Abstract

The epidemiological transition has occurred significantly over the last two decades, with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) becoming the main burden. In context of health communication, health campaign activities are expected to reduce these problems. The objective of the research is to analyze health communication channels and the relationship between health communication channels and health behavior. Data were collected by applying a survey method using a self-administered questionnaire. The survey was conducted in Depok City, West Java, Indonesia. Respondents were residents of aged fifteen years and over, who had been exposed to health promotion campaigns or activities from the various communication channels used. Total sample size was 120 respondents. Univariate analysis was applied to get frequency distribution tables, while bivariate analysis was applied using Pearson correlation analysis. The research results indicate that majority of the residents are still in moderate category with regard to implementing health behaviors. There are still many people, who implement unhealthy behaviors, particularly with regard to regular health checks. Secondly, the frequency of use of health promotion communication channels remains low. New media channels, interpersonal media and community media are three channels that are perceived as trustworthy, attractive and credible. Thirdly, this study found that the frequency of using communication channels, channel trustworthiness, attractiveness and credibility have a significant relationship with health behavior. The findings of this study have implications for health campaign program designers, who should consider including campaign messages that can lead to improve public health behavior and prevent the occurrence of NCDs.

Abstract

IPB university is one of the universities that has many innovations, this can be shown by IPB's achievements for 12 (twelve) consecutive years (2008-2019) participating in the 100 plus Indonesian innovation program organized by the Business Innovation Center (BIC) with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemenristekdikti RI) and The Indonesian Academy of Sciences (LIPI). Higher education is an innovation center that plays a role in the progress of society, providing impact and solutions from the results of research conducted. However, the reality is whether the research carried out provides an effective solution to the community or is it just a collection of books that are neatly stored in the library and can only be accessed by certain circles. The research method is designed using qualitative method. Qualitative data informants are representatives of each component, managers and innovators. Qualitative data processing using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Oppurtunities, Threats). The results showed the current situation has opportunities and strengths so that it can take advantage of internal strengths and existing opportunities, therefore the recommended strategy in this study is an aggressive strategy Keywords: Innovation research result, IPB University, SWOT analysis

Abstract

Social inclusion-based library transformation is a library service dedicated to improving the community's quality of life and welfare through literacy. The implementation of this program targets the community, farmers, extension workers, and stakeholders in West Java. This research analyzed internal and external factors that influenced the development of libraries based on social inclusion in supporting regional development. This study used a qualitative analysis approach through observation and interview methods with seven respondents involved in social inclusion-based libraries. The study results indicated that the development of social inclusion-based libraries held great potential to improve the community quality of life and support regional development through literacy. The most influential internal and external factors included increased cooperation with village governments and related agencies, strengthening the capacity of human resources for library management, promotional programs, and reinforced institutions and regulations. The SWOT-AHP analysis prioritizes future program development strategies for the institutional model of social inclusion-based libraries, with a focus on encouraging the active role of farmer groups and promoting increased cooperation with related ministries/institutions and boosting increased cooperation with village governments. These three strategies are considered the most effective in strengthening the impact of social inclusion-based library programs on community development, especially in the agricultural and rural sectors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in empowering the community through the development of ecotourism at Curup Kereta Waterfall. A qualitative approach was used, employing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Pokdarwis plays a vital role in enhancing community capacity through tourism management, environmental conservation, and visitor services. The findings reveal that community involvement in Pokdarwis contributes to local economic growth by providing tourism services and local products. However, this empowerment faces challenges such as suboptimal coordination with the Tourism Office and limited infrastructure to support accessibility and visitor comfort. Furthermore, community participation in decision-making remains confined to implementation aspects. To ensure the sustainability of ecotourism, greater equitable community involvement and improved coordination between Pokdarwis, the government, and other stakeholders are required. These findings highlight the critical role of Pokdarwis as an empowerment agent, bridging the community with sustainable ecotourism opportunities and fostering inclusive and continuous prosperity.

Abstract

One of the most significant innovations in the current digital era is the emergence of social media as a multifunctional platform that can be utilized for various needs, from communication between individuals to global collaboration, entertainment in multiple formats, digital content-based education, and business development and promotion in different sectors. Social media such as YouTube has proliferated into a platform that provides information that is easily accessible to multiple groups and has a significant positive impact. One of the impacts is the ease and speed of long-distance communication, which facilitates interaction between individuals or groups even though they are separated by space and time. This study aims to analyze the use of social media in learning and developing livestock businesses. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative, which adopts a constructivist paradigm and a case study approach. Two informants involved in this study were selected purposively because they have businesses in the livestock sector, especially goats. The results of the survey show that YouTube has proven to be an essential tool for farmers in improving business skills and efficiency because it provides easy access to practical knowledge about livestock management, such as feeding techniques, livestock health care, business management strategies, and independent learning resources, gaining knowledge from experts and experienced practitioners.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation and job stress on job satisfaction among entry-level employees in start-up companies. This phenomenon is particularly relevant given the dynamic nature of start-up work environments and the dominance of Generation Z in the workforce structure. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 271 respondents working in the start-up sector and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, while job stress has a significant negative effect. Simultaneously, both variables contribute significantly to job satisfaction, with an R² value of 0.925. These findings highlight that creating a work environment that fosters motivation while minimizing stress is essential to enhancing job satisfaction, particularly among Generation Z employees. This study provides theoretical implications for the development of human resource management research and practical recommendations for managing employees in competitive and adaptive start-up work environments.
