human error) during testing, factory measuring instruments that had not been calibrated and inaccurate sampling by factory staff. While the BOD and COD in the application pond have values that are in accordance with the liquid waste quality standards with BOD values below 100 mh/L and COD values below 250 mg/L

Abstract

Medical solid waste management still faces obstacles several problems such as the lack of use of complete personal protective equipment (PPE) by officers and the absence of special routes for transporting waste. This study aims to evaluate medical solid waste management in hospitals. The method used was qualitative with a purposive sampling technique of 10 informants at the location concerned. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document review, then processed and analyzed using a triangulation table of sources and methods. Even though hospitals have SOPs that are socialized to staff, adequate human resources, funds, facilities and infrastructure, not all of them meet the requirements. The waste reduction process has not been implemented, TPHS B3 has been used as a rest area for officers, the sulo has not been closed because medical waste is buried in non-medical waste, and there is no waste transportation route available. The research results show that the management of medical and non-medical waste is not fully in accordance with applicable regulations. Therefore, it is recommended that hospitals reduce waste, monitor waste officers, and provide special routes for transporting waste in accordance with applicable regulations
