Abstract

Assessment is an important process in the learning series that needs to be carried out as well as possible using clear and high-quality instruments. Assessment of the character of discipline and responsibility in one elementary school was only carried out based on teacher observations. This can indirectly make the assessment subjective from the teacher's perspective only. This research aims to produce a collection of instruments for assessing the character of discipline and responsibility in the form of a quality self-scale. This type of research is development research carried out using the development instrument stage. The number of items developed in this research was 20 statements. After being analyzed using CFA, a total of 14 statements were obtained which can be used to measure discipline and responsibility character. The data collection technique used in this research used a validation sheet and a self-scale with a 5-category Likert. Validity is calculated using the Aikens formula and produces a high score. Meanwhile, the estimated reliability of this instrument was calculated using Composite Reliability, producing a number >0.7, which means the instrument has high reliability. Proof of validity and reliability has been fulfilled so that the instrument can be used in assessing discipline and responsibility character. Through a valid and reliable instrument, more accurate measurement data will be obtained, and objectivity in character assessment will be guaranteed. The research implications are in the self-scale which can be used as a balance in latent character assessment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of a physics critical thinking test focused on the topic of diffraction grating using the Rasch model, with the aid of QUEST software. The research employed an evaluative methodology with a descriptive quantitative approach. The subjects consisted of 30 eleventh-grade students from SMA Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta. The test instrument comprised 10 multiple-choice physics questions, which were developed and validated in collaboration with physics teachers. These questions specifically addressed the concept of diffraction grating, aiming to measure students’ critical thinking skills in that domain including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. Data analysis was conducted using the Rasch model via QUEST software to evaluate item fit, reliability, and consistency. The results showed that 8 out of the 10 items had INFIT MNSQ values ranging from 0.77 to 1.33, indicating a good fit with the Rasch model. However, items 6 and 9 were found to have INFIT MNSQ values outside the acceptable range, suggesting that they were misfitting and should be revised and refined to better align with the intended construct. Despite this, the items may be revised for future use. The OUTFIT t values for all items were ≤ 2.00, confirming their usability. Additionally, the item reliability estimate was 0.84 and the case reliability estimate was 0.56, demonstrating high internal consistency and indicating that the test is suitable for measuring students' critical thinking skills in physics

Abstract

Feedback on formative assessment is a teacher's effort to help students with learning difficulties by responding to their evaluation results, especially on HOTS-based evaluations, which have a higher level of completion. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of immediate feedback on improving Material Comprehension (MC) and Learning Motivation (LM). Unfortunately, the teacher needs to provide feedback due to several factors, one of which is time constraints due to teachers’ activity. This study aims to investigate the effect of Go Formative in providing immediate feedback on formative physics assessments on material comprehension and learning motivation enhancement of 10th-grade high school students. This research is quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design involving two classes, namely the control and experimental classes. The two classes were selected by employing a simple random sampling technique. This study's results show a different effect of using Go Formative in providing quick feedback in improving students' material comprehension. The existence of these differences makes the provision of quick and immediate feedback through the Go Formative website a solution to overcome the obstacles experienced by teachers in carrying out formative assessments.
