Abstract

Abstract

Teacher Digital Competence (TDC) is crucial for secondary school teachers who facilitate interactive, adaptive learning environments to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Quality Education. This research aims to systematically elucidate TDC at the secondary school level. In order to address the research questions, guidelines from PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) were employed to systematically identify 30 out of 450 articles, spanning the period from 2020 to 2024, and retrieved from three databases, namely Scopus, WoS, and ERIC, in accordance with the established exclusion and inclusion criteria. The results show that (1) Interest in teachers' digital competence surged in 2024, reflecting the educational sector's post-pandemic priorities. Key studies from Australia, Spain, and Switzerland have led influential contributions to educational technology, highlighting the global importance of this field. (2) Essential strategies for improving digital competence include targeted professional development, effective integration of technology in classrooms, and adherence to international standards. (3) Teachers face challenges such as limited training and institutional support, underscoring the need for structured programs to enhance digital skills. (4) Frameworks like DigCompEdu, TPACK, TAM and ISTE have proven effective for assessing and strengthening digital competence to teaching practices and (5) TDC is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Future research should delve deeper into the factors that influence teachers' digital competence and explore frameworks that can be adapted to different educational contexts.

Abstract

Teacher competence is essential in today’s education, where teachers are expected to not only deliver content but also mentor, assess, and support students' character development. With rapid technological changes, diverse student populations, and evolving learning needs, teachers must continuously adapt their competencies. However, previous research has largely focused on local or conceptual discussions, lacking a comprehensive global perspective. This study aims to map the scientific landscape of teacher competence research from 2005 to mid-2025 using a scientometric method based on the PRISMA 2020 framework. A total of 397 peer-reviewed journal articles indexed in Scopus were analyzed using Biblioshiny. The results show a significant increase in publications after 2020, particularly addressing digital competence, inclusive education, and pedagogical knowledge. Germany and the Netherlands are identified as key contributors, while Indonesia exhibits high productivity with limited international collaboration. This study not only highlights thematic trends and influential contributors but also provides practical insights for shaping future teacher development strategies. By uncovering global research patterns, this work contributes to a more adaptive, inclusive, and digitally responsive understanding of teacher competence in an era of educational transformation.

Abstract

This research aims to partially analyze the influence of environmental turbulence and organizational culture on financial performance and examine the role of human capital strategy as a mediating variable on financial performance in education technology start-ups in Indonesia. Descriptive research methods are used to collect data from founders/co-founders of start-ups. up which has been operating for more than five years, with the aim of gaining a deep understanding of the relationships between variables using causality theories existing in the literature. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire with 49 items that explored the variables of environmental turbulence, organizational culture, human capital strategy, and financial performance. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression to test the direct relationship between variables, as well as moderation regression analysis to explore the moderating role of human capital strategy in the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Research findings show that environmental turbulence has a negative effect on start-up financial performance, while a strong organizational culture contributes positively to financial performance. Human capital strategy was also found to act as a significant mediator between organizational culture and financial performance. The implications of these findings highlight the importance for start-ups in the educational technology sector to manage the changing environment by developing a strong organizational culture and adaptive human capital strategies. This not only helps improve financial performance, but also strengthens their long-term competitiveness in a competitive market.

Abstract

The organization must preserve balance by establishing mutually beneficial relationships with its employees, who are its most valuable assets. Several essential aspects are required to maintain this equilibrium, including organizational commitment, employee engagement, and information exchange. We use social exchange theory to investigate the effects of commitment, knowledge sharing, and employee engagement on civil servant performance outcomes (ASN). This study uses a cross-sectional design and includes 115 civil servants from Tasikmalaya. Data analysis utilizes Stata/MP 17.0 for descriptive, bivariable, and multivariable analyses. The research findings indicate a positive impact of employee engagement, affective and normative commitment, and knowledge sharing on ASN performance. However, the negative effect of tenure exceeding five years and continuance commitment on ASN performance is negative. These findings illustrate that while employees are generally expected to have high organizational commitment, continuous commitment to material benefits may be detrimental. The results serve as a basis for discussion among researchers to conduct further longitudinal studies for more accurate conclusions.
