Abstract

This paper is analyzing the effect of the blended learning station rotation model on students' learning outcomes through a meta-analytic approach. The background of this research stems from the increasing use of digital technology in education, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic, which encouraged teachers to integrate face-to-face and online learning into a unified instructional strategy. The station rotation model is considered adequate as it offers flexibility in learning time, facilitates differentiated learning, and enhances interaction between teachers and students. However, previous studies have shown varying levels of effectiveness, necessitating a comprehensive synthesis to gain an overall understanding of its impact on learning outcomes. This study employs the meta-analysis method following the PRISMA, which include the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Sources obtained from indexed international journal articles, with inclusion. The results revealed that the station rotation model had a positive and significant effect on students' learning outcomes, with a moderate to high category of influence. Furthermore, moderators such as educational level, subject matter, duration of intervention, and research location were found to affect the magnitude of its impact. This study reaffirms that implementing the station rotation model can be an effective learning strategy to improve learning outcomes, particularly when integrated with adaptive instructional design and relevant digital media. There are expected to serve as a reference for educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers in optimizing the application of the blended learning model, specifically the station rotation type, at various educational levels. Future researchers are encouraged to expand the scope of inquiry to include non-cognitive variables such as motivation, learning engagement, and 21st-century skills, thereby providing a more comprehensive picture of the model's effectiveness.

Abstract

An ideal assessment should offer constructive feedback and insights into students' strengths and weaknesses in learning. This study aims to develop an assessment model integrating formative assessment with Differentiated Instruction (DIFAM) to assess learning achievements proportionally. The DIFAM model was developed using the ADDIE development framework. The research sample consisted of 99 students from four high schools in Bandung Regency. Student learning profiles were analyzed using N-Gain and paired sample t-test. Data analysis was conducted with R Studio and JASP software. Data analysis using the N-Gain formula revealed an average improvement in student learning achievements of 25% with the implementation of DIFAM. The formative tests conducted over eight sessions showed that students grasped the material more effectively compared to conventional teaching methods. Feedback from students and teachers indicated that DIFAM facilitated more structured learning and provided constructive feedback, contributing significantly to enhanced student performance. The DIFAM model demonstrates its ability to cater to diverse student needs, achieve significant learning improvements, and has the potential for broader application to ensure more inclusive and equitable learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument on the Kinetic Theory of Gases (Boyle's Law) to measure the conceptual understanding, collaboration skills, and learning motivation of high school students in the context of the Independent Curriculum. The instrument developed consists of 10 multiple-choice questions to measure conceptual understanding and 10 questionnaire statements for collaboration skills and learning motivation. The development process follows systematic stages, including planning, expert validation, and empirical trials. Content validity was analyzed using the Aiken V index, and it was found that all items were in the high validity category. Empirical validation was carried out using the Rasch model through Winsteps software, which showed that most items were in the statistical range of feasibility (Infit MNSQ: 0.80–1.15 for conceptual understanding, 0.85–1.13 for collaboration, and 0.82–1.12 for motivation). The reliability coefficient ranged from 0.74 to 0.85, indicating high internal consistency. The distribution of the level of difficulty of conceptual understanding questions includes easy (30%), moderate (40%), and complex (30%), thus reflecting balance. As many as 9 out of 10 conceptual understanding questions were declared valid and feasible, while all items in the collaboration and motivation questionnaire were maintained. These results indicate that the developed instrument is valid and reliable as a holistic assessment tool in physics learning, supports the formative assessment that aligns with 21st-century competencies, and strengthens collaborative character and lifelong learning motivation.

Abstract

Measuring the independence of students with mild intellectual disabilities requires a well-validated and culturally appropriate instrument as a foundation for designing effective educational interventions. However, in Indonesia, such tools remain limited. This study aimed to develop a non-cognitive Independence Scale for students with mild intellectual disabilities and to evaluate its psychometric properties, including validity, reliability, item difficulty, and discrimination. A 30-item Likert-scale instrument, rated by teachers, was constructed to measure three domains: Personal, Social, and Academic Independence. The scale was pilot tested on 100 students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri Manggar. Quantitative analyses using R Studio included tests of item validity (corrected item–total correlations), internal consistency (Cronbach’s α), item discrimination (upper–lower group method), item difficulty indices, and normality of total scores (Shapiro–Wilk and Kolmogorov–Smirnov tests). All 30 items demonstrated acceptable validity (r ≥ 0.39) and high internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.919). Item discrimination indices were satisfactory (D ≥ 0.30). Seventeen items (57%) were categorized as “Easy” (p > 0.70), while the rest showed moderate difficulty levels, and no items were too difficult (p < 0.30). The total scores were normally distributed (p > 0.05). Overall, the Independence Scale exhibited strong psychometric properties, indicating its suitability for assessing the independence of students. Future revisions are recommended to refine items that were identified as Easy to enhance discrimination among higher-performing students.
