Abstract

The theme of polygamy is becoming more and more hotly discussed because of the many cases of polygamy that have arisen, causing hatred and separation in the midst of the family. Among the opinions that support polygamy, they use the Qur'an as a proof. Likewise, those who reject polygamy also use the Qur'anic text as a basis. The verse of the Qur'an that some people who support polygamy rely on is Surah An-Nisa [4]: 3. They interpret the verse with a clear meaning contained in the words. This study uses research using qualitative research with a library research approach. Polygamy is one of the shari'a of fixed Islamic shari'a. This has been stated in the letter an-Nisa [4]: 3. However, in its interpretation, the scholars have different opinions whether the order is mandatory or not. Scholars from the Zahiriyyah consider it obligatory, while the majority of scholars consider it permissible depending on the circumstances of the family being lived.

Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by persistently elevated blood glucose levels and is a significant global public health problem. Wet cupping therapy is a complementary therapy that supports glycemic control, although community-based evidence is still very limited. This study was conducted to examine the short-term impact of wet cupping therapy on blood glucose levels in adults. This study used a pre-experimental, single-group pre-test-post-test design and was conducted in Wirobrajan Village, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in April 2025. Thirty adults aged 26-45 years who were not receiving glucose-lowering medication were recruited using quota sampling. Blood glucose levels were measured before and immediately after one wet cupping therapy session. A paired-sample t-test with a significance level of p < 0.05 was used to look at the data. The mean blood glucose level dropped from 131 mg/dL before the intervention to 117 mg/dL after, a difference of 14.2 mg/dL. This drop was statistically significant (p = 0.0001). These findings indicate that wet cupping therapy significantly reduces short-term blood glucose levels in adults. Wet cupping therapy can be considered a complementary intervention for glycemic control. However, further randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract

Purpose of the study — This study aims to develop a conceptual framework that links business culture attributes to dynamic capabilities in the retail sector. Specifically, it investigates how decision tempo, collaboration/engagement, measurement/direction, and work/execution culture attributes act as microfoundations for dynamic capabilities, which in turn influence omnichannel integration and retail execution capabilities, ultimately impacting customer experience and retail performance. Research method—This is a conceptual paper that synthesizes existing literature from organizational culture and dynamic capabilities theories. The framework was developed through a rigorous literature review, focusing on the integration of cultural attributes in the context of retail management and omnichannel retailing. Propositions were derived to link cultural attributes with dynamic capabilities and retail outcomes. Result— The study proposes that the four cultural attributes significantly shape dynamic capabilities in retail organizations. These capabilities are essential for enhancing omnichannel integration and improving retail execution. Furthermore, the study suggests that complementarity (fit) among these cultural attributes strengthens capability development and that environmental factors such as market dynamism moderate these relationships. Conclusion— This paper provides a framework for understanding how cultural attributes influence retail performance through dynamic capabilities. It contributes to retail management by offering a practical approach to assessing and improving organizational culture, with implications for both academic research and managerial practice. Retail leaders can use the framework to optimize culture and enhance operational performance, particularly in the context of digital transformation.

Abstract

Amomum compactum essential oil, rich in 1,8-cineole (55–70%), is valued for its therapeutic and aromatic properties but suffers from low yield and thermal degradation in conventional extraction. This study compares and optimizes two green, solvent-free microwave-assisted methods—solvent-free microwave extraction (SFME) and microwave hydrodiffusion and gravity (MHG)—using Box–Behnken Design (BBD) under response surface methodology (RSM). Process variables included feed-to-distiller (F/D) ratio (0.10–0.20 g/mL), microwave power (150–450 W), and extraction time (60–90 min). SFME achieved the highest yield (5.25%) at 300 W, 0.15 g/mL, and 75 min, whereas MHG yielded 2.50% at 150 W, 0.10 g/mL, and 90 min, with superior 1,8-cineole recovery (59.65%) and linalool content (1.98%). Both methods reduced extraction time by 85–95% and energy use by over 90% compared with hydrodistillation, consuming only 0.004–0.006 kWh/g. SEM results confirmed extensive gland rupture (80–90%) and structural breakdown supporting enhanced mass transfer. These findings highlight SFME and MHG as sustainable, energy-efficient innovations aligning with SDGs 9, 12, and 13, advancing the circular bioeconomy and scalable green production of Amomum compactum essential oil.

Abstract

The transformation of the classical Islamic education system is a dynamic process that plays an important role in producing generations of influential Muslim scholars and intellectuals throughout Islamic history. This study aims to analyze the changes and developments of the Islamic education system from the classical period to its relevance in shaping modern Muslim intellectuals. The research method used is library research with a historical-philosophical approach, examining primary and secondary sources related to educational institutions such as kuttab, mosques, madrasahs, and Bayt al-Hikmah. The research results show that the classical Islamic education system underwent significant transformations in curriculum aspects, learning methods, and the role of educational institutions in shaping students' character and knowledge. Islamic education in the classical period did not only emphasize religious aspects, but also the rationality and universal knowledge that gave birth to great figures such as Al-Farabi, Al-Ghazali, and Ibn Sina. The relevance of this transformation in the modern era is seen in efforts to integrate religious knowledge and science within contemporary Islamic education systems to cultivate perfect human beings who are knowledgeable, ethical, and contribute to the advancement of the community.
