Abstract

Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is an effective Deep Learning (DL) algorithm that solves various image identification problems. The use of CNN for time-series data analysis is emerging. CNN learns filters, representations of repeated patterns in the series, and uses them to forecast future values. The network performance may depend on hyperparameter settings. This study optimizes the CNN architecture based on hyperparameter tuning using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), PSO-CNN. The proposed method was evaluated using multivariate time-series data of electronic journal visitor datasets. The CNN equation in image and time-series problems is the input given to the model for processing numbers. The proposed method generated the lowest RMSE (1.386) with 178 neurons in the fully connected and 2 hidden layers. The experimental results show that the PSO-CNN generates an architecture with better performance than ordinary CNN.

Abstract

Technological, social, and environmental changes are occurring globally. The disruption of technology will impact all sectors of human life. Sociocultural changes occur in the demographics and socioeconomics of the world population. During this chaotic condition, the Indonesian nation, with a large population and natural resources, must inevitably adapt to the global environment. Statistics Center Agency and World Bank data show that Indonesian student enrollment rates are rising, but preschool and tertiary gaps remain. Despite rising student enrollment, Indonesian education remains in crisis. One of the backbones of the nation's civilization to face global competition is good and mature planning in the education sector that adapts to global demands. This paper reviews the future of Indonesian education based on the mapping between Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s education model, the Indonesian education roadmap 2020-2015, the disrupted education model in 2020, The WEF Education 4.0 Framework, and the Future of the classroom model. This paper results in a future Indonesian education model framework to realize Indonesia's education vision for 2035.

Abstract

One of the essential factors in a learning process, especially in higher education, is lecturer performance. This study aims to discover the impact of a lecturer's performance on students learning outcomes in the online learning environment. Lecturer performance is represented by four aspects which are the lecturer's performance on learning technology (X1), the lecturer's performance on learning pedagogy (X2), the lecturer's performance on supporting learners (X3), and the lecturer's performance on supporting educators (X4). This quantitative research approach aims to discover one variable's cause-and-effect relationship to another. The subject of this study is 37 lecturers and 146 students. The result shows that the lecturer's performance contributes 43.1% to students' learning outcomes. It is known that learning technology and pedagogy aspects have a significant effect on students' learning outcomes. However, supporting learners and educators does not significantly impact students' learning outcomes. Therefore, the lecturer's performance positively impacts learning outcomes and is valuable for further online learning development. A potential research contribution could be to investigate further the relationship between specific aspects of a lecturer's performance and students' learning outcomes in an online learning environment. this study's findings have significant implications for higher education institutions seeking to improve online learning experiences for students. By identifying the specific aspects of lecturer performance that most impact learning outcomes, institutions can provide targeted support and training to their lecturers, ultimately leading to improved learning outcomes for students in online learning environments.

Abstract

The ensemble method is considered an advanced method in both prediction and classification. The application of this method is estimated to have a more optimal output than the previous classification method. This article aims to determine the ensemble's performance to classify journal quartiles. The subject of agriculture was chosen because Indonesia is an agricultural country, and the interest of researchers in this field shows a positive response. The data is downloaded through the Scimago Journal and Country Rank with the accumulation in 2020. Labels have four classes: Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4. The ensemble applied is Boosting and Bagging with Decision Tree (DT) and Gaussian Naïve Bayes (GNB) algorithms compiled from 2144 instances. The Boosting meta-ensembles used are Adaboost and XGBoost. From this study, the Bagging Decision Tree has the highest accuracy score at 71.36, followed by XGBoost Decision Tree with 69.51. The third is XGBoost Gaussian Naïve Bayes with 68.82, Adaboost Decision Tree with 60.42, Adaboost Gaussian Naïve Bayes with 58.2, and Bagging Gaussian Naïve Bayes with 56.12 results. This paper shows that the Bagging Decision Tree is the ensemble method that works optimally in this subject classification. This result suggests that the ensemble method can still fail to produce an ideal outcome that approaches the SJR system.

Abstract

In scientific research, journals are among the primary sources of information. There are quartiles or categories of quality in journals which are Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4. These quartiles represent the assessment of journal. A classification machine learning algorithm is developed as a means in the categorization of journals. The process of classifying data to estimate an item class with an unknown label is called classification. Various classification algorithms, such as K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Naïve Bayes, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are employed in this study, with several situations for exchanging training and testing data. Cross-validation with Confusion Matrix values of accuracy, precision, recall, and error classification is used to analyzed classification performance. The classifier with the finest accuracy rate is KNN with average accuracy of 70%, Naïve Bayes at 60% and SVM at 40%. This research suggests assumption that algorithms used in this article can approach SJR classification system.

Abstract

In recent years, data processing has become an issue across all disciplines. Good data processing can provide decision-making recommendations. Data processing is covered in academic data processing publications, including those in computer science. This topic has grown over the past three years, demonstrating that data processing is expanding and diversifying, and there is a great deal of interest in this area of study. Within the journal, groupings (quartiles) indicate the journal's influence on other similar studies. SCImago provides this category. There are four quartiles, with the highest quartile being 1 and the lowest being 4. There are, however, numerous differences in class quartiles, with different quartile values for the same journal in different disciplines. Therefore, a method of categorization is provided to solve this issue. Classification is a machine-learning technique that groups data based on the supplied label class. Ensemble Boosting and Bagging with Decision Tree (DT) and Gaussian Nave Bayes (GNB) were utilized in this study. Several modifications were made to the ensemble algorithm's depth and estimator settings to examine the influence of adding values on the resultant precision. In the DT algorithm, both variables are altered, whereas, in the GNB algorithm, just the estimator's value is modified. Based on the average value of the accuracy results, it is known that the best algorithm for computer science datasets is GNB Bagging, with values of 68.96%, 70.99%, and 69.05%. Second-place XGBDT has 67.75% accuracy, 67.69% precision, and 67.83 recall. The DT Bagging method placed third with 67.31 percent recall, 68.13 percent precision, and 67.30 percent accuracy. The fourth sequence is the XGBoost GNB approach, which has an accuracy of 67.07%, a precision of 68.85%, and a recall of 67.18%. The Adaboost DT technique ranks in the fifth position with an accuracy of 63.65%, a precision of 64.21 %, and a recall of 63.63 %. Adaboost GNB is the least efficient algorithm for this dataset since it only achieves 43.19 % accuracy, 48.14 % precision, and 43.2% recall. The results are still quite far from the ideal. Hence the proposed method for journal quartile inequality issues is not advised.

Abstract

Scientific ethics is widely used in the field of information technology to solve problems. This arises because there is no firmness in the ethical laws of the use of information technology. This article aims to explore the current application of scientific ethics in scientific writing. The method used is library research method. The results of the study show that researchers have used the application of scientific ethics in the field of information technology to find trends in the types of scientific publications. The most popular scientific ethics in the field of information technology is computer ethics. Computer ethics is the analysis of the nature and societal impact of computer technology, and the development and justification of relevant policies regarding the ethical use of information technology. Computer ethics has great potential to be developed because of the problems of: (a) privacy, (b) accuracy, (c) property, and (d) access which are very complex. For further research, researchers can have a broader perspective on the application of computer ethics in the field of information technology. Computer scientists can use this research to find applications of scholarly writing that deepen ethical issues in computer science, whether in conferences, journals, or book publications. Etika keilmuan banyak digunakan dalam bidang teknologi informasi untuk memecahkan masalah. Hal ini muncul karena belum adanya ketegasan dalam hukum etik penggunaan teknologi informasi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan etika ilmiah terkini dalam penulisan ilmiah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peneliti telah menggunakan penerapan etika ilmiah di bidang teknologi informasi untuk menemukan tren jenis publikasi karya ilmiah. Etika ilmiah yang paling populer di bidang teknologi informasi adalah etika komputer. Etika komputer adalah analisis sifat dan dampak sosial dari teknologi komputer, serta pengembangan dan pembenaran kebijakan yang relevan mengenai penggunaan teknologi informasi secara etis. Etika komputer memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan karena masalah: (a) privacy, (b) accuracy, (c) property, dan (d) access yang sangat kompleks. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, peneliti dapat memiliki perspektif yang lebih luas tentang penerapan etika komputer di bidang teknologi informasi. Ilmuwan komputer dapat menggunakan penelitian ini untuk menemukan aplikasi penulisan ilmiah yang memperdalam masalah etika ilmu komputer, baik dalam konferensi, jurnal, atau publikasi buku.

Abstract

The need for halal food and beverage products continuously increases in every country, especially in Indonesia. This condition encourages the guarantees for halal products circulating in the market. The study of Etlingera elatior has been widely carried out, reporting its potential to be used as a health drink. However, until now, there have not been many studies examining Etlingera elatior as a halal product. This study aims to make a halal and rich antioxidant drink from Etlingera elatior. This study used experimental research with a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment given was the long blanching time of Etlingera elatior with the identical formula. The materials used in this study consisted of ingredients for making Etlingera elatior drinks and chemical analysis materials. The data analysis included the assessment of the alcohol content and antioxidant capacity of Etlingera elatior juice. From the analysis of the alcohol content, it was found that the Etlingera elatior beverage had a negative alcohol content but a high antioxidant capacity which was good for health. The results of the ethanol content analysis on the Etlingera elatior juice with different blanching time (one minute, one minute and a half, and two minutes) was negative, with a qualitative orange color. This study shows that the Etlingera elatior juice beverage has met the quality standards for zinc (Zn) thus, it is safe for consumption. Also, based on the DMRT results, each Etlingera elatior juice formula is significantly different from one another. Therefore, the Etlingera elatior juice is a halal beverage, good for human health. The results of this study have implications for related stakeholders to develop halal beverage products made from Etlingera elatior and serve it as a potential culinary product to be marketed.

Abstract

Developing a 2D horror game and evaluating the reliability of the player experience are two things that are interrelated and equally important. Developers must ensure that the game can provide a satisfying and reliable gaming experience for their players. This study aims to evaluate the reliability of the player's experience in the game entitled Alas Tilas, East Java. This study used the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) in Indonesian as a survey approach method, which was given to 30 teenagers who at least played horror games once. UEQ may provide feedback to developers on the attractiveness, clarity, efficiency, accuracy, stimulation, and novelty aspects of the game. From the results of the UEQ, a reliability test will be carried out using the Cronbach Alpha technique. The results of the descriptive analysis show that these variables are Attractiveness (mean, 0.933), Clarity (mean, 1.808), Efficiency (mean, 1.508), Accuracy (mean, 0.217), Stimulation (mean, 0.667) and Novelty (mean, 0.242). Attractiveness, clarity, and efficiency averaged positive results. The average aspects of accuracy, stimulation, and novelty of the game get neutral results. The results of the reliability test conducted on UEQ data obtained a Cronbach alpha value > 0.6 which indicates that the research data used to test the player experience are considered reliable so that they can be used to provide input for future development of the Alas Tilas game. To increase the average score, the researcher provides recommendations for improvement, namely, adjusting the accuracy and novelty aspects of the horror scenario game entitled Alas Tilas East Java. Therefore, it is expected to improve the quality of the game.

Abstract

Profil kesuburan tanah merupakan hal yang penting dalam pertanian karena merupakan media utama dalam bercocok tanam. Penggunaan pupuk kimia dan pestisida secara terus menerus dan berlebihan akan dapat menimbulkan perubahan sifat fisika dan kimia tanah yang pada akhirnya akan dapat menyebabkan tanah menjadi kritis. Hal ini akan berpengaruh pada produktivitas hasil panen para petani. Salah satu upaya untuk mengetahui tingkat kesuburan tanah adalah melalui diagnosa unsur hara dalam tanah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat pemodelan sistem optimalisasi deteksi kadar unsur hara dalam tanah menggunakan fuzzy. Melalui simulasi ini akan didapatkan data kadar unsur hara tanah dengan parameter unsur hara N (Nitrogen), P (Fosfor) , K (Kalium) menggunakan labview. Berdasarkan parameter tersebut kemudian dihasilkan berapa nilai kadar unsur hara NPK dalam tanah apakah rendah, sedang atau tinggi.
