Abstract

Measuring the independence of students with mild intellectual disabilities requires a well-validated and culturally appropriate instrument as a foundation for designing effective educational interventions. However, in Indonesia, such tools remain limited. This study aimed to develop a non-cognitive Independence Scale for students with mild intellectual disabilities and to evaluate its psychometric properties, including validity, reliability, item difficulty, and discrimination. A 30-item Likert-scale instrument, rated by teachers, was constructed to measure three domains: Personal, Social, and Academic Independence. The scale was pilot tested on 100 students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri Manggar. Quantitative analyses using R Studio included tests of item validity (corrected item–total correlations), internal consistency (Cronbach’s α), item discrimination (upper–lower group method), item difficulty indices, and normality of total scores (Shapiro–Wilk and Kolmogorov–Smirnov tests). All 30 items demonstrated acceptable validity (r ≥ 0.39) and high internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.919). Item discrimination indices were satisfactory (D ≥ 0.30). Seventeen items (57%) were categorized as “Easy” (p > 0.70), while the rest showed moderate difficulty levels, and no items were too difficult (p < 0.30). The total scores were normally distributed (p > 0.05). Overall, the Independence Scale exhibited strong psychometric properties, indicating its suitability for assessing the independence of students. Future revisions are recommended to refine items that were identified as Easy to enhance discrimination among higher-performing students.

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of a multidimensional assessment instrument aimed at evaluating high school students’ learning outcomes in the topic of torque within physics education. The instrument integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains through a combination of multiple-choice questions for conceptual understanding and Likert-scale questionnaires for assessing students’ interest and communication skills. The development process followed a systematic model consisting of planning, instrument construction, and pilot testing. The trial was conducted with 22 eleventh-grade students from SMAN 1 Dlingo, Bantul, Indonesia, selected via random sampling. Content validity was assessed using Aiken’s V index, while internal consistency reliability was measured using Cronbach’s Alpha with SPSS version 26.0. The results indicated that all items demonstrated high content validity (V > 0.87) and acceptable to excellent reliability coefficients: 0.74 for cognitive, 0.81 for affective, and 0.93 for psychomotor components. These findings affirm that the developed instrument is both valid and reliable, making it suitable for comprehensive evaluation of student learning outcomes in physics. Practically, the instrument enables teachers to diagnose students’ conceptual mastery, motivation, and communication skills in an integrated manner, especially for abstract topics like torque. The novelty of this research lies in its multidomain assessment design tailored to the challenges of physics learning in the Indonesian high school context, supporting differentiated instruction and holistic evaluation aligned with the curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between stress management skills and students’ resilience in facing collaborative project-based assessment. The participants were 117 junior high school students from two private schools in Bandung who were involved in collaborative project-based assessments. This study employed a quantitative correlational research design. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring students’ stress management skills and resilience, which were validated through expert judgment and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s correlation test. The results show that most students demonstrate high levels of stress management and resilience, indicating the use of adaptive coping strategies and strong learning perseverance. However, the correlation between stress management and resilience was very weak and not statistically significant. These findings indicate that students’ academic resilience may be influenced more by external factors such as social support, learning environment, and academic context rather than individual stress management skills. This study highlights the importance of supportive learning environments in strengthening students’ resilience when facing collaborative project-based assessments.

Abstract

The telecommunications industry is currently facing dual challenges in the VUCA era (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). Incumbent companies, particularly state-owned enterprises such as PT Telkom, are required to balance the exploitation of their core business for short-term profitability with the exploration of digital innovations for long-term sustainability. Objective: This study aims to analyze the concept of Ambidextrous Leadership as a key capability for senior leaders in navigating this innovation paradox and to formulate a conceptual framework for its application within state-owned enterprises. Method: The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA protocol. Articles were collected from reputable databases (Scopus, Google Scholar) over the past ten years using keywords related to ambidextrous leadership and digital transformation. Results: The findings indicate that Ambidextrous Leadership consists of two dynamic behaviors: opening behavior (encouraging risk-taking and variance) and closing behavior (emphasizing efficiency and target achievement). In the bureaucratic context of state-owned enterprises, leaders require high cognitive flexibility to switch between these two modes. Conclusion: The implementation of Ambidextrous Leadership in the telecommunications sector necessitates an organizational culture that tolerates failure during the exploration phase while maintaining discipline during the exploitation phase.

Abstract

The achievement of students’ learning outcomes in physics lessons has a low tendency, this is due to various factors, one of which is higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) based learning that has not been fully implemented in the learning process and assessment. This study aimed to determine the differences in the Synectic-HOTS learning model in physics compared to conventional learning models. This study used a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test–post-test nonequivalent control group design. The instrument used in this study is a two-tier test question that contains 20 items of HOTS aspect. The prerequisite test showed that the data was not homogeneous, while the results of the data homogeneity test were stated to be homogeneous. Therefore, a non-parametric test was carried out using the Mann-Whitney U-test. Based on the results of the data analysis, the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) for the pre-test was 0.111 and the post-test was 0.001 (p=.000<05). The effect size calculation shows that the Synectic learning model is effective in the medium category. These results indicate that the application of the SynecticHOTS model significantly improves HOTS when compared to conventional learning models. This work can open up insights to teachers about alternative, creative, and effective learning models to improve higher-order thinking skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is the core of the independent curriculum now. The aim of this research is to develop an instrument for measuring the cognitive learning outcomes of high school students based on differentiated learning on elasticity material and to obtain its characteristics. Differentiation, in this case, is differentiation of student learning styles. The instrument grid is arranged based on indicators of cognitive learning outcomes, which are then used to compile question items. The test instrument consists of two test sets, each of which has 9 items including two anchor items so that the total number of items is 16 items and has been validated by 6 experts. The validated instrument was tested on 252 respondents spread across high schools in the low, medium and high categories. Dichotomous data were analyzed using the Partial Credit Model (PCM). The trial results showed that all 16 items and the differentiated learning-based student cognitive learning outcomes test instrument were proven to be valid, fit the PCM model, and reliable, which means all items were in the good category. Thus, the test instrument developed meets the requirements for measuring the cognitive learning outcomes of high school students on elasticity material based on differentiated learning.
