Abstract

This study investigates the impact of using the Slido platform as a gamification tool on student engagement in English language learning at the secondary school level. The research is motivated by the challenges faced in enhancing student engagement through traditional teaching methods, particularly in Indonesia, where technology integration in education remains relatively low. Gamification, which incorporates games such as rewards, points, and challenges, has significantly boosted student participation and motivation. The study uses a quantitative experimental design with two groups: an experimental group that uses Slido for interactive activities such as quizzes, polls, and Q&A sessions, and a control group that follows conventional teaching methods. Data collected from pre-tests, post-tests, and student engagement surveys indicate a substantial increase in engagement among students who used Slido, with the experimental group showing a 29.8% improvement in engagement scores compared to a 6.8% improvement in the control group. These results suggest that Slido's gamified features, by fostering real-time interaction and feedback, effectively enhance student involvement and motivation. The findings offer valuable insights for educators on integrating gamification tools like Slido to improve student participation and create a more dynamic and enjoyable learning environment.

Abstract

This research aims to design QR Code-based digital media that can be used in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education. This media is expected to increase student participation in the election of the head of the organization, as well as provide easy access to information related to the election. By using QR codes, students can easily access relevant information, thus increasing transparency in the election process. This research shows that the application of QR Code-based digital media in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education not only increases transparency in the election of the head of the organization, but also contributes to the development of students' critical thinking skills. By utilizing information technology, it is expected that the election process can be carried out in a more accountable and transparent manner, in line with the principles of democracy expected by Indonesian society.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low numeracy skills of third-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Metro Barat. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectual (SAVI) learning model assisted by Flashcard media on the numeracy skills of third-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Metro Barat. This research employed a quasi-experimental designwith apre-test-post-test control group design. The population of this study involved all 41 students, and  thesample consisted of 20 students. Data collection techniques includedtests (pre-test and post-test) to measure numeracy skills, observation to examine interactions and learning processes, and interviews to gather more in-depth information from teachers or students regarding their learning experiences. Data analysis was conducted using a simple linear regression test to determine the significance of the effect of the SAVI model assisted by Flashcards on students' numeracy skills. Theresults indicated a significant effect of applying the SAVI model assisted by Flashcard media on students' numeracy skills, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 0,05.

Abstract

Abstract

The shift to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated learning loss among elementary students in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas like Natar District, Lampung. Teachers struggled to develop contextual learning modules, hindering effective student-centered education. This community service project aimed to address this gap by mentoring 25 elementary school teachers in Natar District to design innovative, grade-specific learning modules. Employing a participatory action research (PAR) approach, the six month program combined workshops, simulations, and collaborative mentorship. Pre- and post-intervention assessments revealed a 60% improvement in teachers’ module development skills, with 80% successfully creating contextual modules for both lower and upper grades. Partnerships with local schools and the University of Lampung ensured resource accessibility and sustainability. The project underscores the critical role of teacher capacity-building in mitigating learning loss and aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). Future efforts should prioritize scaling the program and integrating digital tools for broader impact.

Abstract

Overthinking among Generation Z adolescents has emerged as a critical psychological issue, driven by digital exposure, academic pressure, and social demands, ultimately impacting mental health. The lack of interventions integrating Islamic spiritual values has worsened this condition. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Islamic mindfulness—combining modern awareness techniques with dzikir, tafakkur, and muhasabah practices—in reducing overthinking and improving emotional regulation. A participatory community-based approach was applied to 25 Muslim Gen Z students (aged 18–24) in Metro City, active in religious forums and showing symptoms of overthinking. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, training observations, and participant reflections, then analyzed thematically. Anticipated results include the development of an evidence-based Islamic mindfulness module, a decrease in overthinking symptoms, and improved spiritual-emotional resilience. Outputs cover scientific publications, digital educational content, and the establishment of a mentally and spiritually aware youth community.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Merdeka (Independent) Curriculum management in enhancing the effectiveness of differentiated learning in Indonesian schools. Curriculum management plays a pivotal role in improving education quality, particularly in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, which grants flexibility to tailor learning to individual student needs. Differentiated learning fosters inclusive, adaptive, and responsive classrooms that address diverse abilities, interests, and learning styles. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA framework, this research analyzed 20 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2024 from Google Scholar and SINTA. Findings reveal that the Independent Curriculum’s flexible, student-centered approach significantly supports differentiated learning, improving student engagement and enabling teachers to adapt instruction effectively. However, challenges remain, including varying levels of teacher preparedness and the complexity of addressing diverse learner profiles. Addressing these issues requires targeted professional development and sustained teacher support. Overall, this review highlights how Independent Curriculum management contributes to more active, personalized learning experiences, ultimately advancing educational inclusivity and responsiveness in Indonesia.
