Abstract

South Kalimantan has a unique topography that includes tidal areas and swamps, and peatlands. One of the natural resources that grows well in this area is the galam tree (Melaleuca cajuputi). Traditionally, this plant has been used to treat various inflammatory conditions, such as intestinal inflammation, sore throat, itchy skin, and rheumatism. M. cajuputi contains flavonoid compounds that are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties. This study aimed to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extracts and n-hexane fractions of M. cajuputi leaves from South Kalimantan using a protein denaturation inhibition method with IC50 values as the parameter. Sodium diclofenac was used as the positive control in this study. The results of the anti-inflammatory activity test showed that the IC50 values for sodium diclofenac, ethanol extract, and n-hexane fraction of M. cajuputi leaves were 14.948; 51.577; and 61.700 ppm, respectively. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the IC50 value of sodium diclofenac and those of the ethanol extract and n-hexane fraction. Based on the study conducted, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract and n-hexane fraction have anti-inflammatory activity, although their potency is lower than that of sodium diclofenac

Abstract

The development of social media has significantly influenced the way companies establish relationships with their consumers, In an increasingly competitive environment, marketing strategies that involve direct interaction through digital platforms are becoming more crucial for building brand loyalty. This study aims to understand how promotional activities through social media can strengthen consumer loyalty, by considering brand trust and perceptions of brand value as mediating factors that connect these elements. After the raw data had been collected and analyzed through a process that included picking out active Instagram users, we selected those who have followed skincare brand accounts and bought products right after exposure to promotional information. Utilizing SmartPLS software for Structural Equation Modeling, it was found that the quality of a message, visual impact and social interaction represent the three factors which have great influence on whether trust is established or else there will be positive or negative evaluation for your brand. Trust, which builds up from good experiences and consistent communication, as it turns out leads to emotional connections. With these connections in place, it becomes easier to stick around and harder to leave--for repeated generic preferences over time. Also, perceptions of product value and quality serve as reinforcing factors in shaping repeat purchase decisions. The research findings suggest that successful marketing strategies can not only be based on the frequency of social media appearances, but should instead see how relationships are actively and authentically fostered. Enterprises that keep up two-way communication and give consistent experiences will have a better chance for higher customer loyalty. These findings lay a necessary groundwork for business practitioners to design digital approaches less reliant on random solitude and more enabled through social relationships.

Abstract

In Pandansari village, South Kalimantan, Indonesia, residents from Banjar and Javanese communities traditionally utilize medicinal plants as alternatives to conventional medicine. This study aimed to explore the demographics, plant use practices, and preliminary phytochemical analysis of these plants. Using a qualitative, phenomenological approach, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were conducted with four purposively selected informants. The findings revealed 52 medicinal plant species. Leaves were the most commonly used plant part (40%), followed by boiling as the preferred processing method (54%) and drinking as the primary route of administration (58%). Two unidentified plants, asam sembelekan and daun malaysia, were frequently mentioned. Phytochemical screening detected flavonoids, saponins, phenols, and terpenoids in asam sembelekan, while daun malaysia contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids. These findings provide a foundation for further research on the efficacy and safety of these traditional medicinal plants in this community.
