Abstract

The application of three-dimensional (3D) models in the medical field has become popular. However, the accuracy of 3D models for surgical guidance varies among different materials and 3D printing technologies, such as printing machine usage. Objectives: This study aims to obtain more information about the effect of three different materials printed using a fused deposition material printer from the same digital data source. This study also aims to compare, analyze, and test the materials’ ability. Methods: Each of the filament materials (acetylbutane stearate [ABS], polylactic acid [PLA], and high-impact polystyrene [HIPS]) are printed at two infill densities, their weight, volume, and dimension are measured, and infill materials are prepared. Printing time is estimated and calculated on the basis of printing properties by using Simplify3D© software. The strength and surface tension of each sample are examined via a drilling test. Results: PLA is better than ABS and HIPS for printing our 3D model because of its properties. Conclusion: Ideal 3D materials for printing 3D models should fulfill the criteria on accuracy, strength, weight, and durability for usage. However, production time and cost should also be considered.

Abstract

An antiplasmodial activity of n-butanol fraction from mahoni bark extract (Swietenia mahagoni Jacq.) and pure compound chlorogenic acid were investigated on white male miceSwiss derivated strain which were infected by Plasmodium berghei ANKA strain. Samplewere administrated i.p ., which n-butanol fraction with convertion dose 100, 200 and 400 mg/kgBW and chlorogenic acid with dose 0,01; 0,1; 1 and 10 mg/kg BW respectively for a period of 4days, consecutively started one day after parasit inoculation.Parasit persentage was counted daily (H0 to H4).The best aniplasmodial activity was shown by n-butanol fraction with convertion dose 200mg/kg BW (fraction dose 81,89 mg/ kg BW )with inhibition persentage 45.05% and chlorogenic acidwith dose 10 mg/kg BW with inhibition persentage 55,51%.

Abstract

Abstract

AbstractIn Law no. 18 of 2008 Article 12 states that waste management must be environmentally sound so that awareness and real action from the community are highly expected in supporting this policy. To realize this, it is necessary to hold organic waste management training activities so that the community is moved and aware of the importance of their participation in waste management, especially within the school sphere. Based on observations made at Kemala Bhayangkari Elementary School it was found that the awareness of school residents in waste management, especially organic waste, is still very low. Therefore, the service team compiled an agenda for the implementation of the Takakura Compost Fertilizer Training, namely making Takakura compost, in order to create independent and productive school residents through Organic Waste Management. Making Takakura compost is relatively practical and simple, because it doesn't require land, so it's very suitable for small scale. This activity can also support the school to remain beautiful and clean and avoid air pollution, which causes bad odors. The results of processing organic waste into Takakura compost can also be used as a good planting medium to help schools plant green trees so that schools remain beautiful. The implementation of this training started with a field survey and coordination with the school, followed by program socialization and program implementation. In the implementation process, starting from the stages: 1) Garbage collection, 2) Waste segregation, 3) Implementation preparation, in the form of preparation of supporting tools and materials, 3) Takakura composting, and 4) Trial. Lastly is the evaluation of activities that aim to evaluate the progress of the implementation of takakura composting at Kemala Bhayangkari Elementary School. The results of the training show that with the new skills they already have, the participants' awareness of organic waste management is also increasing.
