Abstract

This research aims to describe the integration of character values in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum at MI Miftahul Huda Bonangrejo, Demak, and the implementation process in learning activities. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with PAI teachers and the school principal, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings show that five main character values—religiosity, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and social care—have been systematically integrated into the PAI curriculum. The integration is implemented through thematic learning, teacher role modeling, routine habituation, and strengthening of school culture. These findings are in line with character education theories emphasizing planned and continuous character development. This study is limited to one madrasah and does not examine long-term impacts on students’ character formation. Nevertheless, the results provide practical contributions for improving the implementation of character education in PAI learning at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to parenting patterns, particularly in instilling Islamic religious education in Generation Z children living in a digital ecosystem. This qualitative descriptive study aims to explain how digital technology influences parental strategies in internalising Islamic values in children. The study was conducted at MA Sholihiyyah Kalitengah, with participants limited to parents who have Generation Z children enrolled at the institution, in order to obtain an in-depth contextual understanding. The results indicate that digital technology plays a role in enriching parenting methods through the provision of a variety of Islamic learning media, such as Quran applications, educational videos, and interactive Islamic teaching content. Furthermore, technology enables religious oversight through digital controls, such as parental controls and screen time management. Parents also adopt a collaborative approach by accompanying their children when accessing religious content to avoid misinformation. On the other hand, challenges arise in the form of exposure to negative content, digital distractions, and a decline in the intensity of direct spiritual communication. Thus, digital technology is an ambivalent factor: it can be an effective tool in Islamic education when used in a targeted and supervised manner, but it also has the potential to undermine religious values if not managed properly. These findings emphasise the need for religious digital literacy for parents to ensure that Islamic education strategies remain relevant and effective for Generation Z.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in integrating moral values and utilising digital media in ablution learning at SDIT Permata Bunda. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving Islamic Religious Education teachers and upper-grade students as research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that IRE teachers play a highly strategic role in shaping students’ moral character through ablution learning, implemented through role modelling, habituation, reflective dialogue, and positive reinforcement. The use of digital media, such as animated videos, 3D simulations, and infographics, was found to enhance students’ technical understanding of ablution while strengthening the internalisation of moral values by presenting moral messages in an engaging and contextual manner. Digital media also encourages active student participation and aligns with the characteristics of the digital generation. Despite challenges related to limited digital devices and teachers’ digital literacy, adaptive strategies implemented by teachers ensured that the objectives of moral education were achieved. This study is limited to a single educational institution within a specific geographical context, and therefore the findings cannot be generalised broadly. Overall, ablution learning that integrates teacher role modelling and digital media utilisation plays a significant role in fostering students’ Islamic character holistically.

Abstract

pThe rapid development of social media, particularly TikTok, has had a significant impact on childrens character, including emotional, moral, and social aspects. This article discusses the negative impacts of TikTok use on childrens character development and highlights the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in addressing these influences. A literature review found that excessive TikTok use can trigger emotional instability, decreased focus on learning, addictive behaviour, imitation of immoral content, and decreased self-confidence due to unrealistic social standards. In addressing this phenomenon, Islamic Religious Education teachers have a crucial role as character mentors, digital literacy facilitators, role models of Islamic values, and collaborative partners for parents and the school community. Possible measures include integrating character education into Islamic Religious Education learning, developing digital ethics, assisting students in selecting content, and strengthening religious activities as a form of internalising Islamic values. This article emphasises that character development in the digital era requires a holistic approach that combines moral education, digital literacy, and collaboration between schools and families to enable students to use social media wisely and ethically./p This article is also available at gb777

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) teachers in shaping students’ religious character through Aqidah Akhlak instruction at MI Sultan Fatah Demak, Central Java, Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved 12 participants, including PAI teachers, the madrasah principal, and students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and analysed thematically. The findings show that PAI teachers play a strategic role as educators, spiritual guides, and moral role models in fostering students’ religious discipline, moral awareness, social ethics, religious understanding, and self-control in responding to negative influences, including digital media. The internalisation of Islamic values is strengthened through the integration of cognitive, affective, and behavioural aspects in learning, supported by religious habituation practices and collaboration between the madrasah and families. However, this study is limited to a single madrasah in a specific geographic context, which may restrict the generalisability of the findings.

Abstract

Teachers and school employees are the main assets in carrying out the teaching and learning process and administrative services in the school environment. Therefore, the management of personnel administration, which includes workforce needs planning, recruitment, placement, coaching, performance appraisal, promotion, and dismissal, must be carried out systematically and continuously. Abstract

This paper aims to address the administration of teaching and learning activities, also commonly referred to as curriculum administration. This administrative field is actually the center of all activities in schools. Some parties disagree with the term curriculum administration. Abroad, it is called "administration of the instructional program." Indeed, curriculum administration is somewhat inaccurate, if the curriculum is interpreted in the narrow sense as "learning material" or "subject matter" that must be delivered to students. The curriculum is one of the most important aspects in determining the success of education. The curriculum is a system of learning programs to achieve institutional goals in educational institutions, so the curriculum plays a crucial role in realizing quality and high-quality schools. In order to realize good quality and high-quality education, the government continues to make changes and overhauls to the curriculum.
