Abstract

This study examines compensation systems in low-wage employment, focusing on their design, organizational rationale, and outcomes for employers within the context of Human Resource Management. Utilizing a qualitative literature review method, the research analyzes secondary data from sources like Scopus and Google Scholar to provide insights into compensation trends in low-wage sectors. The findings show that compensation systems in these jobs are typically structured to minimize organizational costs, offering low wages, limited benefits, and minimal employee development opportunities. These designs lead to challenges for workers, such as financial insecurity, job dissatisfaction, and restricted career advancement, while organizations face high turnover, decreased productivity, and reduced employee engagement. Although these strategies provide short-term cost savings, they create long-term challenges for workforce stability. The study emphasizes the importance of designing compensation systems that balance organizational needs with employee well-being, ultimately contributing to sustainable workforce development and improved organizational outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of self-confidence, entrepreneurial competence, and organizational support on the level of innovation readiness and innovative work behavior. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method on members of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association. The results show that self-confidence and entrepreneurial competence have a positive influence on the level of innovation readiness and play a significant role in encouraging innovative work behavior. The level of innovation readiness has a positive effect on innovative work behavior, so that the higher the level of innovation readiness possessed by individuals, the greater the tendency to exhibit innovative work behavior. The level of innovation readiness is a mediating variable in the relationship between self-confidence and entrepreneurial competence variables and innovative work behavior. Conversely, the organizational support variable has a negative moderating effect, indicating that excessive facilitation can reduce individuals' intrinsic motivation to innovate.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to investigate the role of group cohesion as a mediator variable on the influence of group bonding and group norms on group performance.  It is necessary to study group performance because good group performance is very important for the organization, which consists of many groups. This research was conducted at the Setia Bhakti Women's Cooperative, which consists of 470 groups, and the sample for this research was 320 groups. This research uses a quantitative approach and uses structural equation models to test the role of group cohesion.  This study finds that group cohesion as a mediator variable has an important role, because the effect of group bonding on group performance is significant if it is mediated by group cohesion. Likewise, the relationship between group norms and group performance will be significant if it is mediated by group cohesion. This study contributes to expanding the meaning of important antecedents of group performance through group cohesion. This study also enriches the literature on group performance by using the social capital theory framework because previous research used social network theory.

Abstract

This study investigates the resilience-building process of health workers who experienced critical incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic, including family loss, personal infection, and social stigma. Specifically, the research addresses how these factors influence the psychological, emotional, and behavioral resilience of healthcare workers. Using a qualitative method with a Critical Incident Technique design, the study involved in-depth interviews with 12 health workers, including nurses and medical professionals, who met the criteria of having lost a spouse or parent to COVID-19, endured moderate to severe infection, or faced negative community stigma. The interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes and resilience factors. Findings reveal that social support, emotional regulation, self-efficacy, and spirituality played significant roles in resilience-building. Affective responses, such as a sense of security from social support and optimism, cognitive responses like positive thinking and acceptance, and behavioral capacities, including increased worship and professionalism, were prominent. The research also highlights that these resilience processes led to positive adaptation and post-traumatic growth, with 33% of participants reporting a more positive outlook on life and 66% exhibiting increased patience and gratitude. These findings suggest that resilience in healthcare workers is shaped by a complex interplay of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral factors, with implications for policy development and mental health support for healthcare professionals.

Abstract

Character education at the junior high school level is a crucial foundation for students’ moral, emotional, and social development. During early adolescence, students experience significant psychological changes that require educational approaches emphasizing human values and personal meaning. This study aims to examine the integration of educational philosophy and humanistic psychology as a conceptual framework for strengthening students’ character formation. This research employed a qualitative literature review method by analyzing books and peer-reviewed journal articles related to educational philosophy, humanistic psychology, and character education published within the last decade. The results indicate that the integration of educational philosophy and humanistic psychology supports character development through meaningful learning experiences, democratic teacher–student relationships, and the cultivation of values such as responsibility, autonomy, empathy, and respect. This integrative framework is important for establishing holistic education that balances academic achievement and character maturity.

Abstract

Abstract

PsyCap is a key psychological asset to optimize employee performance and well-being during rapid organizational change and uncertainty. According to Positive Organizational Behavior, PsyCap consists of four state-like components, hope, efficacy, resilience, and optimism (HERO) that can be quantified and nurtured to support human potential progression. This systematic literature review was performed based on studies from Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect by synthesising 47 empirical and theoretical papers published from 2004 to 2025 by applying the PRISMA methodology. As results show, PsyCap has significant positive effects on employee engagement, job satisfaction, performance, organizational commitment, and psychological well-being and reduces stress and turnover intention. The antecedents of PsyCap development are leadership; organizational support; and learning culture. PsyCap training and coaching are an example of intervention in which available psychological resources seem to benefit significantly. PsyCap could be considered to be an adaptable and developable form of human capital that enhances organizational and personal growth and further research has to go beyond digital and cross-cultural environments as well as be carried to emerging economies in Indonesia in particular. Abstract

Kata Kunci: Dukungan Teman Sebaya, Fenomenologi Deskriptif, Mahasiswa Pascasarjana, Stres Akademik, Solidaritas AbstractThis study aims to reveal the meaning of peer support in helping postgraduate students overcome academic stress. The approach used is qualitative descriptive phenomenology, based on Edmund Husserl's theory and a modification of Amedeo Giorgi's method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and analyzed using phenomenological procedures to identify the essence of the experiences experienced. The results of the study indicate that peer support, both emotional and informational, plays an important role in creating a supportive and harmonious learning environment. This support has been shown to improve students' psychological well-being and learning motivation. Cultural values such as mutual cooperation and solidarity strengthen these positive impacts. However, the effectiveness of support varies depending on the needs and conditions of each individual. These findings contribute to the development of mentoring policies and the formation of social networks in higher education environments. Keywords: Academic Stress, Descriptive Phenomenology, Peer Support, Postgraduate Students, Solidarity

Abstract

High teacher turnover and increasingly complex professional demands in early childhood education highlight the need to strengthen kindergarten teachers’ commitment. This study tested whether psychological capital predicts teacher commitment indirectly through meaning of work and examined the moderating roles of compassion and principal leadership practices on the meaning of work–commitment association. Data were obtained from 540 kindergarten teachers nested within 176 schools using multistage random sampling and analyzed using multilevel modeling. Psychological capital significantly predicted meaning of work (β = 0.343, p < .001), and meaning of work significantly predicted teacher commitment (β = 0.385, p < .001). The indirect effect of psychological capital on commitment through meaning of work was also significant (indirect effect = 0.132, p = .008). In contrast, the interaction terms for principal leadership practices × meaning of work (β = 0.273, p = .117) and compassion × meaning of work (β = −0.101, p = .277) were not significant. Overall, the findings underscore teachers’ psychological resources and perceived work meaning as key correlates of commitment in early childhood education, while the hypothesized strengthening roles of compassion and leadership practices were not supported in this model. The results are broadly consistent with Social Cognitive Theory and suggest that interventions cultivating psychological capital and enhancing work meaning may help foster sustained teacher commitment.

Abstract

Background: Burnout is a condition that affects people in various occupations; however, there are limitations in the study of burnout in the service sector. Objective: This study aims to determine the influence of Big Five personality on burnout mediated by Psychological Empowerment and moderated by transformational leadership. Methods: This research combines explanatory research methods with quantitative methodology. The population of this study were all employees of PT Telkom Access Divre IV, totalling 243 people in the service operations section. The measurement methods used in this study are the Big Five Inventory (BFI) scale, the 12-item Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT), the 12-item Psychological Empowerment Scale, and the Bass Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. SmartPLS 3.2.9 was used to conduct data analysis. Results: The results showed that the Big Five personality affects burnout, and psychological empowerment affects burnout and can mediate the effect of the Big Five personality on burnout. Transformational leadership can moderate the impact of Big Five personality on burnout. As with all empirical research, the shortcomings of this study must be addressed. First, the model has limited job demands and resources variables as the study focuses on individual variations rather than job features. Second, since this study used self-reported surveys, common method variance may be the cause of the relationship. Conclusion: These findings highlight that burnout is not solely driven by personality, but by how personal traits interact with empowerment processes and supportive leadership, offering important implications for theory development and practical interventions in high-demand service environments.
