Abstract

Modern education today faces a crisis of values due to the dominance of secular and materialistic paradigms, which neglect the spiritual dimension of learners. In this context, the thoughts of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi offer a valuable conceptual alternative through a spiritual education framework that integrates religious sciences with modern knowledge. This study aims to explore in depth the concept of spiritual education in Said Nursi’s thought and its relevance to the development of contemporary Islamic educational curricula. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, critically analyzing Nursi’s primary works—particularly the Risale-i Nur—as well as relevant secondary academic literature. The results of the study indicate that spiritual education according to Nursi is a process of shaping faith, character, and divine consciousness involving the intellect, heart, and soul. He proposes a holistic model of education that integrates medrese (religious schools), mektep (modern secular schools), and tekke (Sufi institutions), emphasizing key spiritual values such as acz (powerlessness), faqr (poverty), shafqat (compassion), and tafakkur (contemplation). This concept contributes significantly to the development of an Islamic curriculum that balances spiritual and intellectual aspects. The findings affirm that Said Nursi's thought is highly relevant to addressing contemporary educational challenges and can serve as a foundation for reconstructing a tawhid-based Islamic education curriculum grounded in spiritual values.

Abstract

The research aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the obligation to provide dowry in marriage at the time of the marriage contract from a juridical, sociological, and philosophical perspective. This research is normative legal research (Doctrinal Research) with an interdisciplinary approach. The results of the research state that legally dowry is not a pillar of marriage, therefore negligence in its implementation does not cause the marriage to be annulled and valid, however, the dowry must still be given by the prospective husband to the prospective wife either in full or in part in cash or postpone it. Sociologically, because the law is always dynamic, the application of dowry is adjusted to local community habits. The essence is that dowry does not burden men and also does not degrade women. Philosophically, giving a dowry is not just at a transactional and materialistic level, but a dowry is essentially a form of seriousness and love as well as the groom's appreciation for the bride he will marry. Therefore, women must accept the dowry happily as a respect for their dignity and not interpreted as a buying and selling transaction against themselves.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between differentiated instruction and students’ academic achievement in Islamic education within the framework of the independent curriculum. Differentiated instruction including content, process, and product differentiation is designed to accommodate student diversity in terms of readiness, interest, and learning profile. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach involving 120 eleventh-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Tarbiyatut Tholabah, Lamongan. The research instruments included a differentiated instruction questionnaire based on Tomlinson’s framework and students’ end-of-semester Islamic education scores. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between differentiated instruction and academic achievement (r = 0.612, p < 0.001). Content differentiation was the strongest predictor of academic performance (β = 0.412), followed by process (β = 0.298) and product differentiation (β = 0.186). The regression model explained 42.3% of the variance in student achievement. These findings highlight the importance of integrating differentiated instruction into Islamic education and emphasize the need for strengthening teachers’ capacity to implement adaptive and inclusive teaching strategies.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that occurs due to various causes, characterized by blood glucose concentrations exceeding normal, and impaired carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism caused by abnormalities in insulin hormone secretion or insulin action abnormalities. Efforts to reduce or detect the distribution of cases of diabetes mellitus require early screening. The screening is done by checking the respondent's blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid. Based on the results of the health examination, which included blood sugar, it showed that from 36 respondents, 6 (16.66%) women had high blood sugar; this should be suspected due to age, consumption patterns, and lack of physical activity. Cholesterol examination results showed that 5 (13.88%) men and 4 (11.11%) women had abnormal blood cholesterol levels; this should be suspected to be influenced by the consumption pattern of foods containing high cholesterol. The results of the uric acid examination showed that 3 (8.33%) men and 4 (11.11%) women had abnormal uric acid levels; this is thought to be due to the habit of people who like to consume see food foods that have high purine content. This community service is essential to increase public awareness to check themselves periodically for their health.
