Abstract

This study aims to reveal the wage practices of palm oil plantation laborers in Kalaena Village, Wotu District, East Luwu Regency, from an Islamic perspective. Using a qualitative method, this research involves in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with laborers, plantation owners, and managers. The results show that the wage system in this area is generally conducted verbally based on mutual agreement and local customs (‘urf), yet fundamental problems persist, such as delayed wage payments, lack of transparency in harvest calculations, and wage imbalances that do not fully consider the level of work difficulty. From an Islamic perspective, wage payment is not merely an economic transaction but constitutes a moral trust that demands the application of the principles of justice (adl), honesty (shidq), appropriateness, and benevolence (ihsan). The findings affirm that the implementation of sharia principles in the wage system remains partial and needs to be improved through written agreements, transparency in wage management, and oversight by relevant institutions. By strengthening Islamic values in wage practices, it is expected that industrial harmony, improved labor welfare, and a wage system that is fair, humane, and aligned with maqashid sharia can be achieved. The recommendations of this study include the need to socialize Islamic business ethics and reform the wage system to be more adaptive to the needs of laborers and local challenges.

Abstract

The neon tetra (Paracheirodon innesi), a popular South American ornamental fish, has become a key species in Indonesian aquaculture, with production centered in Bojongsari, Depok. However, the industry faces declining genetic quality due to inbreeding. Therefore, implementing a selective breeding program is considered an effective approach to improve genetic quality. This study aimed to estimate the heritability and selection response of the body length trait in the base population of neon tetra fish. Selection was conducted on the entire population using a within-family selection method, specifically employing broodstock from the Curug and Bojongsari populations. A reciprocal breeding design was established using four mating combinations, each comprising 25 pairs of 4- to 5-month-old broodstock (3.28±0.15 cm total length; 0.43±0.06 g body weight) mated at a 1:1 sex ratio. The offspring were reared separately and grown out in an aquarium for 120 days. The results showed that the estimated heritability was 0.42, with a response to selection of 0.13 cm (4.9%). Our finding of moderate heritability implies that this trait can be effectively enhanced through a systematic breeding program. These figures suggest that the selection process for the next generation of neon tetra fish remains viable.

Abstract

Background: The decline in children’s physical activity in Papua poses a serious concern, particularly due to its negative impact on health and motor skill development. Limited multi-skill proficiency among young children contributes to reduced engagement in physical activities. Despite global efforts to promote physical literacy, few interventions have focused on culturally relevant and age-appropriate activities to improve multi-skills in early childhood, especially in underserved regions like Papua. Research Objectives: This study aimed to improve the multi-skill development of 6-7-year-old elementary school students through the implementation of the Kids’ Athletics Level 1 program, incorporating locally adapted games such as “Crocodile River,” “Socorro,” and “Meo Duoi Chuot.” Methods: A quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach was employed. A total of 50 students aged 6-7 years were selected via purposive sampling. The Indonesian Physical Fitness Test was used to assess outcomes, including sit-and-reach, one-leg standing balance, tennis ball catch-and-throw, shuttle run, and an 800-meter run. Paired-sample t-tests were conducted to evaluate differences between pretest and posttest scores. Findings/Results: The analysis revealed a statistically significant improvement in students’ multi-skill performance (p < 0.05). The findings support the integration of the Kids' Athletics program into school curricula as an effective strategy to enhance motor competence in early childhood. Conclusion: The Kids’ Athletics Level 1 model, enriched with culturally adapted games, proves effective in developing fundamental multi-skills in young children. Physical Education teachers are encouraged to adopt this model alongside other programs to optimize physical development in early learners, particularly those in low-activity regions such as Papua.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the meaning of spiritual accountability in the management of Al-Qur'an donations within the Jariah Charity Project Community in Enrekang Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore the experiences, understandings, and meanings constructed by administrators, volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries in donation management practices. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, coding, theme grouping, phenomenological interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the management of Al-Qur'an donations is carried out through several stages, namely receiving donations, simple recording, procuring Al-Qur'an copies, distributing them to beneficiaries, and reporting to donors through documentation and direct communication. Spiritual accountability in this community is shaped by the values of trustworthiness, sincerity, transparency, hereafter accountability, and public benefit. Accounting practices in this context do not merely function as administrative recording tools, but also serve as a means of maintaining trust, fulfilling entrusted responsibilities, and being accountable to both human beings and Allah SWT. This study concludes that spiritual accountability in the management of Al-Qur'an donations represents a combination of social and spiritual responsibility, forming a simple yet meaningful accounting practice within a socio-religious community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap fasilitas trek atletik di Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan Universitas Negeri Padang yang berjumlah 3.945 mahasiswa, sedangkan sampel sebanyak 100 mahasiswa ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert yang mengukur persepsi mahasiswa terhadap kondisi fisik trek, kenyamanan, keamanan, kebersihan, aksesibilitas, pelayanan, dan pemeliharaan fasilitas. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa nilai rata-rata, frekuensi, dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap fasilitas trek atletik secara umum berada pada kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata 126,96. Sebanyak 35% responden berada pada kategori cukup, 29% kategori baik, 7% kategori baik sekali, 26% kategori kurang, dan 3% kategori kurang sekali. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa fasilitas trek atletik telah mampu mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran dan latihan mahasiswa, meskipun masih diperlukan peningkatan pada beberapa aspek, terutama pemeliharaan dan penyediaan fasilitas pendukung. Oleh karena itu, evaluasi dan perbaikan fasilitas secara berkelanjutan perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan serta kepuasan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan fasilitas trek atletik di Universitas Negeri Padang.

Abstract

Growth hormone (GH) that plays an important role in growth, reproduction, seawater adaptation, and immune function was isolated and sequenced from humpback grouper, Cromileptes altivelis. The cDNA was isolated from pituitary using RT-PCR. The 618 bp open reading frame encodes a 205 amino acid (aa) protein, which represents an 18 aa signal peptide followed by a 187 aa mature GH polypeptide. The fragment contained conserved domain of somatotropin–1, somatotropin–2, casein kinase II phosphorylation, protein kinase C phosphorylation, N–myristoylation and N–glycosilation. The similarity of deduced protein of humpback grouper GH was 65.0 - 89.5% with other fishes

Abstract

Humpback grouper is one of the most cultured fishes in Asia, including Indonesia. Themain problemfaced by humpback culture is its slow growth rate.One of themethods that willbe more effective and efficient to solve the problem is using transgenic technique. This studywas conducted to determine the effectiveness of transfection,microinjection and electroporationtechniques on gene transfer in humpback grouper. transfection was performed byincubating sperm to the foreign DNA (pktBP-ktGH gene construct)-transfectant complexsolution, while was by injecting those complex solution into testis of mature males.Microinjection was conducted in 2-4 cell stage embryos using 25 μg/ml of foreign DNAsolution, and duration of injection was 1, 2 and 3 seconds. Electroporation by 50 V, 30 ms ofpulse length, 5 of pulse number and 0.1 of pulse interval was performed to sperm using threeDNA concentration of 5, 10 and 20 μg/ml. The incorporation of foreign DNA in sperm andembryos were analyzed using PCR method. Based on PCR analysis, an optimum DNAconcentration for electroporation was 10 μg/ml. Limited number of embryos could bemicroinjected during 20-30 min to reach 2-4 cell stage. Microinjection for 1 second showedhigher survival rate of embryos, although none or very low number of larvae was hatched.Transfast was an effective DNA delivery reagent for humpback grouper sperm. Foreign DNAcould be detected in sperm from two out of ten transfected fish at least 36 hours posttransfection (hpt). By transfection, foreign DNA was detected in sperm at 48 hpt 25 Cincubation temperature. Our study revealed that transfection, microinjection as well aselectroporation could be used as transgenesis methods in humpback grouper. Abstract

This study was motivated by the existence of several problems related to the supporting facilities for trekking activities on the Mount Talang hiking trail via Aia Batumbuk, including limited sanitation facilities, inadequate trail signage, and suboptimal facility maintenance. These conditions may affect the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of hikers during trekking activities. This study aimed to evaluate the supporting facilities for trekking activities in terms of availability, feasibility, accessibility, and maintenance. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach. The population consisted of all hikers who used the Mount Talang hiking trail via Aia Batumbuk, while the sample comprised 90 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics through percentage and mean calculations. The results showed that the overall evaluation of supporting facilities for trekking activities on the Mount Talang hiking trail via Aia Batumbuk achieved an average score of 61.58%, which falls into the good category. Specifically, the availability aspect scored 62.66%, feasibility 62.67%, accessibility 60.28%, and maintenance 59.65%. These findings indicate that the existing facilities are generally capable of supporting trekking activities adequately. However, improvements are still needed, particularly in maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation, and the provision of more accessible facilities to enhance service quality, safety, and visitor comfort in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The role of the principal in developing the capacity of educational staff is a crucial factor in improving the quality of administrative services in educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the role of the principal in developing the capacity of educational staff and identify factors that influence these efforts in improving the quality of school administrative services. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with principals and educational staff as subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and methods. The results show that the principal plays a strategic role as a leader, manager, and motivator through competency development program planning, administrative training, technology utilization workshops, routine coaching, and periodic performance supervision and evaluation. The main findings indicate that the development of educational staff capacity depends not only on technical training, but also on leadership that encourages continuous coaching, performance monitoring, and the use of technology in administrative services. This study confirms that strengthening the capacity of educational staff through systematic and sustainable principal leadership contributes to improving the effectiveness and quality of school administrative services
