Abstract

Boilers function to produce hot water or hot steam from combustion products to be converted as energy. Steam is used to drive turbines to produce electrical energy, apart from that steam is also used for heating. The boiler fuel uses biomass in the form of tree bark, namely acacia mangium. The aim of this study is to find out whether the process running in the Power boiler is good or not, it can be seen from its efficiency, so that the energy balance calculation is carried out on the Power boiler itself. Therefore, a study is needed to determine the energy balance of the unit. From the heat balance calculation, the heat data for producing steam was 1924,927,054 kcal, the latent heat of vaporization was 5732,620,038 kcal and the feed water heat was 11156296.65 kcal. So from the calculations obtained we can find out the energy balance in the boiler and the resulting Supply Steam Consumption

Abstract

Literasi finansial merupakan keterampilan yang penting untuk dimiliki oleh setiap individu guna mencapai kesejahteraan di masa depan. Pemahaman tentang literasi finansial dapat dilakukan melalui diskusi interaktif. Layanan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi finansial Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) yang berada di Taiwan. Diskusi interaktif dilakukan secara online oleh tim dari Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Internasional (PKMI) dari Universitas Sebelas Maret. Aktivitas ini dilaksanakan melalui program workshop dan sosialisasi berbentuk Focus Group Discussion (FGD) yang menghadirkan dua pakar dalam bidang pendidikan serta ekonomi sebagai narasumber. Sasaran layanan ini adalah komunitas PMI di Taiwan dengan total peserta sebanyak 65 orang. Proses analisis data dimulai dengan reduksi, penyajian hasil yang sistematis, dan menyimpulkan hasil. Temuan dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran peserta mengenai pentingnya pengelolaan keuangan pribadi, seperti membuat anggaran, merencanakan investasi, dan menerapkan metode pembagian 50:30:20. Kegiatan ini menjadi langkah pertama dalam mendukung kesejahteraan finansial PMI untuk mengurangi stress keuangan selama dan setelah masa kerja di luar negeri.

Abstract

The amalgamation of natural polymers derived from lignocellulosic waste with synthetic polymers is a potential avenue for producing high-value products through nanotechnological innovations. Nanofibers are a significant application of nanotechnology and is now being explored as an alternative method for treating lignocellulosic waste. Nanofiber is a fiber generated by an electrospinning device. Cellulose obtained from lignocellulose can be transformed into valuable products, including nanocellulose. This project entails the synthesis of nanofibers via the combination of natural and synthetic polymers, an innovative approach in the field. Natural polymers are derived from alginate and nanocellulose, whilst synthetic polymers are produced from Poly Vinyl Alcohol (PVA). This study employs nanofibrils in healthcare, specifically as a cartridge filter in masks infused with Eucalyptus sp. This study sought to identify the optimal method for producing nanofibers with a minimal pore size by varying the concentrations of PVA (4%, 8%, 12%, and 16%) and nanocellulose (2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%). This research employs a combination of methods to produce nanocellulose of suitable size, an innovative process. The pretreatment process utilizes a blend of chemical and physical methods. Nanocellulose is synthesized using varying concentrations of sulfuric acid (25%, 50%, and 75%) during the acid hydrolysis process. The optimal nanocellulose size was attained at a sulfuric acid concentration of 50% (40oC, 10 minutes), as evidenced by a mean diameter of 484.3 nm. The amalgamation of physical and chemical methods has demonstrated efficacy in generating a beneficial pore size distribution in nanocellulose. Nanofibers are synthesized utilizing 12% PVA, 0.5% alginate, 2.5% nanocellulose, and 1% Eucalyptus sp. over 30 hours (3 mL), resulting in an average diameter of 200 nm for the created nanofibers. Concurrently, the nanofiber produced in the absence of Eucalyptus sp. exhibited a diameter of 240 nanometers.

Abstract

Integrating Digital Technology into Disaster Education and Its Impact on Elementary School Students’ Literacy and Resilience. Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest risks of natural disasters in the world; hence, disaster education in elementary schools is an urgent need. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital technology-based disaster education in improving the disaster literacy and resilience of elementary school students in areas prone to volcanic eruptions. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of elementary school students living in disaster-prone areas. The instruments used included a disaster literacy test, a resilience questionnaire, and interviews with teachers and students to strengthen the quantitative results. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test to examine differences within groups and an independent sample t-test to compare differences between groups. Findings: The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group compared to the control group. The disaster literacy score in the experimental group increased from 47.67 to 82.17, and the resilience score from 58.60 to 80.30. Meanwhile, the control group only experienced a lower increase. The paired sample t-test results showed a significant difference (p < 0.05). The control group did not experience a significant increase in the number of participants. The independent sample t-test also confirmed a significant difference between the two groups in their posttest scores, with an average difference of 15.84 points for disaster literacy and 14.30 points for resilience. Qualitative data supported these results, with teachers rating interactive digital media as facilitating the understanding of evacuation and simulations, while students found the learning more engaging and easier to practice. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that digital technology-based disaster learning is more effective than conventional methods in enhancing the literacy and resilience of elementary school students. The implication is the importance of integrating digital technology into the disaster education curriculum, so that students not only understand the theory but are also able to adapt, be resilient, and take appropriate action when facing disasters in their environment. Keywords: disaster education, technology, digital, disaster literacy, disaster resilience.

Abstract

Learning is not only done in the classroom but also outside the classroom through game media. This study focuses on the effect of vocabulary knowledge from massively multiplayer online role-playing games on students' willingness to communicate. The subjects of this research are three EFL learners who play MMORPG games. This study uses a biographical narrative inquiry method and collects data through semi-structured interviews and artefacts. EFL learners were assigned to share their experiences playing MMORPGs related to vocabulary knowledge and the desire to communicate. The data is analysed using thematic analysis. The findings highlight the positive impact of vocabulary knowledge on participants' self-confidence and pronunciation skills. A solid grasp of game-related vocabulary increases participants' self-confidence, making them more comfortable engaging in conversations and less afraid of making mistakes. It also improves pronunciation skills, as participants better understand word pronunciation through in-game interactions. Through collaboration among teachers, institutions, and parents, using MMORPGs as a learning tool is expected to provide maximum benefits for students in improving their English communication skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to design and evaluate a local wisdom–based entrepreneurship course model to enhance the entrepreneurial competencies of pre-service science teachers. The research followed the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) instructional design framework and employed the Delphi and Fuzzy Delphi methods for expert validation involving ten specialists in science and entrepreneurship education. A true experimental design using a posttest-only control group was conducted with 62 participants enrolled in an entrepreneurship course at a university in Central Java, Indonesia. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, independent sample t-tests, and Cohen’s d to determine the effect size. The results demonstrated that the developed model achieved high validity across all instructional stages (DV > 0.7; d < 0.2). Empirical findings indicated that the experimental group exhibited significantly higher gains in entrepreneurial skills than the control group (p < 0.05), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.54). The model effectively strengthened students’ risk-taking abilities, opportunity recognition, self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and innovative thinking. These findings underscore that integrating local wisdom into entrepreneurship education fosters contextualized learning experiences and promotes sustainable entrepreneurial behavior among future science educators. The proposed model provides a practical framework for higher education institutions to develop entrepreneurial competencies while preserving and utilizing local cultural values.Keywords: entrepreneurship education; local potential; pre-service science teachers; entrepreneurial skills; fuzzy

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument based on the six facets of understanding within the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework, specifically for thermochemistry material. The research adopted the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study was conducted from February to May 2025 at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau, with field testing carried out at SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru and SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau. Data were collected through expert validation, one-on-one trials, small group trials, and item characteristic analysis. Expert validation results indicated that the developed instrument is valid in terms of content, construct, and language, with average percentage scores of 100%, 96.63%, and 100%, respectively. Student responses to the instrument fell into the “very good” category, with an average score percentage of 91.08%. Teacher responses also indicated a “very good” category, with an average score percentage of 95.83%. The item analysis revealed that the instrument has strong construct validity, high reliability, and appropriate levels of difficulty and discrimination. Therefore, this assessment instrument is deemed suitable for measuring students’ understanding in alignment with the learning objectives outlined in the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan menghasilkan E-LKPD kimia hijau berbasis PBL-SETS yang valid dan layak digunakan. Penelitian meliputi validasi dan uji coba terbatas. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pengembangan atau dikenal dengan istilah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) dimodifikasi 3-D (Define, Design, Develop).Hasil validasi oleh validator materi media berdasarkan kelayakan isi, karakteristik PBL, karakteristik SETS, bahasa, penyajian, tampilan (desain komunikasi visual) dan pemanfaatan software berturut-turut memiliki nilai kelayakan dengan rata-rata skor 99,38% yang berarti valid. Respon guru dan peserta didik berturut-turut diperoleh persentase rata[1]rata sebesar 88,89% dan 93,94% dengan kriteria sangat baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal Hots pada pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) di kelas IX SMP Negeri 5 Bonai Darussalam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan 8 kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 5 Bonai Darussalam yang berjumlah 20 orang siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa teknik tes dan non tes. Teknik tes berupa soal esay dan teknik non tes berupa lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Data diperoleh dari lembar jawaban siswa mengenai kemampuan menyelesaikan soal Hots dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik deskripsif persentase kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal hots terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Hasil tersebut diperoleh berdasarkan hasil lembar jawaban siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Hots yang diberikan pada akhir siklus I dan siklus II yakni berada pada kategori tinggi dengan rata-rata total dari setiap level soal Hots adalah 75,77 pada siklus I, kemudian pada siklus II dalam kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata total setiap level soal Hots adalah 86,15. Selain itu hasil post test pada siklus I dan siklus II juga mengalami peningkatan rata-rata dari 76,84 menjadi 93,28. Selanjutnya berdasarkan hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas diperoleh rata-rata 94% pada siklus I dan 98% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal Hots pada pembelajaran matematika siswa dengan menerapkan model problem based learning (PBL) di kelas IX SMP Negeri 5 Bonai Darussalam pada tahun ajaran 2022/2023.

Abstract

Permasalahan pendidikan yang dihadapi di antaranya adalah mutu lulusan yang masih rendah pada pendidikan madrasah. Belum optimalnya manajemen pembelajaran diduga sebagai akibat dari pengaruh kompetensi guru yang belum optimal sehingga mengakibatkan belum optimalnya mutu lulusan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi guru terhadap manajemen pembelajaran untuk mewujudkan mutu lulusan. Penelitian ini mengkaji dan menganalisis dampak kompetensi guru terhadap manajemen pembelajaran untuk mewujudkan mutu lulusan. Metode sensus dan deskriptif digabungkan dalam Penelitian ini. Di MTs Darusalam Wanaraja diambil sampel sebanyak 53 guru dari populasi umum. Metode analisis data adalah model analisis jalur statistik, Studi lapangan dan studi dokumentasi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu = thitung 16,6882 > ttabel = 2,0096 diperoleh dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan analisis jalur. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen Pembelajaran berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel Kompetensi Guru dalam rangka mewujudkan mutu lulusan. Temuan penting Penelitian sudah terungkap, sehingga direkomendasikan untuk mencari solusi untuk masalah ini dengan langkah : 1) Ada baiknya dari madrasah ketika guru yang tidak linier disekolahkan lagi dengan jurusan yang sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang diampunya, 2) Mengadakan pembinaan dalam pelaksanaan program pembelajaran, mengadakan supervisi secara berkala, 3) Menyesuaikan antara mata pelajaran yang diampu dengan kualifikasi pendidikan terakhir yang dimiliki oleh guru sehingga guru memahami materi yang akan disampaikan saat melakukan pembelajaran yang selalu mengaitkan materi dengan kejadian yang terjadi sehingga siswa mampu memahami apa yang guru sampaikan saat pembelajaran secara keseluruhan dan kontinu terkait capaian hasil belajar siswa.
