Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to systematically evaluate the effectiveness of the Multiple Intelligences (MI) approach for remedial foundational reading, writing, and arithmetic (calistung) instruction in elementary schools Methodology: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted according to the PRISMA framework. A comprehensive search of literature published between 2020-2025 was performed across multiple academic databases using predefined keywords. A total of 20 relevant studies were identified, critically appraised, and thematically synthesized. Main Findings: The MI approach shows positive potential in improving calistung skills, particularly when integrated with active strategies like Problem-Based Learning and using MI-based worksheets. However, most existing studies have key methodological limitations, including small sample sizes, weak designs, and a lack of longitudinal data. Effectiveness is highly dependent on implementation quality and context. Novelty/Originality of this study: This review provides a novel, focused synthesis of recent empirical evidence on MI for remedial calistung, a specific and critical educational context. It advances knowledge by identifying a consistent research-practice gap and offering concrete, evidence-based recommendations for future research and curriculum integration, moving beyond general theoretical discussion.

Abstract

This development research aims to examine the feasibility of the Google Sites based instructional media as a learning tool for narrating the Legend of Jombang. The Google Sites learning media can be accessed through each student’s device. Through validation tests involving media experts, content experts, and peer reviewers, as well as individual, small group, and large group trials, this Google Sites learning media is expected to serve as an effective educational innovation for 21st century learning. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model. The research subjects were fifth grade students at elementary schools. The results of the media expert validation showed an average feasibility score of 91.6%, while the material expert validation obtained an average of 90.9%. Peer evaluation yielded an average score of 90%, followed by individual trials with an average of 85%, small group trials with 88.5%, and large group trials with 91.16%. Based on the results of the validation and trials, the Google Sites media developed is very feasible and relevant in today's digital era, serving as an implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The use of E-Modules is not new for educators; however, there remains a limited number of studies that specifically develop Flipbook-based interactive modules integrating local cultural values to enhance elementary students’ fiction writing skills. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of the interactive E-Module “Andum Alpukat” as a learning medium, employing a research and development (R&D) design that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. The development process involved validation by material experts, module design experts, peer reviewers, and trials conducted individually, in small groups, and in large groups with fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Pulosari 1 Bareng Jombang. The findings reveal that the module received a feasibility score of 75% from material experts, 93.75% from design experts, 97.5% from peer reviewers, and 89.99% based on student responses. These results indicate that the “Andum Alpukat” interactive E-Module is both feasible and effective in improving students’ fiction writing skills. The study concludes that a modified Flipbook aligned with students’ learning needs can produce a high-quality and engaging instructional medium. The implications of this study suggest that similar modules have strong potential for broader implementation within Merdeka Curriculum–oriented classrooms and for fostering culturally grounded creativity in fiction writing to strengthen meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the actual conditions of instructional practices, levels of religious moderation literacy, and emotional maturity among students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Sumenep Regency. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating descriptive–exploratory qualitative methods with quantitative survey data. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation across five Madrasah Ibtidaiyah representing both mainland and island regions. The findings indicate that learning practices in Sumenep have adopted the principles of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and local wisdom–based approaches; however, these practices remain predominantly focused on cognitive and socio-cultural aspects, with limited emphasis on the affective domain. This condition is reflected in the average scores of religious moderation literacy (2.41) and emotional maturity (2.57) on a four-point scale, suggesting that students’ understanding of tolerance and self-regulation is still largely conceptual and has not yet reached the stage of behavioral internalization. Madurese cultural values such as tengka’ (mutual respect) and bhâghus (politeness) demonstrate strong potential as reflective learning resources to strengthen students’ moderate character and emotional stability. These findings highlight the need for the development of an integrative learning model based on local wisdom that systematically integrates cognitive, affective, and social dimensions through stages of value orientation, exploration, collaborative learning, positive behavioral modeling, and reflective evaluation. Such a model is expected to foster a generation that is knowledgeable, empathetic, and characterized by moderate attitudes in accordance with the socio-cultural context of Sumenep. This study remains exploratory in nature and has not yet reached the effectiveness testing stage; therefore, further comprehensive research with more rigorous quantitative analysis is required.

Abstract

Sidoarjo Regency has diverse local wisdom. However, the educational potential has not been utilized optimally. This research aims to (1) identify and map the types of local wisdom of Sidoarjo that have the potential to be integrated into learning; (2) Analyzing the perception and needs of teachers and students for teaching modules based on local wisdom; and (3) Formulate an outline of the characteristics of effective teaching modules. The method uses qualitative research of the type of case study at SD Negeri Waru 1 Sidoarjo. Observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. Data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study revealed that: (1) There are five pillars of local wisdom in Sidoarjo that have great potential as a source of learning, namely customs, culinary, dance, historical sites, and batik; (2) Teachers experience difficulties in integrating local wisdom due to the limited systematic and applicative teaching modules, while students crave contextual learning that can foster cultural pride; and (3) Teaching modules with thematic-integrative characteristics are needed, using a project-based learning approach, and equipped with LKPD and interesting audiovisual materials.

Abstract

Social studies learning in elementary schools is often considered boring because the delivery of material tends to be conventional, focusing on lectures and memorization methods. This study aims to analyze the need for social studies learning media for the economic activities of fifth-grade students at SDN Simomulyo I Surabaya. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a needs analysis type. The research subjects consisted of fifth-grade teachers and fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed that social studies learning is still conventional and teacher-centered. The media used has not been able to attract student interest, resulting in low learning motivation. Based on the results of the needs analysis, it was found that students need interactive, contextual, and educational game-based learning media. The economic monopoly game media is considered to have the most potential for development because it can simulate real economic activities, foster cooperation, and increase learning motivation.
