Abstract

Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) evaluates education systems in participating countries. Junior high school students are tested in math, science, and reading for the PISA Scientific Literacy test. This study contrasts the PISA Science Framework 2018 and 2025. This literature research uses systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis. The method finds, reviews, evaluates, and interprets all research related to scientific literacy, PISA Framework 2018 and 2025, and its impact on Physics Education. The research used the Scopus database to find PISA Science Framework-related scientific articles. Results showed that PISA Framework 2025 evolves science literacy and scientific information function. The language is simplified to be more coherent by emphasizing the main idea of science. Procedural and epistemic knowledge are expanded and clarified. The finding is also supported by VOSviewer visualization of data results. This framework implies that physics education will assess students' understanding of fundamental physics principles and their rationality in applying them, including decision-making. In conclusion, the PISA Science Framework 2018 needs to be updated to the PISA Framework 2025 by the OECD to accommodate the students' needs in this era.

Abstract

Indonesia has an enormous amount of diversity, and unconsciously every culture has a different attraction. In its own culture, there is a science of physics that few people know much about, but local wisdom from several different areas can be used as a source of study in physics, one of which is traditional kekehan games. The study aims to understand the concept of physics in the traditional games of kekehan. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive methods. The approach used in this study is the ethnographic approach. The data collection method used is observation, documentation, and literature study. Observation and documentation are done in the physics education program at surabaya state university. From observation, documenting and literature studies, it can be concluded that mass influences the acceleration of the hostility Angle, where it inverse to angular acceleration. The second experiment showed that the fingers affect the rotation time. And it can also be discovered that the square of the finger is comparable to the kinetic energy rotation. The concept of physics of inertia includes moments of inertia, angles, heavy forces, circular motion, torque, and style moments.

Abstract

The low problem-solving skills and self-efficacy of students in physics learning significantly impact their overall learning processes and outcomes. In order to address this issue, an inquiry learning model was implemented, along with the low-cost experiment tool. This learning model is designed to be valid and effective in enhancing students' problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. The research followed a non-equivalent control group design and involved 66 students to ensure the development of a high-quality learning model that meets the required standards and criteria. By utilising learning instruments, such as students' response questionnaires, problem-solving pre- and post-tests, and self-efficacy questionnaires, the focus of the physics topic in this research was the simple mathematic pendulum. The validity test results show that the learning instrument has high validity and reliability criteria, making it feasible to use in physics learning. Furthermore, the statistical effectiveness test results show that this learning model is effective in improving students' problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. As students engage in hands-on investigations and collaborate on meaningful projects, they are prompted to apply critical thinking and decision-making skills, directly contributing to the development of effective problem-solving strategies. The intrinsic motivation derived from successfully navigating the challenges of inquiry learning, coupled with the personal relevance of the content, nurtures students' confidence in their abilities, ultimately strengthening their self-efficacy as independent and capable learners. Research implies the development of innovative learning models, effectively enhancing students' PSS and SE.

Abstract

Students need to know how much they have learned about scientific principles when studying science. The ability to solve problems, base decisions on science, and use acquired knowledge in everyday life is known as scientific literacy. The aim of this research is to conduct a scientific analysis of scientific literacy skills related to the solar system among students at the Brambang State Elementary School. Seventeen students became the research sample. The data analysis used is quantitative descriptive. Based on observations, research results showed that the scientific literacy skills of Brambang State Elementary School students were very poor, many students had very low scientific literacy skills in learning about the solar system. The results of the student questionnaire also showed that 77% of students still did not understand basic knowledge and concepts of the solar system. The findings of this research can be used as empirical evidence that there is still room for increasing students' scientific literacy at the Brambang State Elementary School in terms of learning about the solar system. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate students' science literacy profile and implement earth structure and disaster mitigation materials to improve junior high school students' science literacy. This research uses a type of introductory research that applies analysis techniques in the form of descriptive research design (DPD). The research instruments used include science literacy tests, student learning experience questionnaires, and teacher performance observations in delivering the material. This indicates that the science literacy skills of junior high school students can be further improved by using appropriate learning. Based on the results of the research obtained, the science literacy indicator ‘Designing Scientific Investigations’ received the highest score with an average of 3.275, while ‘Critically Evaluating Scientific Information’ received the lowest score of 3.206. Based on the results of the research data that has been obtained, it is concluded that students' science literacy skills still need to be improved. However, female students tend to have better science literacy skills than male students, which indicates a challenge in achieving science literacy skills at an adequate level. The indicator with the lowest level of science literacy was critically evaluate scientific information. Therefore, the study recommends the development of contextualized inquiry-based learning media and technology integration to support more effective learning, as well as training for teachers to facilitate learning that trains students' critical thinking skills.
