Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality control of 0.3 cm cut nata de coco products at CV XYZ using the Six sigma method. Based on the results of the study, it is known that in the production process of 0.3 cm cut nata de coco, there are 2 types of defective products, namely shaved nata and frog nata. This sample data was taken in the production on internal machine 2. To overcome this problem, the appropriate method is the Six sigma method. The stages of Six sigma include Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC). The results of this study indicate several main factors causing defective products in 0.3 cm cut nata de coco are lack of training and high workload, not carrying out regular machine maintenance, no written SOP, no quality standards, no thickness measuring tools available, and an uncomfortable environment. This study successfully provided suggestions for improvements to reduce the level of defective products, namely morning briefing, making written SOP, emphasizing good quality standards, providing measuring instruments, and providing Earplugs to employees who operate noisy machines. Recommendation for improvements are expected to improve the quality of 0.3 cut nata de coco production at CV XYZ.

Abstract

Abstract

Utilization of Palm Biomass Waste as Aggregate and Cement Substitute in Pervious Concrete. This study aims to evaluate the utilization of palm shell waste and palm shell ash as innovative materials in the production of environmentally friendly pervious concrete. The concrete mixtures were varied by replacing coarse aggregate with palm shell at 0%, 25%, and 50%, and partially replacing cement with palm shell ash at 10%. Tests were conducted to assess compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, density, total voids, permeability, and the ability to support grass growth. The results indicate that all pervious concrete variations did not meet the minimum compressive strength standard based on SNI 03-0691-1990. The addition of palm shell increased permeability and total void content, but decreased compressive strength, tensile strength, and density. Grass growth was more favorable in mixtures containing palm shell, indicating a positive ecological potential. Overall, the use of palm shell and palm shell ash shows potential for non-structural applications of pervious concrete where drainage performance and environmental sustainability are prioritized. However, it is not recommended for structural use due to the low mechanical strength obtained.

Abstract

Abstract The food and beverage industry is a strategic sector that plays an important role in the national economy and attracts considerable attention from investors in the capital market. Firm value reflects market perceptions of a company’s performance and prospects, which are influenced by capital structure, managerial ownership, and financial performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of capital structure and managerial ownership on firm value, the effect of financial performance on firm value, as well as the role of financial performance as an intervening variable in food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from 13 companies with a total of 65 observations, analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results show that capital structure has a positive and significant effect on firm value, managerial ownership has a positive and significant effect on firm value, and financial performance has a positive and significant effect on firm value. In addition, capital structure and managerial ownership are found to have a negative and significant effect on financial performance. Furthermore, financial performance is able to mediate the effect of capital structure on firm value as well as the effect of managerial ownership on firm value. These findings indicate that financing decisions and managerial ownership mechanisms not only have a direct impact on firm value but also operate through financial performance as a channel of influence. Therefore, optimal capital structure management and enhanced effectiveness of managerial ownership are important factors in improving firm value in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Lip balm is a preparation applied to the lips to prevent dryness and chapping. Choosing the right lip balm base will significantly impact its quality and public acceptability. Beeswax has good binding properties, which help to produce a homogeneous mass. In this study, the active ingredient used was pineapple peel because it contains bromelain, which moisturizes the lips. The objectives of this study were to determine the appropriate formulation for lip balm preparations with pineapple peel extract (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) as the active ingredient and to determine the effect of varying beeswax base concentrations on the physical stability of lip balm preparations. The method used in this study was an experimental method to see which formulation was suitable. The study obtained a good formula with physical characteristics in accordance with SNI 16-4769-1998, including stability observation, pH measurement, homogeneity testing, irritation testing, moisture testing, and cycling test. The appropriate formula was found in formula 1 with a beeswax concentration of 1%, which produced a good color texture, aroma, adhesive power, and spreadability, a pH level suitable for the lips, no irritation, homogeneity, and stability during storage, resulting in a semi-solid and very smooth lip balm texture when used

Abstract

Global educational developments have encouraged the adoption of deep learning, which emphasizes deep understanding, critical thinking, and meaningful learning experiences. In the context of Islamic primary education, the implementation of deep learning presents unique characteristics as it must be integrated with Islamic values. This study aims to explore teachers’ understanding, opportunities, challenges, and strategies in implementing a deep learning-based curriculum at MI Riyadlus Sholihin. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The participants consisted of classroom teachers, subject teachers, and the principal, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that teachers’ understanding of deep learning varies considerably. Opportunities for implementation are supported by the alignment with madrasah values, close teacher–student relationships, and a collaborative school culture. However, teachers face challenges related to limited pedagogical understanding, time constraints, and administrative workload. Teachers adopt adaptive strategies by contextualizing learning with students’ daily lives and Islamic values, supported by the instructional leadership of the principal.
