Abstract

Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is a condition in which inhabitants develop health problems or discomfort as a result of extended exposure to indoor surroundings. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between air temperature and humidity in air-conditioned rooms and the prevalence of SBS, specifically mental weariness (burnout) instances, among employees of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Banjarbaru City, Indonesia. The study followed a quantitative design with an analytical cross-sectional survey approach. Data were gathered using questionnaires and devices that measured air temperature and humidity. Univariate analysis defined the variable features, whereas bivariate analysis looked at the correlations between air temperature and humidity (independent variables) and the prevalence of SBS mental fatigue cases (dependent variable). The survey included 30 bank employees, with an average age of 32.4 years. The average air temperature was 25.8°C, with a relative humidity of 84.2%, which was outside of the permissible limit. The prevalence of SBS was 43.3%, with common symptoms including nose discomfort, eye irritation, headache, and fatigue. The prevalence of mental weariness was 36.7%. Pearson correlation analyses found significant positive relationships between air temperature and SBS prevalence (r = 0.48, p < 0.01), relative humidity and SBS prevalence (r = 0.39, p < 0.05), air temperature and mental fatigue (r = 0.41, p < 0.05), and relative humidity and mental fatigue. The findings emphasize the need of maintaining adequate indoor environmental conditions to reduce SBS risk and increase employee well-being in air-conditioned workplaces.

Abstract

This research examines the function of Panjang Port, Lampung as a port for exporting pepper commodities in the period 1923-1930. The purpose of the study is to analyze Panjang Port as a central point in the pepper distribution route from the interior of Lampung to the international market. This study uses a historical method by collecting colonial archive sources. This study explores the relationship between colonial government policies in the development of Panjang Port and the dynamics of the pepper trade. The results of the analysis show that Panjang Port not only functions as a location for pepper shipments, but also as part of the colonial economic system that benefits the colonial party. This finding emphasizes the important function of Panjang Port in the progress of the economy and trade, especially in the Lampung region, as well as economic development in the southern Sumatra region.

Abstract

Good Corporate Governance (GCG) has become increasingly important in the financial performance of companies because sound governance functions as an internal and external control mechanism that ensures companies operate in a healthy, transparent manner, and are oriented towards the interests of all stakeholders. This research aims to examine journal papers that discuss how Good Corporate Governance will influence the financial performance of banking institutions. This study employs the systematic literature review (SLR) method with samples consisting of secondary data from various journal publications that have been collected through the Google Scholar database. The journals used as data in this research are publications released from 2021-2025 that investigate the influence of GCG on banking financial performance. The results of the research employing systematic literature review demonstrate that GCG's impact on financial performance is dependent on several aspects, namely the method of drawing conclusions (partial and simultaneous), the proxy variables employed, the control variables utilized, and the differences in the time periods used by researchers.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic development of marine tourism events through an integrated analytical and planning framework at Minang Rua Beach, Kelawi Tourism Village, South Lampung. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, the research synthesises field observations and semi-structured interviews, along with SWOT and GAP analyses, to evaluate destination readiness and identify critical determinants shaping event feasibility. The findings reveal that Minang Rua Beach benefits from strong accessibility, diverse natural and cultural assets, active community support, and the presence of indigenous knowledge systems. Nevertheless, several structural constraints persist, including limited engagement from governmental and private-sector stakeholders, suboptimal management of tourism attractions, and inadequate development of cultural arts and MSME branding. The GAP assessment indicates an overall readiness level of 87.5%, reflecting a generally favourable baseline with a measurable scope for improvement. Drawing on Goldblatt’s five-phase event planning model—research, design, planning, coordination, and evaluation—the study proposes a contextually grounded event development framework that emphasises enhancing destination quality, cultural revitalisation, human capital empowerment, and MSME advancement. Conceptually, this research contributes to the growing body of literature on event-based coastal tourism by demonstrating how strategic analytical tools can be operationalised within community-based governance structures to strengthen sustainable marine tourism development.
